Marie, What device are you using? I am able to use Messenger successfully on my iPhone 5C running iOS 8.2. It is not exclusive to the iPad. Regarding the question of removing Messenger, you can delete it from your phone. However, Facebook has recently changed its iOS and Android apps, making it impossible to send and receive private messages without the Messenger app installed. So, you are welcome to remove it from your device, but you will have to use the FB Web site to send and receive messages. To my knowledge, the two-finger double tap no longer works with iOS 8. Try taking the phone away from your ear so it automatically switches to speakerphone. Then you should be able to hear the End Call button being announced. With the advent of integrated predictive typing in iOS 8, is there really any use for Fleksy? I'm really curious about this, since I don't have much experience with the app. Does it do something that the feature in the keyboard doesn't? A Question about Pages
Hello All, I am a fairly new member of the list and, as such, I apologize for not doing an introduction email. To give some background on me, I'm a high school student from Maryland who you may have seen on some National Federation of the Blind (NFB) listservs, on which I am also active. Currently I use an iPhone 5C running iOS 8.1.2. I mostly use my iPhone connected with a Braille display. Currently I use a BrailleNote Apex for this purpose; however, I will soon switch to a stand-alone display, probably a Braille Edge. With this in mind, I have a question about the Pages wordprocessing app. I have noticed that in Pages a multi-page document will appear with separate text fields for each page. For example, if a document has 3 pages, 3 separate text fields will appear. Lately, even if I click on the text field for the second page, I will remain in the first page and cannot get to the second. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Terri, I see from your email address that you have a Gmail account. In order to delete an email from this provider on your iPhone, you have to double tap the move button, then select the Trash folder. Unfortunately, the only way to delete multiple emails at once is to: 1. Open your Inbox. 2. Double tap the Edit button. 3. Double tap on each email one by one to select it. 4. Go down to the bottom of the screen and double tap the Move button. On the Move screen, double tap on the trash folder. All selected emails will then be moved to the trash folder. David and Others, There is a workaround for this which I have found to work most of the time. If you would like to delete an app which is close to the dock, double tap and hold on another app which is further away from it. When VO announces that the app on which you double tapped is editing, move to the app you actually want to delete and double tap. The standard deletion alert will appear and you can click the delete button as normal. I agree, however, that this is an accessibility issue and ought to be reported to Apple; I plan to do this as well.
