Why not use Whats App, it's cross platform, accessible and you can send text 
messages, voice messages, video messages or even do live audio or video calls.

I have no idea what one has to do to be included in something like TuneIn, but 
that seems like it might be easier than having an app especially built just for

Well, at least Codex is fast, grin.
I don't think Voice Dream WRITER will work because it only reads txt files, 
though it can export to Word files.
That is unless you and the others working on the document would do it in txt 
and use the mark up language Winston uses in writer.
One Number Sign before a heading makes it heading level 1, two Number Signs 
converts to heading level 2, etc.
Then, when it is time for the final version, assuming there is a final version, 
you could export it as Word or RTF.

Donald,

The easiest way is to open the App Store on your phone, make sure the 
"Featured" tab at the bottom left has focus which it usually does, then swipe 
left after you touch it until you hear your Apple Id email. Double tap, then 
double tap on "View Apple Id". You will be asked to provide your Apple Id 
password or use Touch Id to unlock this section if you have set it up.
Once you are in there you can look for a link called "Subscriptions" and here 
you will see all your subscriptions.

Audio Streaming App

I'm not sure if I put the right subject, but I am looking for a reasonable 
developer to heto develop an app for my radio station.  I checked on Applevis,

Many thanks, Richard. I have Codex installed on my computer so I'll give it a 
try. The downside is that the docx file is being edited every couple of weeks 
so I'll have to convert it multiple times. But that won't b the first or last 
workaround I have to implement.

You would have to convert the Word file to an ePub first for Voice Dream Reader 
to take advantage of the heading levels.
If you do not know about Codex from James Scholes, check out this link.

The page focuses on removing DRM from Kindle books for personal use, but it 
will also convert Word documents to epub.

it. Now I will because I want to switch from two-step verification to two 
factor.

Voice Dream Reader and Headings

Hi List,

 

I've got a Microsoft Word docx file that is marked up with headings from 1
to 5 and I'm struggling trying to find an app I can read it with on my
iPhone 7 and jump quickly to the headings using the rotor. The Word app
itself doesn't seem to work with the rotor headings at least not the version
of Word I have installed. I thought I would try Voice Dream Reader since it
reads docx files and has the headings button in the far left of its
bottomline menu. However, headings placed in Word documents don't seem to be
recognized by Voice Dream so I'm wondering if anyone has successfully
navigated headings in Voice Dream and if so, how were those headings placed
there.

If you set a passcode you will be required to enter this passcode before an 
update can proceed and of course if you forget your passcode you will no longer 
have access to your phone. Keep in mind that if that happens Apple won't be 
able to help you, they can't recover a forgotten papsscode .
In such a situation if you also have Find my iPhone turned on you wold have to 
log in to your Apple Id on a computer using the iCloud.com website, turn Find 
my iPhone off and then do a total reset of your phone.

And don't forget those times when Touch Id doesn't recognize your fingerprint, 
then you still have to enter your passcode. I think it usually let's you try 3 
or 4 times before it wants the passcode.

Hi all,

Is there a way to save all entries to the cloud or use them on my iPad? I had 
to restore my devices yesterday and lost quite a few entries. That is what I 
liked about Day one is that I was able to save entries to the cloud and use 
them across devices. Any help on this would be extrememly appreciated. I am 
frustrated that I lost those entries.

I personally use my recording app of choice to keep an audio journal
and then I share these fi,es into my dropbox personal folder. Whenever
I need to, I just switch these files into my computer or external
harddrive. I'm not one that personally likes to write, especially
since I got the microphone I wanted for awhile, which lets you record
in true sterio sound. I hope this helps and God Bless you all. I

Yes and yes.  I’ve gotten the ship rack mail box is full in the past day and I 
quite agree with Sieghard parcel track is proving itself to be a worthy 
replacement to Ship Rack though my sentimental heart is still sad to see it 
wither on the vine. The email forwarding feature works great by the way once 
you copy your unique email address into your contacts of your mail program or 
app of choice. I find that its makers don’t always respond but work to fix 
feedback concerns quickly.  Oh yes Sieghard I’ve noticed that too and have 
reported that as well and would love to see locations in notifications so do 
join me in politely requesting it (smiles).
Parcel Track is free but to get its premium features you need to subscribe but 
I find it more than worth its minimal fee.

This isn't an answer to your problem with Shiprack directly, but you might want 
to try the app Parcel Track. I have been using Parcel for the longest time but 
tried Parcel Track as it was mentioned a few weeks ago and I quite like it. It 
does also have an email to which you can forward emails which contain a 
shipping number, but I rarely use this feature. If you have a tracking number 
in the cliboard and start a new package it will automatically insert the 
tracking number and auto-detect the carrier. Notifications work well and come 
quicker than with Parcel and I'm quite happy with the app.

Only thing I have to maybe let the developers know is that notifications don't 
include locations, it may say "Arrived at sort facility" but you won't see the 
location unless you open the app. Notifications from Parcel included this, e.g. 
"Arrived at sort facility Richmond BC".

You can archive delivered shipments and it seems like it is for an unlimited 
number of shipments, I believe Parcel can only save 100 shipments.

Donna,
Thanks very much for this suggestion. It worked and when I switched
back to YouTube, the back or collapse button was right where it should
be. This is a more convenient option than closing and reopening the
app for each video you want to watch, IMO.

This isn't an answer to your problem with Shiprack directly, but you might want 
to try the app Parcel Track. I have been using Parcel for the longest time but 
tried Parcel Track as it was mentioned a few weeks ago and I quite like it. It 
does also have an email to which you can forward emails which contain a 
shipping number, but I rarely use this feature. If you have a tracking number 
in the cliboard and start a new package it will automatically insert the 
tracking number and auto-detect the carrier. Notifications work well and come 
quicker than with Parcel and I'm quite happy with the app.
Only thing I have to maybe let the developers know is that notifications don't 
include locations, it may say "Arrived at sort facility" but you won't see the 
location unless you open the app. Notifications from Parcel included this, e.g. 
"Arrived at sort facility Richmond BC".
You can archive delivered shipments and it seems like it is for an unlimited 
number of shipments, I believe Parcel can only save 100 shipments.

Another pass code question

I have been wondering whether if I have a passcode on my phone, when I have to 
update the firmware or reset the phone for some reason, with the initial 
passcode prompt be voiced with VoiceOver? What if I can't put in the passcode? 
Has anyone encountered this issue or is there nothing to worry about?

Hello, but it doesn't have to be this way. If you go into settings > touch ID 
and passcode and enter the passcode you can set it to only require the passcode 
up to 4 hours.

If you put in a passcode without a fingerprint than yes each time you wake the 
phone you will need to put it in. If you set up touch id with your fingerprint 
you will only need to put in your passcode when you turn your phone off and on 
again. The only other time you should have to use your passcode is when you 
update iOS.

You only have to put the passcode in when you power on as long as you have your 
fingerprint ID established. The only time you truly have to put the passcode in 
is when you power on the phone like you said. Hope this helps.

In my experience, this video collapse button issue is sort of random. Sometimes 
I can find it easily exactly where I expect it to be, and at other times, I 
cannot find it easily, but with some fiddling, eventually find it. I do notice 
that the app overall seems to crash more than usual. Sometimes, just triple 
clicking the home button to turn voiceover on and then off again will bring 
focus where I need it to be. I can mostly do what I want to do with the app, 
but I do hope I can get my old happy YouTube read experience back again soon.

using punctuation and other features in dictating on iOS

Last year I found a podcast that demonstrated dictation on the iphone. It 
explained punctuation, going to a new paragraph, and many things that I was 
unaware of.  I have searched high and low for this podcast.  I searched 
applevis with no luck.  Does anyone else remember this podcast, or can anyone 
help with dictation.  I know how to insert basic punctuation, but, would like

It seems to be defaulting to repeat.
You’ll need to find the repeat button and double tap it to turn that off.
I can’t remember right now, but I think it is in the mini player.

I don't know much about pay-as-you-go sims, but I can certainly 
investigate.  And, now that you mention it, I think you might be 
right about a sim card eventually getting damaged.  For, I have 
an old deactivated sim card I keep around here to be used to 
sometimes activate backup iphones used on Wi-Fi only; and, when I 
tried to put it in a micro sim adapter, just to see since my 
inexpensive Android phone takes a micro sim, it no longer fits 
snugly in that adapter.  I'm sure I would be most unhappy if my 
only working sim card were to stop working say at eleven o'clock 
on a Saturday night.

I do have the series by Bill Brown and when I get the bug, that's what I listen 
to and hurt my fingertips! LOL!
That's my big problem, I always find excuses not to practice!
I've got a used cheap Strat that I bought locally off of Craig's List. Plus I 
bought a used Line 6 75 watt Spider Jam amp.
The amp is incredible, but it'd sure be nice if it were fully accessible. I 
would think all it would take would be a small bit of firmware, but what you 
gonna do? Maybe one day get all the blind electric guitar players together and  
keep contacting Line 6 and put the question to them?
"Hey, when are you going to make this great lineup of amps accessible for blind 
guitar players?"

OK, I'll get back to making my fingers bleed!

Yes, most of us use that.  I prefer a pitch pipe,  but they've gone out of 
production.

I'm a ukulele player really, they're even easier than a guitar, and have this 
reputation of being such fun, to play.  Can still get a big sound from a much 
smaller instrument. Get a bigger one like Tenor or Baritone. Like any

Don't know about big harps,  but  us necked instrument players usually have the 
benefit of tuning one or two strings, then tuning 
rest to those. I admit, I'm not so good  at trying to tune  to a tone an octave 
or more  from the tone I need. But some manage with 
a single tuning fork, if you can still get one.

Yes, most of us use that.  I prefer a pitch pipe,  but they've gone out of 
production.

I'm a ukulele player really, they're even easier than a guitar, and have this 
reputation of being such fun, to play.  Can still get 
a big sound from a much smaller instrument. Get a bigger one like Tenor or 
Baritone. Like any instrument, spend as much as you can,

I’m trying to learn how to play the guitar, now for the 3rd time in my life and 
without sight.

 

Would that Talking Tuner you mentioned be good enough to help me in tuning my 
Stratocaster?

Apple native music app question

Hello list
Can one play music on the iPhone sequencially i.e. from artist A to artist Z. 
When I let the first artist play and there are 10 songs it just repeats playing 
that artist without skipping to the next artist.
