RE: Ring Tones again

2018-02-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes
2. Press Control+F, this will take you to the search box, now tab 2 or 3 times
and you should see the “iPhone” button, activate it
3. Tab into the treeview which starts with “Summary”, type “T O” and it will go
to Tones, if not arrow down it’s almost at the bottom.
4. Tab until you are in the listview of Tones.
5. Open the folder where your ringtone is located, copy it to the clipboard
with Control+C
6. Alt+Tab back to iTunes and simply paste it into the listview with Control+V,
it will automatically sync to your phone, no further action is necessary.

RE: A Question for iOS Focus Blue Users

2018-02-08 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Scott and thanks for the post.

Too bad about the cursor routing keys but, as you say, there are still a great
many other key-combos one can configure.

I am using the Original Focus 40 Blue which, I am delighted to report, is
functioning flawlessly with the current commercial release of iOS.

Hi Mark.
yeah, old thread, I know. I have time once in awhile to pop in here and write a
message. Anyway, you cannot use the cursor routing buttons to custumize
commands, but you can use the hardware keys along with any combination of
keyboard commands for your assignment. So you still have a lot of things you
can do.
A bit off the point, but are you using the Focus 40 5th generation? I ask,
because I'm having some issues with iOS 11 and that specific device concerning
chorded commands.

Thanks,
Scott

Hello,

I just looked at this guide, and it was last updated about a year ago. Major
changes were made to braille input in iOS 11, so I wouldn't use that article as
a guide. I believe AppleVis talks about changes to braille in their iOS 11
coverage, and Jonathan Mosen deals with it in iOS Without the Eye.

To answer the earlier question, dot 7 is Backspace, and dot 8 is Enter. Editing
is now much like editing on other devices; you can make the changes you want
and usually don't have characters mis-translated.

Best,
Anna

Re: Question Regarding The Ring Doorbell App

2018-02-08 Thread Robin Frost

Hi,
Yes I'm seeing this here too. I thought perhaps it might have something to
do with its use of the microphone for communication. Has anyone opened a
dialog with them about this to see if there's a logical reason behind it or
if it's something that they didn't even realize would be an issue for
VoiceOver users?
I only ask because my short exchanges with them gave me the sense that they
might not have been as aware that blind people thus users of voiceover were
even making as much use of their video oriented devices as might actually be
the case.

Take good care.

Yes, this happens here as well. The problem is that for whatever reason, the
audio output switches to the ear piece and on top of that, the volume is
reduced quite a bit. I've learned to automatically put the phone to my ear
and raise the volume with the volume button. It's annoying for sure.

Make sure you go into Notification Centre and set it to Alerts and not

When it gave the notification it took me forever to find the right

If you have any questions or concerns about the

guide to braille on the iPHone

2018-02-08 Thread Woody Anna Dresner

Best,
Anna

What am I missing? I have tried to delete the account through accounts and
passwords as well as mail. When I double tap the account, I do not see a delete

account. This is on an 8 plus running the most recent build of IOS 11.2. Thanks

Re: A Question for iOS Focus Blue Users

2018-02-08 Thread Scott Davert
Hi Mark.
yeah, old thread, I know. I have time once in awhile to pop in here
and write a message. Anyway, you cannot use the cursor routing buttons
to custumize commands, but you can use the hardware keys along with
any combination of keyboard commands for your assignment. So you still
have a lot of things you can do.
A bit off the point, but are you using the Focus 40 5th generation? I
ask, because I'm having some issues with iOS 11 and that specific
device concerning chorded commands.

Thanks,
Scott

RE: Question Regarding The Ring Doorbell App

2018-02-08 Thread Rick Alfaro
Yes, this happens here as well. The problem is that for whatever reason, the
audio output switches to the ear piece and on top of that, the volume is
reduced quite a bit. I've learned to automatically put the phone to my ear and
raise the volume with the volume button. It's annoying for sure.

RE: iOS 11.3 Beta Music Accessibility Alert! Attention All Beta Testers!

2018-02-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Nothing until iOS 11.3 is released to the public, if Apple hasn't fixed this
then and you use the music app often then definitely don't update to 11.3 but
send an email to Apple Accessibility and scream bloody murder.
Please remember not to send such an email now, that is "Do not" email Apple
Accessibility about this now since this is beta software and they don't deal
with pre-release software issues, that is what the beta community and the beta
feedback form is for.
I think at this point this thread will hopefully close, thanks, Mark, for
posting this and let's all not clutter the list more about this. If you are a
public beta tester you know what you have to do in terms of submitting Feedback
via the Feedback app all beta testers have, if you don't do it you shouldn't be
a public beta tester.

Sieghard

Yikes! Apple really dropped the ball with this one! I'm not part of the beta
program, and I only have one current enough iOS device that could even run it,
so I'm not sure how much help I could realistically be. If there's anything
non-beta iOS users can do, would you let us know?

Janet,
Go to Settings > general > Accessibility > VoiceOver then select rotor from the
menu. Flick until you hear braille screen input then double tap. You should
have it in your rotor when you go to type.

Re: iOS 11.3 Beta Music Accessibility Alert! Attention All Beta Testers!

2018-02-08 Thread englishrider91
Yikes! Apple really dropped the ball with this one! I'm not part of the beta
program, and I only have one current enough iOS device that could even run it,
so I'm not sure how much help I could realistically be. If there's anything
non-beta iOS users can do, would you let us know?

Thanks,
Ari
