Subject: Reminders

Hello all

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a setting to have Reminders open to
the Today folder. I have to hit the back button to get there to mark a
particular reminder completed. I also don't know whythe heading for catagories
of reminders is still headed as 2020 even though the specific reminders are
marked with the correct 2021 designation.

Probably some of you remember how often I've mentioned that the less I have to
swipe or touch a device, the happier I am. It makes no sense to hit on reminder
when notified one has come up only to have to hit the back button to get to the
Today section of the App to markit completed. I do not need to see Scheduled or
whatever other categories are listed. I see I can update, but I don't expect
there will be any additional benefit to updating that particular App. I never
rush to update, and when I do often for the native apps, it's just new names
for things and perhaps a slightly different structure for where things are.
There may be essential changes for other types of Apps, such as the reading
services for the blind, or maybe security patches, but if my phone still did
what my first 4S did, I would not feel like I was missing anything!

Re: Reminders

2021-03-19 Thread Chris Chaffin

There is no setting to get the Reminders app to automatically open to the Today
folder. The only way of accomplishing this is to leave the Reminders app in the
app switcher. While in the app switcher, it will remain in the last folder you
were in.

As far as the folders that you do not use, like scheduled or all. There is a
way of making them disappear.

On the main screen of the list of your folders, just hit the edit button.
You will then have a list of all of the folders that you can have in your
reminder folder list. Just double tap the ones you do not want to unselect them
and turn them off. When done, just make sure to double tap the done button.

Sorry, but do not quite understand your question about the 2020 reminders
versus the 2021. Maybe I could help with more info.

Hope this helps.

Chris

Reminders

2021-03-19 Thread deidreandlouise
Hello all

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a setting to have Reminders open
to the Today folder. I have to hit the back button to get there to mark a
particular reminder completed. I also don't know whythe heading for
catagories of reminders is still headed as 2020 even though the specific
reminders are marked with the correct 2021 designation.

Probably some of you remember how often I've mentioned that the less I have
to swipe or touch a device, the happier I am. It makes no sense to hit on
reminder when notified one has come up only to have to hit the back button
to get to the Today section of the App to markit completed. I do not need to
see Scheduled or whatever other categories are listed. I see I can update,
but I don't expect there will be any additional benefit to updating that
particular App. I never rush to update, and when I do often for the native
apps, it's just new names for things and perhaps a slightly different
structure for where things are. There may be essential changes for other
types of Apps, such as the reading services for the blind, or maybe security
patches, but if my phone still did what my first 4S did, I would not feel
like I was missing anything!

Re: Accessable life game

2021-03-19 Thread Michael Feir
Hello Barbara. I don't know of any replica of a Life Boardgame. However,
there are several life simulation games on iOS. Alter Ego is a classic
which was turned into a Choice Of game. That's the easier one to operate.
By far, the most complex and popular is one called BitLife. Its user
interface is accessible to VoiceOver users and the developer is aware of
blind players. However, some people find all the windows which pop open a
bit harder to deal with. It's well worth mastering given the stupendous
amount of possibilities and well designed mechanics.

In the middle of the road in terms of complexity is one called Life
Simulator. It's certainly deeper than Alter Ego but offers less depth and
scope than BitLife. Hope that helps you out.

Accessable life game

Does anyone know if there is an accessible life game available for apple

years ago, I memorized all the controls for this game and I used to play it all
the time. So I was wondering if an accessible similar game was available for I
devices.

RE: Siri not finding contacts

2021-03-19 Thread Carolyn
Oh my, yes, Debbie. If he has a 5S, I think he needs to update. I have two
friends here, who had them, finally, just had to replace.

Subject: Siri not finding contacts

Hi,

I have a friend who still has an iPhone 5S and all of a sudden when he asks
Siri to text someone, she says that there is no one by that name in contacts.
However, the names are in his contacts. He can reply to a message but can’t
send the initial one. He can make phone calls by using Siri so the names are
definitely in contacts. Anyone have any ideas? I just think that he needs to
get a new phone!

Thanks!

Debbie
