Hello,

Verizon does not lock phones, so you should be good to go.

Thanks.

Hi Shirley,

Before switching to Tmobile you will have to call Verizon and have them unlock

And yes, you can use the same passcode on your new phone.

Re: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-04 Thread Jeff Samco
I have recently switched to a relatively new cell
carrier called Visible. It uses the Verizon
network. In fact, it is wholly owned by Verizon.
It has unlimited calls, text and data. It might
have a slowdown in data if the network is crowded
so as to protect the experience of actual Verizon
subscribers, but I have had no particular
inconveniences of this sort. It also includes unlimited Hotspot useage.

The cost is a flat $40 per month. But, even this
can be lowered. The first month right now has a
promotion rate of $25. After 2 months of service
I received a $100 reward as a virtual MasterCard
credit card. Lastly, I was able to permanently
reduce my monthly cost to $25 by using their
Party Pay. People can form groups resulting in reduced monthly costs.

For a group of two each person pays $35;
a group of 3 peach pays $30 and
a group of 4 each pays $25.
There is no sharing of data, bills or anything.
I found an open group on Reddit and had joined in about 5 minutes.

The one disadvantage is the service communicates
only through chat on their website or through
their app. And, I had to contact them about the
hotspot not initially being activated. Other than
that I am very pleased with the service.

RE: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-04 Thread Alan Lemly
Shirley,

Sometimes you can get a good deal including the payoff of equipment when you
switch carriers and play one against the other. Ultimately, the main concern is
getting the best service possible for the lowest price. As others have said,
different carriers seem to excel in different parts of the country so just make
sure that if you switch, you've spoken to folks in your area who are happy with
the service they've gotten from that carrier. Finally, it's worth calling
Verizon and saying your thinking about switching because their cost is more
than you want to pay and make absolutely sure they quote you the best possible
price.

I've been happy except for the amount of money I've had to pay. I was thinking
if a person switched carriers and they still owed for a piece of equipment,
sometimes the new carrier will buy them out so they don't have to finish paying
off that equipment. Isn't that right? I have the family plan with Verizon now.
If I didn't have Nathan on my plan, it probably wouldn't cost me as much. That
auto plan sounds like that might be the way to go. We're thinking about getting
the new phones by trading our old ones in and paying the rest off in cash so we
won't have so much to pay. Before we didn't have the money to pay the rest so
we had to do it on a month to month basis.

RE: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-04 Thread Alan Lemly
Postpaid plans are required when financing a phone through your carrier and I
believe are paid for the previous month's usage. Prepaid plans can't be used to
finance a phone purchase and are paid for the following month's usage. Other
than those main differences, the cell coverage should be the same under either
plan. Autopay is when you sign up to pay your monthly bill automatically by
providing a credit card rather than going in each month and paying manually. It
saves you an additional $5 a month whether you have a postpaid or prepaid plan.
Being able to get 6GB of data plus unlimited calls and texts for about $38
after tax was a no-brainer for me especially since I've been very happy with
Verizon.

I'm not sure what you mean by postpaid versus a auto pay plan. I just pay my
bill by phone each month and if I'm paying say for a phone and iPad, then the
amount is the same until they are paid off. I think I'm getting 2 GB.

Re: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

When the equipment is paid off, will T-mobile still be a better price? If
you switch now, you will have to pay any balance remaining on the devices.

I'm not sure what you mean by postpaid versus a auto pay plan. I just pay my
bill by phone each month and if I'm paying say for a phone and iPad, then
the amount is the same until they are paid off. I think I'm getting 2 GB.

Shirley,

I'd strongly suggest you talk to someone at Verizon at 888-294-6804 to see
if you're getting the best plan at the best price before switching to
another carrier. I have no idea what you've been getting for $245 a month
but I'm assuming that doesn't include any phone purchase obligations or I
expect you'd be unable to switch carriers. I was recently paying $51 a
month after tax and fees for a postpaid plan with 1GB of data with
Verizon. I did not have autopay set up for that plan. When I asked about a
Verizon prepaid plan a week ago this past Saturday, I was told they
currently had a promotion to double your data for a new account. I had to
go in and set up a new Verizon online account with a different user ID but
you'll have to do that anyway if you change carriers. I ended up with a
6GB of data prepaid plan for $43 a month after tax and I also selected
autopay to charge my monthly amount to my credit card which saves me an
extra $5 a month. I'd see if you can get a better deal before changing
carriers.

Because our bill has been $245 and I can't keep paying that and T Mobile
doesn't charge that much.

The reason I have 2 GB is because I've gone over my data a few times so I make
sure when I leave my house, I don't download a book or download my mail and
that way I don't go over.

Last moth's bill was $197 but that's because I am not paying for the purchase

If you are getting rid of your old phones and/or IPads, make sure you do a
factory reset on them so all your personal information is erased. That is if
you are trading them in or selling.

I'm going to trade that phone for a new one so I shouldn't have to have them
unlock a new phone, right? I know two people who have /T Mobile as their
carrier and they're very happy.

Re: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-04 Thread Shirley Baker
Was the reason for not having good luck with T Mobile based on the reception?
What is it that /Verizon Wireless disability can do that regular Verizon can't
do?

RE: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-04 Thread Alan Lemly
Shirley,

I'd strongly suggest you talk to someone at Verizon at 888-294-6804 to see if
you're getting the best plan at the best price before switching to another
carrier. I have no idea what you've been getting for $245 a month but I'm
assuming that doesn't include any phone purchase obligations or I expect you'd
be unable to switch carriers. I was recently paying $51 a month after tax and
fees for a postpaid plan with 1GB of data with Verizon. I did not have autopay
set up for that plan. When I asked about a Verizon prepaid plan a week ago this
past Saturday, I was told they currently had a promotion to double your data
for a new account. I had to go in and set up a new Verizon online account with
a different user ID but you'll have to do that anyway if you change carriers. I
ended up with a 6GB of data prepaid plan for $43 a month after tax and I also
selected autopay to charge my monthly amount to my credit card which saves me
an extra $5 a month. I'd see if you can get a better deal before changing
carriers.

Because our bill has been $245 and I can't keep paying that and T Mobile
doesn't charge that much.

in some areas Verizon is better while in other areas T-Mobile and Sprint are
better

I'm certainly not leaving Verizon. I only pay $33 per month for my iPhone plan
and that's a pretty good deal in my opinion. Verizon also has a number for
people with disabilities. There customer service is fantastic.

GSM and CDMA are different cellular protocols. AT and T-Mobile were

Yes, you should be able to use your same pass code if you want. Just make sure
Verizon unlocks your phone and stuff from their end if it is locked so that t
mobile can set it up for their carrier. I do not know if Verizon is compatible
with tmobile.

The Verizon accessibility group is great. I recently sent a text to Verizon

I'm certainly not leaving Verizon. I only pay $33 per month for my iPhone plan
and that's a pretty good deal in my opinion. Verizon also has a number for
people with disabilities. There customer service is fantastic.

Hi all. Our regular meeting is scheduled for this coming Monday. Sorry for

brought home a new dog and Paul was admitted to Mercy West hospital today.
He’s pretty sick right now and we don’t know exactly what’s going on.

We’ll have a round table discussion perhaps talking about our favorite or most
useful apps.

Pizza is $5 and if you want to purchase a drink from Carol and Mike it’s 50
cents. Please let me know in advance what kind of drink you’d like. There is
coke, diet coke and coke zero.

Please let me know if you plan to come so I have an accurate count.

God bless!

Re: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

It used to be the case that T-Mobile was GSM and Verizon was CDMA, but
with the move to 4G, this no longer an issue.

Yes, you should be able to use your same pass code if you want. Just make sure
Verizon unlocks your phone and stuff from their end if it is locked so that t
mobile can set it up for their carrier. I do not know if Verizon is compatible
with tmobile.

Well, you get what you pay for.
Why don’t you contact Verizon and see if they can give you a plan that’s more
reasonable?
How many iPhones do you have on your system?

2020-03-04 Thread Carolyn
I can tell you that one passcode I have is related strictly to my phone and
Apple. I have another one that is for AT Before having the one I have for
AT, I had one with Consumer Cellular. So, you'd have to change your phone
company one, but not the one that opens your phone, because I am still using
the one on my 11 from AT to open my phone that I had on my SE from Consumer
Cellular.

Re: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

2020-03-04 Thread PRAMIT BHARGAVA
Hi Shirley,

Before switching to Tmobile you will have to call Verizon and have them
unlock the phone so that it can be used with any other carrier.
And yes, you can use the same passcode on your new phone.

Well, you get what you pay for.
Why don’t you contact Verizon and see if they can give you a plan that’s more
reasonable?
How many iPhones do you have on your system?

2020-03-04 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I'm certainly not leaving Verizon. I only pay $33 per month for my
iPhone plan and that's a pretty good deal in my opinion. Verizon also
has a number for people with disabilities. There customer service is
fantastic.

Yes, you should be able to use your same pass code if you want. Just make sure
Verizon unlocks your phone and stuff from their end if it is locked so that t
mobile can set it up for their carrier. I do not know if Verizon is compatible
with tmobile.

Subject: Question About Transferring From One iPhone Carrier to Another

My husband and I bought our iPhones and iPads from Verizon Wireless a few
years ago and are thinking about changing to TMobile. My question is that I
have a passcode on both my phone, iPad and apple watch. Is there anything I
need to do regarding that before trading my phone with TMobile and can I use
the same passcode on my new phone, watch and iPad?

My husband and I bought our iPhones and iPads from Verizon Wireless a few

need to do regarding that before trading my phone with TMobile and can I use

And you are really not gaining all that much upgrading from an SE to an iPhone
7, a slightly larger phone, a virtual home button rather than a mechanical one,
no headphone jack (some actually would c this as a downgrade) and a slightly
faster processor which in real life you probably barely notice. It’s a
1-generation jump and in my opinion not worth it.

Please understand that here in Mexico, and in Latin America, the economy isn’t
as strong as with you guys, who can easier get hands on most recent iPhones.
It’s getting time to think about to which iPHone I’ll upgrade with my carrier’s
Telcel’s plan renewal in April or May, and I’m beginning to investigate
different options. they’re offering me an iPHone 8 64GB with plan and all, for
$450 (here in Mexican pesos it’s mxn8800), which is kind of a bit expensive,
thus I’m going to have to most likely go with the 7. For those of you guys who
have owned 7s and 8s, camera, processor, and generation of Touch ID, what
advantage would I have with the 7 and or 8?thanks for info.

Cause it doesn't tell you how long it needs to be or anything.

After you get that done what is the next step or steps that one has to

Is this service free and if it does cost is it A one time charge?

Has any one out there used this app?  I am currently using

can set up the intervals in the timer.  It sounds like 1timer

Thanks.

Triggering a link in an email via automated action

2020-03-04 Thread Cristóbal Muñoz
Hello list,

So, I’ve got something set up on my PC for this, but would like to know if a
similar action would be possible for iOS. I also posted this query on the
Shortcuts subreddit and was informed that something like IFTT or Integromat
would be the proper tool for such a task and not shortcuts.

I really haven’t dabbled with shortcuts or IFTT and things like that so am
not too familiar with how this stuff is done. I’ll probably go poking around
for tutorials and stuff, but figured since there were some knowledgeable
folks on here as well, that they’d know what I’m talking about and chime in.

Basically, I’m looking for an automated action to activate an I’m
Available/I’m Not Available link in an email from a specific email address
and specific format sent to a specific email account as the messages come
in.

These emails mainly come in anywhere from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM my time so
waiting around for them to come in just isn’t practicle. They also come in
throughout the day, but mostly in the middle of the night.

Does anyone know if in fact such a task can be created?

Any help/guideance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cristóbal

Re: Importing IntoVoice Dream Reader

2020-03-04 Thread 'Kristeen Hughes' via VIPhone
I use a Mac and have iCloud drive enabled. Wne you set up Voicedream to sync
your files through iCloud, a folder is created on your iCloud drive called
Reader. Thius is the Voicedream folder. In it there is a folder called loader.
I cut and paste files or folders in that folder and they are automatically
imported into Voicedream and are on my iPhone. They are placed in sobfolders in
the library folder that is also under the reader folder on iCloud drive.

That's how I do it. Hope this is clear enough. If not, feel free to ask
questions.

Carolyn, the first thing, take your phone out of the case.
2. locate a very tiny whole on the side of the phone. I don't know where it
would be on the i11, however for an example, the iphone se sim card would be
on the right edge as you're facing the phone. You'll need a paper clip to
pop the tray with the sim card out. The paper clip, That's my preferred tool
since it works well.note: the tray and the sim card both, are very tiny, so
if you do happen to pop your sim card out I recomend doing it over
something, so it won't get lost. if you have any questions just ask and good
luck.

Hello,

Sometimes, it takes a bit of time for the IMEI to show up as unlocked after
it has been locked. It is worth sticking a sim in and seeing what happens if
you have followed the process and are unlocked.
