Word game puzzle between 2 users?

2021-10-12 Thread Steve Spamer
Hi.

A year or so ago, I came back to IOS and the iPhone after owning an Android
device for about 4 years, prior to that I had an iPhone 4. I remember having
a word puzzle game that 2 users could play, but I can't remember it's name.

Basically, you were given a number of letters to create a word with and you
got a score depending on the strength of that word, the winner was the
person with the best score of course.

So, does anyone know what that game was from the description or does anyone
know of an accessible game that allows 2 people to play with words, similar
to the Dice World concept?

Best steve.

RE: Dice World, am I missing something?

2014-03-18 Thread Steve Spamer
Raul, yes, don't misunderstand me, I appreciate all of that. As a new user
of the game, I obviously didn't know how this game is supposed to work. Now
I know you're supposed to have lots of active games on the go, I'm clear on
things. It will be interesting to see how quickly someone gets the turn, if
I can persuade my son to install it lol. Cheers Steve.

Hi Steve. What happens if I am playing with you and when I take my turn you
are sleeping? Should I wait for you to wake up and go about your normal life
and then take your turn after, or should you wake up immediately to take
your turn so I don't have to wait so long? smile.
Please don't take this as sarcasm, but as thinking of it from the other way
around. When you play a game like Dice World, you will play against real
people who have real lives and who might live in a different part of the
world as yourself. So, to minimize the long wait times if that's not what
you want to do, then you might consider only playing with people in your
same time zone, but even then you have the real life factor to deal with.
There are times when I go through my turns in the morning before I go to
work, or while I'm on my way to a client's home.
So it can vary. There are times when I'm bored at night and take a few turns
before going to bed. Other times I go a couple of days without taking my
turn. You have up to 5 days to take your turn before you forfeit. So, I
think this is generous. There have been a few players who have stopped
playing with me because I sometimes take 1 or 2 days to respond, but that is
ok because I can't keep up with more than 25 games at the same time if
players want me to take my turn just as soon as they do. There are times
when I have an hour to kill and will play 3 or 4 games in a row with one
player and ignore the rest of the games because I know that he/she is online
at that time and it's like we are playing face to face. You just gotta find
what works right for you is all.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Christopher, I've put on some ringtones via Copytrans already. It's

Sounds like you might be talking about a program like DropBox. It

Google Drive, Ubuntu One and One Drive from Microsoft are other

Exactly Raul. I have a life too outside of Dice World or any other game that
I play with people. I hate it when people rush me to take my turn,
especially in RS Games or the Playroom. It's really degrading hearing
someone tell you to Play, when you're doing something else. Oh yeah since
people are saying what their usernames are, on Dice World and RS it's BBS
and in the Playroom it's bbsshawn.

VO Gestures

Hi, I came across some new gestures for VO, introduced in IOS7 apparently.
Non seem to work for me, could anyone confirm they work? Also, I think the

again, doesn't work for me, the app switcher is just launched. Previously
on my 3GS, the triple click setting was in the accessibility settings, but I

Or possibly Copy Trans Manager? Dropbox is great, but if you don't have a
large data plan, accessing your files things without using a wireless
network could be iffy.

Once you have things configured to your liking, though, iTunes isn't so bad.

Thanks,
Ari

RE: Dice World, am I missing something?

2014-03-17 Thread Steve Spamer
Yep, appreciate that, but this is when I take my turn immediately after I've
got the notification. Also, my son said one of the players is in france,
which is only 1 hour ahead, anyway, we'll see how it goes, cheers steve.

I would say, Time difference from Country to Country.

The other player could be in The USA, Australia, or anywhere else in the
World for that matter.

Best regards,

Del/Crazy Horse.

Subject: Dice World, am I missing something?

Hi folks. Ok so I've got Dice World and I've set up some Farkle games, but
what I don't quite get is the time difference between turns? I currently
have 3 games active, but it can take 9 hours or more for the other person to
take their turn!!! Now is this because they are waiting that long? or is it
something to do with the game sending that information to that player?

Anyway, it's a fun little game, but I can't see myself playing it, if it
takes over a week to play a game lol! Advice please! Cheers Steve.

Copy-Pasting music etc on to the iphone?

2014-03-12 Thread Steve Spamer
Hi, I'm new to the list, so hi to everyone. I've heard there's a windows
program that allows you to copy and paste files to and from the PC and an I
device. Does anyone know of such a program?, as it would be nice to bypass
iTunes if possible. Many thanks Steve.
