Hey Mark,

You know that as an avid tester and moderator of this list you do really need
to make sacrifices sometimes and if that means ordering a Papa John's pizza

Re: Please consider contacting Youtube to report the issues with the lates version 13.08 of their iOS app with VoiceOver

2018-03-09 Thread Arnold Schmidt
I just checked, and the collapse video button is still there on my IPhone 6,
running 11.2.6. It still is at the top left corner of my screen. I do not know
the number of my You Tube version, but there is no update for it in my app
store, so I guess it is the latest one. I do not know the reason for the
discrepancy in our experiences.

button to exit out of the recommended videos. I would like to suggest
that if others are experiencing the same issue that they consider
contacting YouTube. Feedback can be reported through the app by double
tapping on the send feedback button or probably reported in a feedback
form found online. I have already contacted YouTube about this issue
and I am hoping that it will be resolved soon.

RE: The iOS MyChart App is VoiceOver Accessible

2018-03-09 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Jenifer,

I am so glad that the timing of my post worked out for you.

You know, I recently had some test results, posted to my account, and it was
wonderful to be able to review the data on my phone, via VoiceOver, without the
frustration of attempting to acquire the info via my Windows desktop screen
reader.

You're most welcome for the info and I wish you the best on your test results.

Again, as I have written twice before, please take the time to rate and give
positive feedback on the app in the Apple App Store as it is so very important
that we make the developer aware of our existence, as visually impaired iOS
users.

This is truely good news that came at a great time for me as I am awaiting some

app it really wasn't that great.
You're awesome!

your location as, apparently, it is a super power hog.

Okay, the app info follows my signature.

Mark.
This is truely good news that came at a great time for me as I am awaiting some
test results that I am very anxious to get. As my practitioner won't be in
until next friday I am not keen on the weeklong wait. The last time I used the
app it really wasn't that great.
You're awesome!

Thanks for letting us know this. How handy this will be as the Web interface

Hello All,

I am delighted to let you know that the MyChart app, for iOS is completely
VoiceOver accessible. From the sign-in screen to reading test results,
VoiceOver users will have total access.

I was using the web browser to access my accounts but, since downloading the
app, I would never consider using the Desktop again.

Just so you know, I strongly suggest that you do not permit the app to access
your location as, apparently, it is a super power hog.

Okay, the app info follows my signature.

Enjoy and Stay Healthy,

Mark

App Name: MyChart

Description

Use your existing MyChart account to manage your health information and
communicate with your doctor on your mobile devices, including Apple Watch.

With MyChart you can:
. Review test results, medications, immunization history, and more . Stay in
touch with your physician . Manage your appointments . Upload health and
fitness data, including data from the Apple Health app, when enrolled in
self-tracking programs . View and pay your bill . Access your family's health
information

You must first create an account through your healthcare provider's MyChart
website. If your healthcare provider is not listed, or if you require support
accessing your existing account, contact them directly or visit their MyChart
website for more help options.

Have feedback about the app? Email us at mychartmobilesupp...@epic.com.

No just before email in the settings, you will find account and password
settings. You should be able to make that change here. It beats me why Apple
made this change but when they are looking for some kind of innovative
approach, all they could find was this.

RE: A Treat for Burger Lovers, Everywhere

2018-03-09 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Mike,

I am sorry and surprised to learn that you had problems setting up your
account.

I had absolutely no problem setting up my account on the mobile app.

I chose to use the email method as opposed to Facebook or Google.

About an hour or so ago, a totally blind iPhone user friend of mine set up her
account on the phone, without problems, also.

She told me, as I did not remember, that VoiceOver accessability is so good
that the app even told her when she should swipe right to see more options. I
opened my app, and, sure enough, it does give that instruction, when
appropriate.

Give the app another chance.

Now remember, if you use the email method, this is to say, you provide an email
address, you must create a password that is no less than 6 characters, it must
contain at least one uppercase letter and one number.

Also, in order to use the app, you will need to confirm your email address via
your preferred email client.

Finally, it's a good idea to use the explore-by-touch method when getting to
know the app.

Mark

Good luck trying to get your password to match when filling out and registering
for the first time; invoice over! I give up, right out of the box and I’m
having problems!

Changing settings on a Mac so VoiceOver starts automatically

2018-03-09 Thread Wayne Merritt
Greetings. Apologies if this is off topic. I will be training a
student on the Mac next week, giving the basic overview. I have a
larger and older Mac and a smaller and newer MacBook Pro. I don't know
the models/years. I want to go into them an set VoiceOver to start
automatically on the log-on screen and after logging in, as well as
when the Mac is woken up when the screen is raised. Can someone please
tell me where I go in the preferences to make those changes, and even
some basics on interacting with the different controls? I haven't used
a Mac in several years. Both Macs have the touch pad.

Thanks,
Wayne Merritt

The iOS MyChart App is VoiceOver Accessible

2018-03-09 Thread M. Taylor
Hello All,

I am delighted to let you know that the MyChart app, for iOS is completely
VoiceOver accessible. From the sign-in screen to reading test results,
VoiceOver users will have total access.

I was using the web browser to access my accounts but, since downloading the
app, I would never consider using the Desktop again.

Just so you know, I strongly suggest that you do not permit the app to
access your location as, apparently, it is a super power hog.

Okay, the app info follows my signature.

RE: question from a new iphone user, about when you go in to the xm app

2018-03-09 Thread Bill Outman
That was a good description of the tabs. The app is called Siriuus XM.

There must be something about the inflection of my voice. I’ve tried various
ways of spacing the words, or being careful to enunciate clearly, at least I
think I am doing that. I have no trouble opening, say, BARD Mobile or NFB
Newsline, or calling from contacts, usually, although I have had trouble with
some names.

But it’s always this one app I have trouble getting Siri to open, and so I have
to find it and open it manually.

Admittedly I have a 5S I can’t afford to upgrade right now. I speak pretty
well even though I didn’t until I was four due to some developmental issues,
and I had to have some speech training in elementary school, but once I did,
people couldn’t shut me up. Those developmental issues stemmed from the same
source that caused my visual impairments, and eventually total blindness.

Not sure why it’s not working for Bill, but I can get Siri to open Sirius/XM by

Mike,

Do a two finger double tap and hold, wait for the tri-tone, then you should

Hello Bill,

In BARD Mobile, choose the bookshelf from which you want to delete books, such
as Audio Books. Choose Edit. Touch the book you want to delete, flick up or
down to Delete, and double-tap. When you have deleted all the books you want
to, choose the Done button, which is where the Edit button was.

I'm not sure if you can do this in Settings -> Storage, and I kind of think you
cannot. You can delete things directly in the BARD Mobile App though.

Hello, Bill,

It depends on the app. With the music app, you can delete individual albums and
songs. Most apps give you the option to delete all the data, the whole app, or
both. Double-tap the app you're interested in and see what the options are.

Re: some album tracks not being sinked to iPod touch please help.

2018-03-09 Thread Trahern Culver
Hey thanks for your reply are use a playlist to sync all my tunes to the iPod
but sometimes some tunes are missing from the playlist after sink.

Hello Fanus,

I'm not exactly certain that I completely understand your problem. I suspect
that the music is being placed in a different folder based on some kind of
meta-data issues.

However, regardless, try using Playlists to organize your music.

Other than the initial step of adding tracks to the playlist, once done, unless
the source files are modified, the playlist will keep everything simple.

My entire music library is based on playlists.

Here's an example.

Let's say I either buy Michael Jackson's Off The Wall album from Amazon or I
rip it from an old CD, I manually create a folder with an appropriate name, on
one of my network drives. Next, I copy all of the songs from the album into
that folder.

I have my iTunes set to not copy the tracks into the library but merely point
to the original tracks. I do this in order to keep the size of my library
manageable. I already have backups of my music tracks on various storage
devices.

Now, in iTunes, I have my library view set to show songs, in descending order,
based on when they were added to my iTunes library. I do this so I can quickly
and easily find new songs that I import.

So, from within iTunes I add the Off The Wall tracks to my Library. In this
instance, I do this by selecting the files menu, followed by selecting the Add
Folder option.

I don't remember how many songs are actually in the album but, for this
example, let's say there are 10 tracks.

Therefore, the above mention step will add 10 new songs to my Library and these
songs will be located at the top of my songs list.

Before I do anything else, I select all 10 of these songs, easily done since
they're at the top of my songs list, and create a playlist named something like
Off The Wall.

Now I'm an old school kind of guy. This means that I want the songs of this
playlist/album to be in the original LP order. This is totally unnecessary but
I find that I often put old albums in their original play order.

To do this, I find the playlist in my iTunes library and manually moves the
tracks to where I like them in terms of play order.

Finally, I sync the playlist to any or all of my iOS devices.

With a specific album this would be the end of the story. However, I have a
Juke Box playlist of my favorite singles to which I add new songs, from
time-to-time.

I created my Juke Box playlist back in 2007, on a Windows Mobile Phone. I
started that list with only 17 songs. Now, after all these years, it's up to
144 songs.

My, how time flies and how tastes change. (smile)

I hope you find some of this useful.

Mark

Hello Trey
I have a similar problem using the iPod touch 6th gen but I have another
problem. When I use apple music and I listen to an album and decide to download
say the second and fourth song, then later when I decide to download the rest
of the album the other tracks are put in another folder so that when I want to
play the whole album the original 2 tracks are not there and I have to go back
to the albums to find those 2 tracks. I do not know if this can be solved. I
hope listers understand what I mean.
Regards
Fanus
