When you find a post that you wanna share, turn the rotor to actions, then
flick up until you get to share, then double tap, it also could be in the more
Menu, but I am unsure, I haven’t used Facebook in a while!
 Hope this helps :-)

I accidentally turned on two factor authentication while setting up a New Mac

I do not think there is a way to turn it off, I find it highly annoying!

No, they are not getting rid of anything.
They are stopping a program of quality control because they had human staff

Perhaps instead of trying to improve Siri's voice in IOS 13, maybe the
dictation could be fixed?
It is not horrible, but dictation is far more accurate on other platforms.

On 8/2/19, Sieghard Weitzel wrote:

the number 6.
I read you should say the word "numeral" in front of a number if you want
this number to be written as a number. I tried this and got "Buy numeral
six

bananas".

And I can't believe you still can't say "spell this" or another trigger

and then get SIRI to spell out a word which I know for sure it will get
wrong otherwise. I mean, it's been 8 years since SIRI and dictation were
introduced, come on Apple.

2019-08-02 Thread 'Sandy Tomkins' via VIPhone
I have the botac connected I really don't remember how I set it up now, but I
think I needed cited help for the very original setup. mind you, the app was
much less access a ball then. One time, when I got into a mess with it, and
there was no one here with me, are used be my eyes to sort it out. most of the
time, I don't use the app I just press the button. in the past I have had
several roombersand more recently the Neato, I find the Neato is the best! it
is also cheaper and has very good mobility skills, better than mine… I don't
know about the more recent roombers, but one thing the neato does, if it
can't get back to the doc, it goes back to the place where you set it off. So,
you always know where it will be.

You probably have your rotor turned to Sounds and every time you swipe up or
down you mute the sounds.
My suggestion is to go to Voiceover Settings > Rotor and find Sounds, if it is
selected double tap on it to unselect it and it will no longer be an option in
the rotor.

For some reason, Sounds will come up on my screen, and I have a time keeping it

Anyone have any idea how I can just stabilize. I don't know why I'd want it

Sieghard,
Now any kind of collie is going to be a challenge to a lot of hoovers
especially those with rotating brushes. even though your mum had the task of
completely emptying and re-systemising the brushes and the bin, her floors did
get hoovered! if a person is a bit arthritic or, like me, doesn't see at all,
hoovering is very problematic. unless you're home is completely empty,
something very difficult to achieve when you live with other people, hoovering
is a pain in the neck when you don't see. so, although I don't have to empty
mind every time, even if I did, I would find it a very reasonable trade-off for
nice clean floors and no headache. as for all this setting it going via Siri,
I did once set it off With Alexa, but my poor neato botvac proceeded to bang
its head repeatedly against the wall until I sent it home. generally speaking,
it's easiest just to press the button.

Neato robotic vacuums set to get Siri Shortcuts in the fall By Amber Neely
Friday, August 02, 2019, 04:49 am PT (07:49 am ET)

Neato, a company that specializes in robotic vacuums, has announced that it
will be adding in support for Siri shortcuts in the fall. If you've got
yourself a Neato vacuum, soon you'll be able to use Siri Shortcuts for remote
control. Users will be able to issue voice commands to tell their Neato vacuum
to begin a preset cleaning cycle, stop cleaning, or set up shortcuts to tell
the vacuum to clean a specific area. Users will also be able to send the vacuum
to the charging base via Siri Shortcut as well. If you're not the type to talk
to your vacuum, the Neato robot vacuum will attempt to to learn when and where
to sweep and offer lock-screen suggestions. There's no specific time frame for
when this update will release. Neato has stated this update will roll out with
a firmware update set to release this fall, likely following the release of iOS
13 and macOS Catalina. All of Neato's current vacuums are set to get the
update. Neato vacuums currently work with myriad services, including an Apple
Watch app, Wear OS services, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and even through
Facebook Messenger. Siri Shortcuts debuted in iOS 12 in 2018 . The system was
built from Workflow, an app that Apple purchased in 2017 , Shortcuts delivers
app and system control options through a drag-and-drop card UI, that can be
invoked by Siri. AppleInsider reviewed the Neato Botvac Connected back in 2016,
and found it to be one of the best robot vacuum cleaners available on the
market. In addition to offering controls via iPhone and Apple Watch, it also
supports complex scheduling functions, cleans very well, and is easy to empty
and clean. .

RE: Downloading envision AI?

2019-08-02 Thread Alan Lemly
Hi Fazil,

I had previously downloaded Envision AI to my iPhone 8 but had never set up an
online account with them. When I opened the app yesterday to look into the
steep discounts they've been promoting, I went ahead and selected the option to
create an account using my email address and the password I provided. Since the
app had already been downloaded, I was not prompted to provide my Apple ID but
I'm sure I used Touch ID when I originally downloaded it. After logging in with
my new account, I heard Voiceover speak that I was using the 14-day free trial.

I don't know if any of the above helps but I thought I'd provide the details of
my account setup experience in case it might.

Good luck with your efforts. I know others have posted about why one would need
Envision AI with the other free or less expensive options available but there
are aspects of the Envision AI user interface that I do like. And while $38 for
a lifetime license isn't inexpensive, that is a significant discount from its
usual price.

Hi, list.

I have iPhone5S with iOS12.4.

I tried to download Envision AI today. It says it is a 14-day free trial but it
does not give me a download option. It says get in app purchases. When I double
tapped on get button, it wanted me to sign in to itune Store with my Apple ID
and Password. Does it mean that they wanted me to buy the app right away
without giving me 14-day-trial?

Thanks!

2019-08-02 Thread Esther Levegnale
I also have a central vacuum system, plus a Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner. The
Roomba goes all over the house and if there is extra cleaning to do, it may do
some areas twice, but most of the time it vacuums once. I have a little bird
which is a cockatiel and I often wonder what he thinks when he sees the thing
go all over the living room! Smiley. For those of you who don’t know what a
cockatiel is, he is a small parrot and if I must say, he’s 14 and really
adorable!

I get what you mean there. When I am facing a dictation that I am sure Siri

Siri has a very hard time with names of people or places.

Exactly, we have a central vac system which is very powerful and getting
out the hose and vacuuming our entire 1,100 square foot upstairs takes maybe
10 or 15 minutes. Then maybe every 3 or 4 month I go downstairs, take off
the bucket and dump it.

That is to bad. I have read a lot of reviews about them and they are
pretty favorable. With having several cats and dogs, that was my complaint
about the Roomba's I had as well. Cleaning the brushes and roller took more
time then the vacuuming did.

The claim of “easy to clean” is debatable. My Mom has one and while her
border collie has now gone to doggie heaven, when she still had him she said
she pretty much had to take the thing apart after at least every
cleaning/use and completely clean out the brushes and everything or it would
not function properly. In fact, I used to want one of these but after her
experience I decided these were maybe not quite ready for prime time.

Neato robotic vacuums set to get Siri Shortcuts in the fall By Amber
Neely Friday, August 02, 2019, 04:49 am PT (07:49 am ET)

Neato, a company that specializes in robotic vacuums, has announced that
it will be adding in support for Siri shortcuts in the fall. If you've got
yourself a Neato vacuum, soon you'll be able to use Siri Shortcuts for
remote control. Users will be able to issue voice commands to tell their
Neato vacuum to begin a preset cleaning cycle, stop cleaning, or set up
shortcuts to tell the vacuum to clean a specific area. Users will also be
able to send the vacuum to the charging base via Siri Shortcut as well. If
you're not the type to talk to your vacuum, the Neato robot vacuum will
attempt to to learn when and where to sweep and offer lock-screen
suggestions. There's no specific time frame for when this update will
release. Neato has stated this update will roll out with a firmware update
set to release this fall, likely following the release of iOS 13 and macOS
Catalina. All of Neato's current vacuums are set to get the update. Neato
vacuums currently work with myriad services, including an Apple Watch app,
Wear OS services, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and even through Facebook
Messenger. Siri Shortcuts debuted in iOS 12 in 2018 . The system was built
from Workflow, an app that Apple purchased in 2017 , Shortcuts delivers app
and system control options through a drag-and-drop card UI, that can be
invoked by Siri. AppleInsider reviewed the Neato Botvac Connected back in
2016, and found it to be one of the best robot vacuum cleaners available on
the market. In addition to offering controls via iPhone and Apple Watch, it
also supports complex scheduling functions, cleans very well, and is easy to
empty and clean. .

RE: Dick Tatian problem

2019-08-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Holly,

Yes, SIRI can do this just fine as can Alexa or the Google Assistant.
But what I am talking about is to get SIRI to spell a word while I am dictating
text for example in a text or iMessage or an email.
I live in northwestern BC and we have a mountain range here called the Babine
Mountains.
Try to get SIRI to write "I went hiking in the Babine Mountains" by dictating
this phrase.
I get things like "I went hiking in te black bean mountains" or "I went hiking
in the bed be in mountains" and all sorts of stuff.
Why can't I say "I went hiking in the {spell this} B a B I n e mountains" where
the "spell this" would trigger SIRI to spell out the next word and insert it
letter by letter.
This is just one example, there are so many times where you have a name or
place name or something else you just know SIRI will not get right where you
could spell it out if that were supported.

the river which runs next to our town is called the Bulkley River.

Neato robotic vacuums set to get Siri Shortcuts in the fall By Amber Neely
Friday, August 02, 2019, 04:49 am PT (07:49 am ET)

AppleInsider reviewed the Neato Botvac Connected back in
2016, and found it to be one of the best robot vacuum cleaners available on
the market. In addition to offering controls via iPhone and Apple Watch, it
also supports complex scheduling functions, cleans very well, and is easy to
empty and clean. .

Dick Tatian problem

2019-08-02 Thread 'deidre muccio' via VIPhone
No joke Sieghard.
I looked at the accessibility settings on an Android the other night
that a friend had, and paid very little for, since it was through Virgin
Mobile. Right off, there were 3 options, none of which indicated anything you
could intuitively select. I hand it to Apple that at least things listed in
settings are usually fairly obvious, plus they have the explanation under the
item to be selected or turned off.
I can't tell you how many times I ask Seeri to dial a person, and I get
that she can look it up on line for me. I'm talking about persons who are in my
Contact App.
Between the added fussing on the iPhone and the crappy response I am
getting through my current server,Verizon, I might experiment with cheaper
options, and see what I get for a fraction of the cost.
The kind of dictation issue I have is when the voice over instruction
to double tap with a single finger... gets plugged in when I start dictating.
These seem like such easy issues to resolve, but then what would I know about
that?

There are lots of dictation tips and tricks, but some of them never work for
me. For example, if I dicate to SIRI something like this:

Buy 6 bananas SIRI always or usually writes the number six as a word and not
the number 6.
I read you should say the word "numeral" in front of a number if you want this
number to be written as a number. I tried this and got "Buy numeral six
bananas".

And I can't believe you still can't say "spell this" or another trigger word
and then get SIRI to spell out a word which I know for sure it will get wrong
otherwise. I mean, it's been 8 years since SIRI and dictation were introduced,
come on Apple.

RE: Dick Tatian problem

2019-08-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel

Sent from my iPhone hello everyone I am having a problem using the dictation
on the iPhone. I’m using an iPhone 6. When I try to give out any email
address it just is not coming out the way it supposed to you’ll get a letter
off when I try and give it even after I tried spelling my email address and
I’m wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

RE: setting up iPhone8 As New Phone?

2019-08-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
If you don't do iCloud backups then no, but I believe iCloud backup is on by
default. You can check it by going to Settings, tap on your name/Apple Id at
the top and find iCloud, then swipe down that list until you find iCloud Backup
and see if it's on and when the last backup was.
Also, if you select not to restore from a backup or you select an iTunes backup
then nothing gets restored from any iCloud backup.

Would the phone sync all settings from iCloud even though I have backed it up

Hello Fuzzel,

To reset your phone and restore from back up you will have to make sure you
have backed up with iCloud or iTunes first. The phone will have to be plugged
in and you then can find the back up settings in your iCloud profile in
settings on your phone. After it has finished backing up make sure find my
iPhone is turned off and then you will have to navigate to settings, General,
reset and then activate erase all content and settings. You may have to type
in a passcode if you have one set up.

This will take a little while as the iPhone will redownload the last version of
iOS. You then will be asked if you want to restore from a back up or set up as
new. You will want to pick the restore from back up option.

Your phone will now start to sync all of your settings from iCloud.

This may take a while.

I hope this helps.

The K780 is a bit on the heavy side because it is weighted so it

you describe otherwise perfectly. It is compact yet has basically
full-sized keys and a number pad, it has the inverted T cursor
keys, but not the block of 6 keys above that which you usually find
on a full-size keyboard between the main keyboard area and the
numeric pad. It does have a full-sized numeric pad, though.
I also use it as my main keyboard at home primarily with my laptop
and Jaws, but I have my iPhone paired to it and it can take up to
 three devices.
Keep in mind two things, however:
 1. The function keys have no gaps between F4 and F5 and F8 and F9
 2. You have to install the Logitech Options software on your laptop
if you want to use the function keys the traditional way, otherwise
you have to press the FN keys, e.g. Jaws Key + F12 would not give
you the time unless you also pressed the FN key at the same time.
Once Logitech Options is installed it's a fairly simple thing to
press tab until you hear "Use F1 -
F12 as standard function keys" and to check that checkbox. Once
done you don't really ever need to use it again, but you can't
uninstall it or your function keys go back to being media keys.
Lastly, there is only one Windows Key and no application key.

If you want a very traditional keyboard with enhanced 104 key
layout, 2 Windows keys, an application key and media controls as
well as the ability to handle a PC and one Bluetooth capable device
you could go for the Logitech G613 mechanical wireless gaming
keyboard. But it is a relatively heavy, quite large mechanical
keyboard and while fantastic to type on, it is probably not
something you want to stick into your little backpack to bring along.
The K780 once setup with Logitech Options/regular function key use
is a really nice keyboard to type on, very quiet and very good
despite it's few limitations. You will most likely need sighted
help to install the software, the installer is not very accessible,
if you want to try yourself remember to only press Shift + Tab once
the installer has loaded, if you press tab you are a goner.

 Sieghard

has a numpad as well. it is a little expensive but seems like a
great keyboard overall, and it also includes a dongle in case you

2019-08-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You probably have your rotor turned to Sounds and every time you swipe up or
down you mute the sounds.
My suggestion is to go to Voiceover Settings > Rotor and find Sounds, if it is
selected double tap on it to unselect it and it will no longer be an option in
the rotor.

For some reason, Sounds will come up on my screen, and I have a time keeping it
from being muted - sometimes have to go to

VoiceOver
then Audio.

Anyone have any idea how I can just stabilize. I don't know why I'd want it

Sonos and Ikea partner up - the result: Symfonisk WiFi Table lamp and bookshelf Speakers

2019-08-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
For the Sonos fans out there who haven't heard yet, you can now buy a speaker
which integrates into your Sonos system from Ikea. You can even get a table
lamp with a built-in speaker. These don't appear to integrate with Alexa or
Google Home or anything like that, but at $149 and $249 Canadian, respectively,
the bookshelf speakers and table lamp aren't exactly what I would consider all
that expensive. I assume in the US this will translate into $119 and $179 or
$189, respectively.
The bookshelf speakers are a foot tall, 4 inches wide and 6 inches deep and you
can get a wall bracket for a mere $15 and a speaker hook for $10, it allows you
to hang the speakers of a rail like some of the systems you can find for in the
kitchen where you install a continuous rail under your upper counters and you
can then hang utensils off it or get various shelves, paper towel holders etc.
You can read all about it below:

Symfonisk WiFi
Speakers

Best regards,
Sieghard

Re: Downloading envision AI?

2019-08-02 Thread Dave Jones
I open the app to check out an extended free trial as suggested in a prior
email. I ran into the same obstacle. No free trial extension after logging
back into the app.

Downloading envision AI?

2019-08-02 Thread Fazil
Hi, list.

I have iPhone5S with iOS12.4.

I tried to download Envision AI today. It says it is a 14-day free trial but
it does not give me a download option. It says get in app purchases. When I
double tapped on get button, it wanted me to sign in to itune Store with my
Apple ID and Password. Does it mean that they wanted me to buy the app right
away without giving me 14-day-trial?

Thanks!

From Apple Insideer about Shortcuts and robotic vacuumNeato robotic vacuums set to get Siri Shortcuts in the fall By Amber Neely Friday, August 02, 2019, 04:49 am PT (07:49 am ET)s

AppleInsider reviewed the Neato Botvac Connected back in 2016,
and found it to be one of the best robot vacuum cleaners available on the
market. In addition to offering controls via iPhone and Apple Watch, it also
supports complex scheduling functions, cleans very well, and is easy to empty
and clean. .
