RE: Problems with the Music app

2023-03-19 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
What are those other methods? I assume you mean Spotify, Deezer or other
streaming services and of course if you use any of them, the Music app may
indeed be redundant. My wife and I prefer to stick with the Apple ecosystem and
I subscribe to the full family subscription (my Mom is also in that group) and
for that we all get 2 Tb iCloud Storage, Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Fitness
and a bunch more stuff. So in our case the music app is definitely required as
you need it to manage your Apple Music whether you download anything to your
device or simply stream everything.

No, I never use it at all. In my opinion there are much better ways to stream
music than the music app itself. I didn't know if it would be a good idea to
delete it because of it being a native app and possibly needing to be in place
for some odd reason.

Apple apps can be deleted from your IOS device, so this might be the ultimate
solution.

Re: Sharing Voice Dream files?

2023-03-19 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Well, the application to the best of knowledge does not have its own format,
but instead can read PDF, Word and daisy files. (There are probably other
formats too). Sighted people are very familiar with PDF and word files.
The daisy format is essentially a precursor toe pub which is the format that
Apple books uses. There are some differences, for example Daisy is usually
distributed as a zip file that needs to be expanded into a folder before use
while pub is a zip file that has been renamed to have an extension pub.
You can find a list of pub and daisy readers at the daisy.org
 web site.

Hi,

Is it possible to share VDR files with others? And would they be in a format

Thanks,

Could you just go to Compose and then enter the list address or what/whomever
the recipient would be?

Yes, this message does have more detail but as I do all my interaction with
this list on either my iPhone or Windows 10 computer and their email clients, I

Kevin,

1. I’m going to answer using the native Mail app since you
didn’t mention what you use for email on your iPhone. I’m assuming you already
have an account set up in Mail.
2. Open the Mail app.
3. Execute the Compose button which is found at the lower
bottom right of the screen.
4. You will be placed in a To: text box where you should
enter viphone@googlegroups.com . This is a
live link so you might be able to execute it from within an email message you
are reviewing on your iPhone with the Mail app although I’m not exactly sure
what happens in that case.
5. Single finger swipe right to you reach the Subject text
box and enter an appropriate subject for your new message.
6. Single finger swipe right until you hear Message
content, message body which is a large text box for entering your new message
content with the on screen keyboard.
7. After you’ve completed your message, place focus on the
Send button in the top upper right corner of the screen and execute it.

Good luck.

Subject says it all. I’m writing this on my computer using
Apple Mail. I was looking at ViPhone on my phone and wanted to start a new
conversation and couldn’t figure out how. There has to be a way to start a new
topic in this group from one’s phone without starting with an e-mail generated
from Apple Mail. Right? How does one do that?

Subject: Having issues reading the time using Eva full voice on iPhone 13 using
latest iOS

Hi folks,

My preferred voice is the full version of Eva. However, for the last several
iOS iterations, I have noticed that, more often than not, the voice will read
the time incorrectly. What should be spoken as two oh seven PM will end up
being spoken as two minutes zero seconds PM. This is not consistent.
Occcasionally, Eva will read the time as one would expect. But most of the
time I get the misspoken time I demonstrated above. Other voices don't seem to
have this problem. Has anyone ever noticed this with Eva or any other voice?
Is there a recipe for fixing this problem?

Thanks,
Kevin

RE: How do I start a new conversation in this group using my iPhone and not using Mail?

2023-03-19 Thread Alan Lemly
Kevin,

1. I’m going to answer using the native Mail app since you didn’t mention
what you use for email on your iPhone. I’m assuming you already have an account
set up in Mail.
2. Open the Mail app.
3. Execute the Compose button which is found at the lower bottom right of
the screen.
4. You will be placed in a To: text box where you should enter
viphone@googlegroups.com . This is a live
link so you might be able to execute it from within an email message you are
reviewing on your iPhone with the Mail app although I’m not exactly sure what
happens in that case.
5. Single finger swipe right to you reach the Subject text box and enter
an appropriate subject for your new message.
6. Single finger swipe right until you hear Message content, message body
which is a large text box for entering your new message content with the on
screen keyboard.
7. After you’ve completed your message, place focus on the Send button in
the top upper right corner of the screen and execute it.

Good luck.

Alan Lemly

Subject: How do I start a new conversation in this group using my iPhone and
not using Mail?

Subject says it all. I’m writing this on my computer using Apple Mail. I was
looking at ViPhone on my phone and wanted to start a new conversation and
couldn’t figure out how. There has to be a way to start a new topic in this
group from one’s phone without starting with an e-mail generated from Apple
Mail. Right? How does one do that?
