It is a excellent app but as far as processing scanned documents it doesn’t do a great job. Re: Problem downloading u.k. english voice on a 4S
Hi if you want to remove the enhanced quality voice and reinstall it try this. First go to settings. Then go to general. Then go to accessibility. Then go to voiceover. Then go to speech. Then go to default dialect. Then swipe to the voice you want to delete and then swipe to the enhanced quality button and then swipe down to delete and then double tap. Then from that point it should say enhanced quality download. You should then be able to redownload the enhanced quality voice. Try that and see if that works. RE: bower and wilkins zepplin mini
Hi Steven, I don’t think the BW Zepplin requires or even has the option of an app. I am talking about the Sonos music system which gives you the option of 3 different stand-alone speakers as well as a TV soundbar, sbwover and 2 other players which either require regular bookshelf or tower speakers or powered speakers or a connection to an existing amplifier/receiver. All of the stand-alone speakers which are called the Play 1, Play 3 and Play 5 can be configured as a stereo pair if you buy 2 of the same and the Playbar can be setup with a set of Play 1 or Play 3 and a subwover for a full 5.1 surround setup. Sonos is more than just speakers, it connects to your music library on your computer and it cxonnects to the internet where you have access (via the app) to all the free radio from Tune In as well as just about every music service there is like for example Spotify, Deezer, Rdio, Rhapsody, Pandora, Slacker, Songza and many more. From what I read Sonos will add Apple Music support later in the year. Often the interface to deal with these services is easier than using a particular service’s app and overall Sonos offers a fantastic experience with very good audio quality. Each speaker/player has only 2 buttons, one is a play/pause button and the other is a volume up/down rocker. There is no on/off switch on any of the players as they are always on and as they use Class D amplifiers, they use virtually no power in standby/sleep mode, I believe it’s something like 1 Watt. With Sonos you don’t so much play music to the speakers but the speaker is access to your music although the Play 5 and the 2 other players which need regular speakers or a connection to a receiver also have an input which allows you to connect a traditional source device such as a CD player, laptop or portable player like VictorReader Stream. You can Airplay enable Sonos by connecting an Apple Airport Express to a player with an input. You then Airplay to the Airport Express and it will play on Sonos, but there is no native Airplay support which I would say is one of the few minor inconveniences. The same goes for Bluetooth, but then again you don’t really need Bluetooth support and while Sonos is not Airplay capable out of the box, you still can play any music that is on your iPhone directly to Sonos, just not the output from other apps. You can, of course, use a 3.5mm male to male cable if you have a Play 5 and connect your iPhone’s headphone jack to the 3.5mm input on the Sonos. Like I said, it’s a super versatile and scalable solution. In the US a Play 1 is $199, a Play 3 is $299, a Play 5 is $399 and the Playbar and Sonos Sub are $749 each. The system is completely wireless and all you have to do is place your speaker/player close enough to an electrical outlet to plug it in, then use the app to connect and configure it. However, I also think it probably doesn’t come cheap and I’d seriously consider getting something like a Sonos Play 5 or a pair of Sonos Play 3 instead because they are much more than just a speaker and the app to control them is wonderfully accessible. Furthermore, if you get 1 Sonos item you can build on that and add more later on and eventually have music everywhere in your house. I don’t want to repeat all I wrote about Sonos in the past, so just check out their website, www.sonos.com http://www.sonos.com , and also go to the list archive, search for Sonos and read some of the older posts. You could, by the way, also search the archive for “zeppelin” to see what pops up since it’s a unique enough word so you won’t get a ton of search results. Re: Can anyone get the New voice OCR app to work?
Voice worked better before the update, but even then, you got what you paid for. KNFB Reader is by far the best OCR app out there. But, if you can't afford the $99.99, for just getting straight text, TextGrabber does a good job for less than $10. Not as good as KNFB and you can't do multi-page documents. Prizmo, for $9.99, will allow multi-page documents, but the interface is more complicated. Prizmo does a better job at trying to separate paragraphs than KNFB Reader, but I'm hopeful that feature will be in the next update to KNFB. I would imagine that if one really wanted Airplay directly, the BW might be a better choice. I just updated some apps on my phone, including HBO go and NPR news. The little blurb for each of them referenced deep linking. The problem is that in order to receive several of the channels offered on the Apple TV one must be able to get those channels presently on their cable. Suggest you think about getting an app called Sling TV for your phone, see information below. below... Imagine everything you liked about cable. You probably enjoyed surfing the channels, watching the shows people were talking about when they aired instead of months after. And, if you were lucky enough to own boxes of a certain caliber, pausing and rewinding said TV shows in real time. Now, imagine everything you hated: the costly bill at the end of the month, the bulky, expensive equipment that marred the side of your house and entertainment center. Not to mention the service contract that never seemed to end. But what if you could get everything you loved about TV without any of those gripes? That, in a nutshell, is Sling TV. It's live TV streaming whenever and wherever. No contracts, no equipment and no costly statement. Sling TV? Is it the same thing as a Slingbox? While there are some concepts borrowed from Slingbox, Sling TV is in a different league when it comes to cutting the cord. Sling TV is a US-only service offered from DISH that allows you to watch the channels you'd typically find on basic cable for $20 a month without a contract, subscription to DISH or any pesky cable equipment on your roof or in your living room. What devices can I use to watch it?Create an account on DISH's website and use that info to login to the app on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire TV Stick, Google's Nexus Player, Xbox One and Roku TV. The service will also work on select LG and Samsung smart TVs, and on Macs and PCs via a website portal. The service is expected to come to Google Chromecastlater this year. The system is more eloquent than apps like TWC TV or Xfinity, and while the latter is almost universally available, trying to remember whose name and email you use to login can ruin a session before it even starts. What channels are included? So far, channels on the basic, $20-per-month plan include ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Travel Channel, CNN, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, AMC, IFC and, most recently, AE, History, H2, Lifetime, Bloomberg and most recently, Polaris+. The biggest change to this roster is HBO. Starting April 12 for the premiere of the new season of Game of Thrones, Sling TV will offer live HBO for $15 a month to current Best of Live TV subscribers. Also new is the addition of DishWorld multi-lingual content to Sling TV. In addition to the base subscription, seven add-on packages are available for $5 apiece each month: a.. Kids Extra, with Disney Jr, Disney XD, Boomerang, Duck TV, and Baby TV. b.. Sports Extra, which includes the SEC Network, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, Universal Sports, Univision Deportes, beIN Sports, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded and ESPN Goal Line. c.. Lifestyle extra, with Cooking Channel, DIY, truTV, WE tv, FYI, and LMN. d.. Hollywood Extra, which includes live and video-on-demand content from EPIX, EPIX2, EPIX3, EPIX Drive-In, Sundance TV and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) e.. World News Extra, with HLN, News 18 India, Euronews, NDTV 24x7, France24 and RT. f.. Deportes Extra includes Azteca, beIN Español, beIN HD (English), Univison, Univision Deportes and UniMás. g.. PelÃculas Novelas Extra includes Azteca Corazon, Cinelatino, De PelÃcula, De PelÃcula Clasico, Pasiones, Univision tlnovelas, Univision and UniMás. FunctionalityNow, remember when you asked about Slingbox? Well, it's true, Sling TV and Slingbox share a few similarities beyond the first syllable. Sling TV allows you to pause, rewind and fast-forward live TV on some channels (note the word some there), and the ability to watch shows a few days after they've aired. Also similar to Slingbox, Sling TV lets you watch its service on most mobile devices anywhere in the world. That is, as long as you can establish and maintain a bitrate of about 1.5 Mbps for high-quality streams, 0.8Mbps for medium resolution, and 0.5 Mbps for low-quality. Sling TV on Roku TechRadar was given two platforms to test Sling TV. One was Roku (specifically on a Roku 3) and the other was iOS, which we'll get to

Well wait until the next major update to KNFB Reader. One thing that will be new is it will be a free download with an in-app purchase to use all of the features. Not as good as KNFB and you can't do multi-page documents. Prizmo, for $9.99, will allow multi-page documents, but the interface is more complicated. KNFB Reader 2.0 question
I listened to the latest applevis podcast about the upcoming update to KNFB Reader. They are doing some exciting stuff with the app. :) Anyways, I understand that it will switch to a free app with an in app purchase so customers can try before they buy. So, I wondered how in app purchases work with Family Share. Do in app purchases work with Family Share? It seems like I tried it once with an app and it did not work. Maybe I did this wrong. If I am right, does that mean KNFB Reader will no longer work with Family Share? Thanks for any info about Family Sharing and in app purchases. Re: Sonos was Re: bower and wilkins zepplin mini
Hi, I wish their iOS app had a power scrolling feature to make moving through your favorites or radio stations easier. Other wise I love my Sonos system too it's one of the best purchases of the past decade for me. Robin -Original Message- From: Krister Ekstrom Sent: Wednesday, August 19, 2015 11:34 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Sonos was Re: bower and wilkins zepplin mini The only 3 things i wish Sonos could do is: Have Airplay right out of the box, but that is solvable with an Airport Express as you said. 2, Have an outdoor player that you could have on your balcony or in the garden for playing but maybe it’s coming who knows? 3, handle audio books a bit better, ie have a special category for audio books so that they don’t end up amongst your music. Other than that, i love my Sonos system and i don’t regret a single moment that i bought it. /Krister On 19 Aug 2015, at 16:48, Sieghard Weitzel wrote: Hi Steven, I don’t think the BW Zepplin requires or even has the option of an app. The play 3 speaker can be put on its side and then you can get stereo sound. Other than that, i love my Sonos system and i don’t regret a single moment that i bought it. /Krister On 19 Aug 2015, at 16:48, Sieghard Weitzel wrote: Hi Steven, I don’t think the BW Zepplin requires or even has the option of an app. Can anyone recommend a mini external bluetooth keyboard (the smaller the better) for use with an IPhone?
Hi all Was just wondering if anyone had any answers to the following. I'm looking to get a mini external bluetooth keyboard to pair with my IPhone. I do have what they claim is a mini keyboard at the moment, but really it's still quite chunky/large comparatively. So if anyone has any recommendations for good external mini bluetooth keyboards which would work well with the IPhone really would be muchh appreciated. Very important point ... the smaller the keyboard the better. Thanks. Eleanor Sent from my iPad -- The following information is important for all members of the VIPhone list. Kids Extra, with Disney Jr, Disney XD, Boomerang, Duck TV, and Baby TV. b.. Sports Extra, which includes the SEC Network, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, Universal Sports, Univision Deportes, beIN Sports, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded and ESPN Goal Line. c.. If anyone feels we should address this issue by writing, I'd be happy to do this as an individual but only if someone who is competent enough could outline some of the things that are wrong, at least at this present time. Personally, I just wish it was much more straightforward with good keyboard support, but whether it's sufficient just to say that and draw their attention to the fact that so many of us just can't get to grips with it I'm not really sure. Hi laury, my Apple TV book has an extensive summary of the channels on Apple TV in various countries. Kids Extra, with Disney Jr, Disney XD, Boomerang, Duck TV, and Baby TV. b.. Sling TV allows you to pause, rewind and fast-forward live TV on some channels (note the word some there), and the ability to watch shows a few days after they've aired.
