Re: Voice Dream Reader and OneDrive

2022-12-20 Thread Richard Turner
The way I access OneDrive in Voice Dream Reader is to double tap add.
Then, file browser.
Then, if OneDrive is not where you left it, hit the back button until you get
to Locations.
Then, open Locations and flick right to OneDrive.
Make sure you are on the browse tab at the bottom, unless you know the
file/files you want are in recents.
Then, flick through to the file you want and double tap. Then double tap on OK
when it says your file was loaded.
Then find the done button in the upper right and double tap.
Then enjoy your content.

Oh yes, that would be fast.  I just need this so my guide dog school can

I do not know of any apps, but you could get an estimate the old fashion way.
Take a 5 minute walk, and see how far you walk.
Then multiply that distance by 12, and that will give you an estimate of how
far you would walk in an hour.

For example, if you walk a half of a mile in 5 minutes, then one half a mile
times 12, is 6 miles.
So as long as you walk at that same speed, you are walking at 6 miles an hour.

Hope this helps.

However, the Web Browser VDR uses is completely unresponsive on the

Re: I no longer receive notifications from Weather Gods app

2022-12-20 Thread Kathy Blackburn
Per the developer, I uninstalled the app yet again, powered off the phone,
re-started, and re-downloaded Weather Gods. Nothing changed. Since
notifications on other apps work, the reset you are describing seems a bit
drastic to me. I have uninstalled Weather Gods and canceled my subscription. If
I'm ever forced to get a new phone, perhaps I'll re-visit Weather Gods, if it's
still available.

Lyrics in Apple Music with voiceover

2022-12-20 Thread Mary Otten
This is a feature in which has never particularly interested me. But yesterday,
when I was making up a playlist, I somehow must’ve gotten lyrics checked, and
voiceover started reading the lyrics to a song by Styx that I was playing. So
today, I opened up Apple Music, and started to play a song in Russian. I have a
Russian voice on my device, and I had lyrics selected. Nothing was read. Does
that mean that the lyrics feature is only in English? There are a whole lot of
songs on Apple Music that are not in English. There are a whole lot of people
using Apple devices whose first language isn’t English. Or maybe their first
language is English, but they also know some other languages. So is this lyrics
thing just limited to English?

Re: App to tell walking speed

2022-12-20 Thread Chris Chaffin

I do not know of any apps, but you could get an estimate the old fashion way.
Take a 5 minute walk, and see how far you walk.
Then multiply that distance by 12, and that will give you an estimate of how
far you would walk in an hour.

For example, if you walk a half of a mile in 5 minutes, then one half a mile
times 12, is 6 miles.
So as long as you walk at that same speed, you are walking at 6 miles an hour.

Hope this helps.

Chris

App to tell walking speed

2022-12-20 Thread Lisa Belville

Hi, all.

I have a pedometer and various GPS apps on my phone, but none of them
give me my walking speed.  Is there such an app?

I'm using iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 15.7.

Re: How do I delete photos, please.

2022-12-20 Thread Joseph Hudson
Once you found the photo that you wanna delete, double tap on it, and there is
a delete button inside the photo. There's no longer an edit button that I can
tell. I had to pick a date range and then select the photo and then hit delete.
Which I'm not deleting anything out of there. But that's what the delete button
would be.

Re: I no longer receive notifications from Weather Gods app

2022-12-20 Thread Vicky Collins
I’m really sorry that things aren’t working for you with this app. As for the
reset network settings, you would go to settings, general, transfer or reset
iPhone, reset, and finally reset network settings. If you decide to do this,
you will then need to put back in your Wi-Fi password and rename your iPhone
afterwards. I’m sure we can help with that if necessary. Resetting the network
settings is one of the tools that is often used to try and fix things.

Yes I also have an Iphone se 2020 and have been having this problem
recently. I turned off the feature that lets your phone go to speaker
when you take it away from your ear and that helped a little but ended
up resetting my phone. That helped with the audio problem so far but
now have trouble with screen recognition working. It is on but will
not work at all. I've called apple accessabilitybut so far have not
got the problem resolved. Glad I'm not the only one having issues.

Re: I no longer receive notifications from Weather Gods app

2022-12-20 Thread Kathy Blackburn
I have the iPhone 8, running IOS 16.2. Weather Gods support sent me a link to
an article about things to try if you've stopped receiving notifications. The
first ones don't apply: my phone is not on Do Not Disturb; notifications are
not inadvertently turned off, and my news and delivery apps still send me
notifications. The article refers to a "reset network settings" under General
settings. I find no such thing. I am coming close to deciding that the app is
becoming too complicated to be workable and that I should cancel my
subscription and uninstall.
Here's the link to the article:

figured out how the battery caseworks

2022-12-20 Thread deidreandlouise
Hello again

I'm not sure why this did not occur sooner unless the battery case I just
bought was not charged at all or enough to charge my phone. This I don't
really understand because when I asked someone sighted they often told me
the back of the case was lit up and I kept it plugged in for up to 2 ours
which the literature said to do.

Suddenly yesterday I heard the sound of plugging in the
charger when I must have successfully turned my battery case on without any
sighted feedback. The phone was not plugged into an outlet, it simply sat
in the battery case. So the way it works, and maybe they all do, when the
battery case has charge it charges the phone when the case's power is turned
on.

I didn't know this is the way they worked. How I thought they worked was to
take the charge from the battery case first when both the case and phone
were charged. Or, maybe they draw off energy from the phone as usual without
a case, but if you turn the case on, it will charge the phone with whatever
juice the case has, and give the phone what it needs until you don't need it
to charge up anymore.

Now then, I guess if the battery case has nothing more to give, you would
know if your phone goes low and if the battery case is on, it won't say it's
charging up in the status bar anymore. All of this latter process would be
done without a charging cord plugged in.

Is this all obvious to the rest of you who use battery cases? Does this
sound right? I definitely do have a charging case or port of one sort or
another, so at least my $30 got me something.

I don’t get that many phone calls, so hard to pin down, but seems to happen

I have blue tooth hearing aids, and it doesn’t seem to happen when the audio is

Did you pay for an in app purchase for Weather Gods? Don't recall whether
there was a charge for the app back in 2019 when my husband installed this
app.

He does not have anything about restore purchases. The only thing that there
seems to do is to purchase an upgrade for certain features for $1.49 per
month.

Under his notifications for the app, it says that the notifications have
been paused and that you can turn them back on in the device settings but
there is nothing regarding this under notifications and settings other than
acknowledgments.

Subject: I no longer receive notifications from Weather Gods app

I used to receive notifications from Weather Gods: one in the morning
and another in the evening, and additional ones in the event of severe
weather. My iPhone 8 is running IOS 16.2; Weather Gods version is 3.9,
which is the latest one. I stopped receiving notifications weeks ago.
I've settings within the app and in the settings app and don't see
anything amiss. I'd welcome any suggestions. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has an idea on an issue I’m having with a Mantis Q40
and iOS.

Braille works for output and typing text works but for the spacebar. When I
enter a space on the Mantis, nothing is entered in to the program I’m using. I
have to use the touch keyboard on the phone.

Hi friends,

Greetings from Mumbai India.

I am using Iphone 13 Pro and Google Pixel 7. Earlier there used to be a group
for Android called Eyes-free. Is there similar group? if not then is there a
group where both the systems are discussed? I will be grateful for help.

Thank you.

With best wishes,
