First go to a different store simply say it is unlocked. I want to bring this
phone. If you have the sim just put it in. if it is unlocked it should work.
They would rather you purchase from them and get their phone.

Dennis, Was your phone an at&t? After getting the note from at&t saying they
approved unlock of my phone and gave instructions as to how to proceed with
another carrier, Verizon tells me the phone is still locked. They also tell me
that if they were to put a new sim card in my "new" SE, that it could cause me
to have no service at all. I couldn't take the risk of loosing cell service
altogether. But, can someone help me understand their logic? I am truly lost.

Christopher thanks for sharing. I wonder what the author's credentials are for
writing the article. After the second attempt, at&t unlocked my phone. While
the article makes me think I may be in luck that my phone will work on Verizon,
apparently the only way to know for sure is yet one more trip to the store. I
am sooo hoping for a happy ending smile!!

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but this is true for the SE, except
for SE's from Sprint. You also need to pay attention to the bands supported by
your phone. Here's everything you ever wanted to know about moving your SE from
carrier to carrier
