Re: third party speech for IOS?

2024-02-20 Thread Goshawk On Horseback
What did you install it on please? As I know these are available on android, but haven’t known them to be available for iOS. I use one myself on my note20ultra5G, and also used to use it on my note8, and never had Any problems with it at all. Personally I really like these voices, but have heard several people who seem to have issues with them, even though I never have so far, thank the good Lord. Simon, the March Merman. On 19 Feb 2024, at 23:15, Ivan Icin wrote:There are CereProc voices which are high quality and cost 1$/voice. I have just installed one of them. 2024-02-20 Thread Star Gazer
I use the AI on Be My Eyes and on Seeing AI, are there
any others? Found one on the web that said a pic was a screen shot of a receipt
but wouldn’t read the details which is what I cared about, so am looking for
things that are more useful as in read whatever text was there (and there was
text there) and am wondering what folks are using.

Re: third party speech for IOS?

2024-02-20 Thread Ivan Icin
You just need to install the app with such functionality.

You may need to perform additional actions in the app like
downloading/purchasing of the voice.

At the moment two apps offer such functionality (and the second one is very
recent and still buggy):
https://apps.apple.com/rs/app/espeak-ng/id6444089174
https://apps.apple.com/rs/app/cereplay/id1665705245

There are CereProc voices which are high quality and cost 1$/voice.

I have just installed one of them. They do appear to be of solid quality but
are a bit laggy and buggy.
Still I did try them few weeks ago when I couldn’t make anything out of them so

Re: Nest. Learning thermostat.

2024-02-20 Thread David Grossoehme
I've been using a smart Thermostat every since they were invented.  I
have it set to a certain temperature about an hour before getting up and
changing around an hour after going to bed at night.

On 2/19/2024 3:45 PM, Sieghard Weitzel wrote:

If it changes after a while this would indicate that a schedul emay be
in effect. All of these smart thermostats can have schedules and this
may work well for people who have a regular routine, e.g. they get up
at the same time each day, leave for work the same time, come home
around the same time etc. I have two smart thermostats controlling the
two heat pumps/gas furnaces which heat my retail store and in this
situation a schedule is great because from Monday to Saturday we open
each day at 9 AM and close at 6 PM so we usually set the heat to turn
down around 5:30 PM and go up again at 8:30 AM.

But at home I don't have any use for a schedule so it's not set up and
this way the temperature is where I set it until I change it.

Kevin you can go either way.  Either use the App on the phone or use the
settings on the Thermostat.  Unless there is a problem with the app and
it won't work for some reason the job can be done by either way.

Re: Nest. Learning thermostat.

2024-02-20 Thread Parham Doustdar
Hi Jenny,
Sorry, I was waiting until I got to my laptop for a better reply.
So, what I meant re Be my Eyes is that Google is one of the support service
providers that you can call through Be My Eyes. When you do that, and there is
an accessibility issue, they file a bug and keep you updated on its status,
which means that the issue might actually get fixed.
I turned off auto schedule myself. Here is how:

Hey Kevin,Yes sir you were correct I was wanting to know how to delete the schedule off of the app. So yesterday it ended up that one of the neighbors came and she physically did it using where you turn that thing on the thermostat somehow 30 schedules got set. Don’t ask me how it happened. I didn’t set the schedule at least to my knowledge I didn’t thank God they’re all off I’m afraid to even set the thermostat now for fear go to a different setting and I do not want that. Thankfully I’m knocking very lightly on the table. The thermostat has not changed. It’s still at 68°. I have used AIRA for a similar situation with a different thermostat with a flat screen.  They can see where you are putting your finger and guide you to the right place.

Re: Changing the Email Address on my Apple ID

2024-02-20 Thread Lyne
Hello,
The best way to change is by going to
appleid.apple.com
You can add an e-mail and chose it to be the new one.
You have to create your e-mail before if it's not done yet.
