If you exclusively use Apple devices, you can even use the Apple password manager / keychain for these authentications, then a simple arrow key will auto fill the value on Mac and the same features used to
save your password will be used for the one time 6 digit code.

I’ve only done this once, and it involved bringing up the password tab in Safari Preferences or the Passwords area of IOS settings.

Does anyone have any experience with the above iPhone apps as far as accessibility?

I think this is a bug that was addressed in 17.01 or possibly 17.02.
You may have to make sure both phones are up to at least release before this
works correctly

Re: How do I lock the orientation of my Ipad?

2023-10-21 Thread Matt White
You are looking at the settings panel for the control center, you need the
actual control center.
If it’s a newer device without a home button, you can pull down from the top of
the screen, two clicks, instead of three like you do for notifications.

Re: Wi-Fi Downloading VS Celular.

2023-10-03 Thread Matt White
It is certainly possible for Wi-Fi to be slower than cellular, but, this is usually not the case.  Your Wi-Fi router/access point is more than seven years old, I could foresee cellular being faster, assuming you have access to LTE or 5G ultra wideband.A poorly optimized Wi-Fi network can also be slow, especially if you live in a congested area, like an apartment complex. But, if Wi-Fi is set up correctly and is reasonably modern, it will usually be pretty fast. And, like Richard said, You are not going to run into nearly as many data limits with Wi-Fi as you would with typical cellular. Sent from my iPhoneOn Oct 3, 2023, at 19:20, Richard Turner wrote:Generally speaking, Wi-Fi is much faster than cellular. Hi Everyone,
Can someone please tell me when downloading an update using cellular will the download take a long time, or will it take the same amount of time when downloading with Wi-Fi? I can’t keep my Wi-Fi connections on my XR iPhone 16.6.1 for some
strange reason.  I’ve just talked to Apple support, and we thought we had it rectified, but as soon as we hung up the phone, I lost my Wi-Fi connections again.  The Apple rep and I turned on Airplane mode, and restarted the phone, turned Airplane mode back
off, turned on Wi-Fi again, and all was well, until we hung up the phone.  The Apple rep suggested I download the 16.7 update to see if that would help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Apple Watch Ultra, who has one and would you buy it again?

2023-09-16 Thread Matt White
I bought one at the end of May and really like the battery life and the action button. I started out with a 45 mm watch a few years ago, but my last couple have been 41 mm and switching to the ultra feels significantly larger than either of those. For one, the watch is much thicker. I traded watches with someone for about a week, so they could try out the ultra, and I didn’t depreciate their watches battery life, but the size was a nice change, felt much less obtrusive. With all that said, I don’t think I’m going back, for no other reason than the battery life. The larger screen makes the keyboard and other controls much easier to interact with. Sent from my iPhoneOn Sep 15, 2023, at 16:04, Sieghard Weitzel wrote:

Subject more or less says it. We are considering upgrading from our Apple Watch series 5 to the series 9 and I do like the idea of the features and battery life of the Ultra, but not sure if I would like the size.
Anybody who bought the Apple Watch Ultra last year, do you regret getting such a large watch?
Ultimately it comes down to putting one on my wrist which unfortunately isn't so easy because the nearest Apple Store to where we live is about 700 miles away in Vancouver. There are a couple of stores who sell the Apple Watch here mostly
in connection with a carrier plan, but none of these stores stocks an Ultra. But Facebook to the rescue, I just posted on one of our local "Ask a question" type groups if anybody here had one and would be willing to let me put it on my wrist and I received
 an answer within 15 minutes.
Of course it helps also that we live in a town with a population of 5000 where if you live in town nothing is far away, then there is the fact that I have had my retail business on Main Street for 23 years and that I am the only blind guy
with a guide dog in town and just everybody at least knows me by sight if not by name. Anyways, one of my customers will stop by tomorrow to show me his, but still I am curious what other Voiceover users have to say about especially if you may have had a regular
Apple Watch before and upgraded to an Ultra last year.

Take care,
Sieghard

Thinking about this, the best way I can describe it is to say hold your phone in your hand or hands, about foot in front of your face, with your elbows close to your sides, and your hands about shoulder height. Try doing the capture like that and see what happens. Sent from my iPhoneOn Aug 1, 2023, at 07:01, Sandra Finley wrote:I hate to admit this, but if I can’t ask fellow blind folks, then what is the point of a list like this? The app is actually called Measure; there is a Level tab. Use this

Re: Time to screen lock?

2023-04-11 Thread Matt White
If the option is unavailable, I would suspect that you have recently installed
a new configuration profile. These are often associated with enrolling a
personal phone with a corporate provider/management entity, or possibly if you
sign up with a new cell phone provider. If you haven’t done either of these
things recently, and you don’t know why this option is restricted, it may be
worth reviewing the rest of your security options.

Podcast audio editing apps?

2020-01-06 Thread Matt Gilman
I have been thinking about starting a podcast. I have been doing some research
and I have figured out how to record the audio but I can't find any accessible
editing software.. I am not opposed to buying software but I would really like
to mess around for a while before I invest money especially since I am not 100
percent sure that I want to do this. I would also prefer to edit on the phone
if at all possible but I also have a Mac if that is the only option.

I have downloaded menu audio editing apps but none of them seem to really work
with voiceover. I have heard of people using garage band. I have tried to use
it many many times but I can't figure out how to use it. Any and all
suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt.

RE: Enter an apple id without entering payment details(pritty urgent)

2015-12-23 Thread Matt
Yes or you can use a pay pal account . what I use is a gift card myself. I
don't put my credit card or debit card up on iTunes. You can also go to
someplace like Walmart and get a refillable credit card from them and use it .
This way you put the amount you want on the card . and when it is gone it is
gone. I like just using a iTunes gift card myself. You can even order one
online from Walmart or most any place they sell iTunes gift cards online.

Fair enough but what if you don't have a credit card? This is why they allow
you to redeem an iTunes gift card and bypass the payment details altogether.

Hi, when it comes to photos they are lot of time just stored in the cloud and

Subject: iCloud restoration issue.

Hi all.
So, my new phone that I've only had for 5 weeks shattered and my insurance
allowed me to get a replacement. So before I activated the replacement, I
backed up the shattered phone to Icloud. Well... it seems like my new phone
didn't restore everything completely. How can I go into iCloud on my new phone
and choose a backup to restore? Or, can I? I wouldn't worry about it but a lot
of photos of my new Seeing Eye dog were lost.
Thanks for any help.

I thought photos were backed up. There's an option in iCloud that says
photos... not sure because some of them were restored.

Subject: Constantly being prompted for iCloud password

Not sure why but as of a couple of weeks ago, I am repeatedly being asked to
enter in my PW in settings. This is on my iPhone 6s plus running IOS 9.2. I
enter it in and its accepted just fine but a few hours later, I'm asked to do
it again and so it goes. Before I call Apple support, does anyone have a clue
what this might be and how to fix it?

Best regards,

Rick Alfaro

Is the battery dead? Have you tried hooking it to a power source in case the

Well, another chapter in the saga of my dead iPod Touch.

After restoring it and re-downloading apps I laid it on my nightstand. When I
picked it up a few minutes later it was totally dead again. No screen, no Seri
and no speech or sounds. It doesn't even ping when I attach the power cord.

Unless anyone has further advice, I guess it is really dead now. I don't know
how because it has not suffered a fall or bang or anything

Please try the following steps.
Assuming the USB cable is still connected to both iPod and computer:

1. Press and hold the home and sleep/wake buttons for at least ten seconds.

2. After that time, release the sleep/wake button and keep the home button held
down until iTunes detects the iPod in recovery mode. Release the home button.

3. Once iTunes detects the iPod in recovery mode, click the restore button.

Good luck.

yes but you can buy more storage. Storage is cheap right now. Also you can back
up your photos to some other cloud storage as well if you already have one. Or
just get a USB thumb drive and back it up to it.

RE: Constantly being prompted for iCloud password

2015-12-23 Thread Matt
Yes I think maybe a restore would fix it but not sure. You would want to say
do a restore and put it back as a new device and then do another restore and
put it back from backup. This way it would put everything new on the device as
far as the OS is concern and then put all your settings and app and such back
in place when you did the restore and put it back from a backup. Just remember
not to back up your device after the restore and putting it back as a new
device.

Fair enough but what if you don't have a credit card? This is why they allow
you to redeem an iTunes gift card and bypass the payment details altogether.

What are you guys using for a Twitter app on your phone? The Twitter app since
it's been updated his really bad with voiceover. I don't want to spend money on
a Twitter app if it's not accessible. I thought I would ask here first before I
start downloading more apps. If you guys can suggest something I would really
appreciate it. I would like a pretty smooth clean app if possible. I don't
want something with too much information in it.
Thanks,

Talking tuner

2012-12-17 Thread Matt Gilman
Hello everyone,
So I was searching the App Store today and I came across this app. I remember
seeing a few post earlier this year where people were looking for a guitar
tuning app. Well this one does the trick because it's designed for the visually
impaired. I have not used it with a guitar yet but from what I can tell I think
it will work pretty well. Below is the link to the App Store.
Hope you all enjoy it.
