Scanner with a price increase

  Hi List,

I received a tweet tonight which was sent earlier today stating the Voice
Dream Reader has a new update coming out tomorrow that will include the Voice
Dream Scanner capabilities in Reader. The price will increase from $14.99 to
$19.99 USD. Reader is currently on sale for $9.99 which for those who don't
have it is a great price especially considering that scanning will be included
in it after the update. I don't know when the $9.99 sale price expires but I
just checked the App Store and that price was still available. If you're
interested in getting this app, I'd recommend you do it now.

Re: Voice Dream Reader being updated Sunday to include Voice Dream Scanner with a price increase

2021-01-09 Thread Richard Turner
Thanks Alan, I should check twitter more often. There was a follow-up tweat
that said:

Scanner is still a useful standalone app, for scanning something quickly and
discard. And for creating accessible PDFs from paper documents or images for
distribution. Scanning in Voice Dream Reader is meant to create documents
primarily for use in the Reader app.

Hi Tony,
I think you are marvelously creative and very intuitive to think of these apps.
I love the idea of using your compass app to walk a straight line across a very
wide open area. This is brilliant. Thank you so much for your work!

Blind Compass and Blind Bat - new apps for the blind Hello, My name is Tony
and I wrote two iPhone apps for blind people and recently I published them in
AppStore.
Blind Compass is a compass app specifically designed for blind people. I was
surprised that such an app didn't seem to exist before - or am I missing
something? First, it reports your heading continuously by varying pitch, so
that even with not much musical training you can easily memorize how the right
direction sounds like, and you'll be able to walk in straight line just by
listening to your direction. ALso when your heading crosses North,East, South,
or West you will hear that spoken to you.
I recommend to use Blind Compass with bone conductance bluetooth headphones.
Bone conductance headphones don't block ears, so that you can hear sounds from
the environment, as well as audio feedback from BlindCompasss.
You can also have your heading spoken by either pressing button in the app, or
if you are using bluetooth headphones, you can press play button once.
Second, Blind Compass allows you to lock your direction. Either press lock
button in the app, or press fast forward button on your headphones, or double
press play button on your headphones, and your direction will be locked. You
will hear auditory feedback guiding you back to the original heading. If you
allow Blind Compass to use location data, then it will also count distance
travelled from the point where you locked your location. This way you can cross
vast open space without fear of veering.

Another app I wrote is Blind Bat - and it is designed to help people to learn
echolocation. Maybe I'm not that good at it myself, but I wanted to play around
with it, so I designed an app that would make ideal click, whatever that might
entail. You have a few parameters you can adjust and the app would generate
click sound that conforms to these parameters. You can specify mean frequency,
bandwidth and duration of click.

Telegram, signal, audio messages from your iPhone to another iPhone user, and
maybe FaceTime groups, although of course that doesn’t work cross platform.
Signal in telegram are cross platform. A major issue with signal, if you like

cannot lock the record button like you can on WhatsApp or telegram. You
actually can’t lock the button, but when you do, voiceover goes totally silent

Neither is perfectly accessible. I know you can have groups on telegram. I’m

Deleting one person from a group text message

2021-01-09 Thread Kimberly
Hi all,

If I have a group text message with 10 people in it and I want to delete one
person from the group without having to redo the whole group, re-putting
everyone else and establishing a new group, is there a way to do that? I’m sure
there must be but I can’t think of it at the moment.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
 Kim

Supersense is still unable to process Arabic image pdf files. These files are
beautifully and almost accurately processed when I try with envision.
I hope this will be fixed soon.

 Hi my friends,
I just wanted to reach out and let you know that we've fixed
several of the bugs you have mentioned in our upcoming Supersense update.
We're expecting it to be out this week!

First and foremost, Supersense can now scan PDf documents up to 400
pages, quickly! Some users mentioned a size limitation before, and
we have now expanded this to make sure it should work for everyone.

Regarding speech engines, Supersense will now remember which voice
you have selected, and Samantha will no longer disappear when
another voice is in use. She's pretty far down the list, but she's
 there!
Finally, we have added a magnifier for low vision users. :)

I hope this helps, and let me know if there's anything else we can
do to spruce up the app for you!

 All the best,

Re: Experience with Bluetooth enabled web browsers?

2021-01-09 Thread Ben Mustill-Rose
Hi,

Ok I understand a bit better now.
Before you purchase the device you should make sure that one of the
browsers you mentioned in your first message is accessible.
Unfortunately, once you've confirmed this is the case you'll
essentially have no other option than to buy the vape and see what
happens.

Cheers,
Ben.

Re: handoff

2021-01-09 Thread Robert Doc Wright
I would have thought the same but for some reason handoff on both devices has
to be on. Unlike adding my iPad to the phone list in settings. The watch does
not show there.

I believe handoff is meant to be able to flick between multiple devices /
apps.

So you could go from your phone to your tablet to your watch to your computer
and back to the phone if you realy wanted to

But I don’t know that handoff is really the phone call side of things,

I always thought handoff was document related

I never really thought of it from the phone side of things.

I have absolutely no idea. I only said I have never done that. Perhaps you
could call Apple Accessibility, or just Apple main number and ask. I personally
do not imagine that is something I would do since using the watch for a phone
call uses quite a lot of its battery.

"Why, what did she tell you?"

  "I don't know, I didn't listen."

I've never tried a second handoff. When I have answered a call on the
watch and transferred it to my phone, the icon was way in the upper left kind
of between the cell signal and the first app is the best way I can describe
that.
