Re: unlocking a locked iPhone

2020-02-29 Thread Arlene

Carolyn, the first thing, take your phone out of the case.
2. locate a very tiny whole on the side of the phone. I don't know where it
would be on the i11, however for an example, the iphone se sim card would be
on the right edge as you're facing the phone. You'll need a paper clip to
pop the tray with the sim card out. The paper clip, That's my preferred tool
since it works well.note: the tray and the sim card both, are very tiny, so
if you do happen to pop your sim card out I recomend doing it over
something, so it won't get lost. if you have any questions just ask and good
luck.

Where is it that you insert the SIM card. I wish I'd have thought to ask Ray
at Wal-Mart, when I got my phone. I guess you have to take the case off the
phone to get to it?

Hello,

Sometimes, it takes a bit of time for the IMEI to show up as unlocked after
it has been locked. It is worth sticking a sim in and seeing what happens if
you have followed the process and are unlocked.

=Thanks.

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but this is true for the SE,

supported by your phone. Here's everything you ever wanted to know about

If you call Verizon and ask them if you get AT to unlock the phone; can

I can successfully go in and turn off narrator every time, but I would like to

Could anyone explain this please. Thanks in advance, Keith

Re: HomePod Question

2020-02-29 Thread Mary Otten
After you transfer something to your HomePod, you can use your phone for other
things. You can lock the screen. But you cannot turn off the phone entirely, or
even close the app which is the source of the program on your HomePod. Thus, it
is not the same as a Chromecast, where you can completely turn off your device
once the Chromecast has taken over.

Re: HomePod Question

2020-02-29 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Robert,
What you did with your book share book is exactly what I have done when I have
tried the handoff feature. It’s just that most of the time, it doesn’t work for
me. That’s my problem. And I don’t think there has ever been a time when it has
worked with a voice over voice. I actually have a stereo pair. I don’t know why
that should make a difference. I’ve tried both parts of my stereo pair, and
both work intermittently as described.

Now you say on the right side of the phone. Is that with the screen facing you
like you were looking at the screen or with it turned around, so as to see the
back of the phone.

I have a friend with a 7, has never liked it, is going to replace it with a
flip, but she never has used it in a case. I just can't imagine that.

I had no idea where the SIM card would be. That could be useful information in

Yes, you have to remove the case.
On the right side of the phone a little more than two inches from the bottom,
there is a tiny pinhole, the end of a bent paperclip works to push in until the
SIM card drawer sticks out.
Be very careful to get the sim card inserted in the right orientation.
It has been so long since I've done that, I'm not sure how to describe it.
This is where sighted help would be very useful.
After putting the sim card in the little drawer, just push it in until it is
flush.
Needless to say, you want the phone turned off when doing this.
When you power the phone up, there may be something your carrier needs to do to
finish activation.

HTH,

Richard

like you were looking at the screen or with it turned around, so as to see the

I have a friend with a 7, has never liked it, is going to replace it with a

I can find a book and start the download faster than I could zip the file and

I already have these books already downloaded from bard. I ujust have to rezip
the books with 7zip which only takes a few seconds, then upload the book to
dropbox, then use the files app to copy the book to bard mobile. I like doing
this because it is quick and easy. I'm not saying, that I never download books
to bard mobile. One easy way to do this, is to use bard express to add what
book you want to your wishlist, then download it into bard mobile. The reason
why I copy books to bard mobile from dropbox is because I don't want to have to
redownload a bard book I already own. Good luck.

Re: Wish List.

2020-02-29 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I already have these books already downloaded from bard. I ujust have
to rezip the books with 7zip which only takes a few seconds, then
upload the book to dropbox, then use the files app to copy the book to
bard mobile. I like doing this because it is quick and easy. I'm not
saying, that I never download books to bard mobile. One easy way to
do this, is to use bard express to add what book you want to your
wishlist, then download it into bard mobile. The reason why I copy
books to bard mobile from dropbox is because I don't want to have to
redownload a bard book I already own. Good luck.

RE: Wish List.

2020-02-29 Thread Alan Lemly
Richard,

In my opinion, it's always faster to get a new BARD book by downloading it
directly using the BARD Mobile app on your device. The only time bringing it
into BARD Mobile from Dropbox might be faster is if you've already downloaded
the BARD zip file to your computer.

Carolyn, if you need help learning the bard mobile app, just let me know, and I
can walk you through it. I use it all the time. One thing you can also do, is
to upload a bard book to dropbox then import it into the bard mobile app. I do
this when I've got a book already downloaded in my massive 2 terabyte bard
collection and I want to read it on my iPhone. The app is really very simple
to use.

Re: Wish List.

2020-02-29 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
Carolyn, if you need help learning the bard mobile app, just let me
know, and I can walk you through it. I use it all the time. One
thing you can also do, is to upload a bard book to dropbox then import
it into the bard mobile app. I do this when I've got a book already
downloaded in my massive 2 terabyte bard collection and I want to read
it on my iPhone. The app is really very simple to use.

RE: unlocking a locked iPhone

2020-02-29 Thread Richard Turner

HTH,

Richard

You can put books on the wish list either from a stream or a trek. I do it all
the time. You find a book the same way you would find it if you were going to
download it. Then with the book selected you hit the diamond key on your top
row of keys, the one all the way to the right. That will say wish list. You hit
the confirm key to the right of the zero and the book is on your wish list.
That is all you have to do. It is easy.

I would doubt that unless there is something that says you can access the Wish

That is such a relief, because, right now, my SD card is really loaded.

I don't have my iPhone on BARD yet - one of these days though.

I really wish people would get their facts correct before saying things that
are simply not true. On the second gen victor stream, you can indeed add bard
books to your wishlist. What you do, is when looking through a list of books
on the stream and you want to add a book to your wishlist, is to press the
bookmark key which is the diamond shaped key on the top wright of the stream.
Your stream will say add book to wishlist. Hit the confirm key which is the
key just to the wright of the 0 key and your book will be added to your
wishlist. Also, there is no download limit when downloading books on the
victor stream, or to your computer. If anyone needs help add books to their
wishlist with their stream, they may call me at
815-978-8668 and I'll walk them through it.

Also a feature in which, like with the new BARD mobile most-recent update, you

think on the iPHone’s BARD app, it’s 3-finger swipe from right to left, to
cycle between, if you haven’t tried it.

RE: how do I stop Microsoft narrator from loading when starting my PC?

2020-02-29 Thread Richard Turner
While Narrator is running, press control-windows-n, which brings up the
narrator settings.
Tab to the start narrator before login and after login and make sure both of
those are unchecked.
Then, unless you want to go through a ton more settings, shift+tab back to the
home button and hit space or enter, then control+windows+enter to exit narrator.

hi,
I used Microsoft narrator to download Jaws on my new PC. Jaws is successfully
running on my PC. Now, when I boot up my computer, I get both draws and
narrator working.
I can successfully go in and turn off narrator every time, but I would like to
be able to shut it down permanently. I cannot figure out how to do this.
Could anyone explain this please. Thanks in advance, Keith

Thanks for this. It is good to know how to do it, in that a lot of people don't
know how to get it to happen.

RE: unlocking a locked Iphone

2020-02-29 Thread Dennis Long
First go to a different store simply say it is unlocked. I want to bring this
phone. If you have the sim just put it in. if it is unlocked it should work.
They would rather you purchase from them and get their phone.

Dennis, Was your phone an at? After getting the note from at saying they
approved unlock of my phone and gave instructions as to how to proceed with
another carrier, Verizon tells me the phone is still locked. They also tell me
that if they were to put a new sim card in my "new" SE, that it could cause me
to have no service at all. I couldn't take the risk of loosing cell service
altogether. But, can someone help me understand their logic? I am truly lost.

for SE's from Sprint. You also need to pay attention to the bands supported by
your phone. Here's everything you ever wanted to know about moving your SE from

Hello,

Sometimes, it takes a bit of time for the IMEI to show up as unlocked after it
has been locked. It is worth sticking a sim in and seeing what happens if you
have followed the process and are unlocked.

=Thanks.
