RE: Voiceover navigating bluetooth keyboard

2018-09-26 Thread amedlar1
I think BT keyboards vary.
Here are some of my notes but sometimes keys have multiple functions.
Quick Nav on off left and right arrow keys together
Keyboard help VO+K, escape to close help
UP+down arrowKeys together is like double tapping
go to Home screen VO+H
go to app switcher VO+HH
Close App OptionKey+UpArrow
Move between pages: OptionKey+RightArrow back OptionKey+leftArrow
Top of Page control+upArrow

Subject: Voiceover navigating bluetooth keyboard

Hi all, I have chose a bluetooth keyboard and currently trying it out. I have a
few VO questions.

Mostly I’m wondering if it is a Voiceover thing or the hardware keyboard.
Navigating with control-option-command is not responsive most of the time.

Quick-nav seems to come on and off frequently. Is there a rotor setting for
quick-nav?

Is there a way to force the onscreen keyboard to appear?

Lastly, how do I get to the top of the screen with the keyboard?

Thank you,
Traci
PS. I must say, I love typing this way. It is faster for me than even my
braille display.

RE: How many GB is IOS 12?

2018-09-25 Thread amedlar1
Thanks, what is DFU?

I have 27 apps or 25%, Facebook largest at 513 MB.

I have 144 photos which is 78.1 MB.

1.79 GB space available.

Version 12.0 168366

All above seems okay but next time I’ll install from ITunes. At least that is
what I read on web.

I did a backup today to this PC.

I forgot when I first tried to upgrade to IOS 12 I got an error. Tried again
and successful message.

There is nothing for you to manually clean-up after an install. Once you have
a good install on the device the installer performs the clean-up.

Keep in mind not all developers do a nice and tidy clean-up, Facebook comes to
mind. My current Facebook app is consuming 1 GB of space on my 8 Plus. The
only real way to reduce that back down to about 140 MB is to delete the app,
and download the app again. Since I typically do a DFU reset on my phones once
a year I typically don’t worry about apps that don’t clean-up nicely after
themselves.

The download sizes vary between the different devices. For example I have an
iPhone 8 Plus and an iPhone 8 and there are two different downloads required
when updating each device.

I have updated my 8 Plus and the download to disk was just shy of 4 GB, my
updated phone shows that the iOS is using almost 10 GB on the actual phone.
The downloaded file is a compressed file which is extracted, installed and then
cleaned up. The physical install file is still on my Mac hard drive, but any
temporary files used during install should be cleaned up after a successful
install onto the phone.

My phone is a 64Gb model and at the top it says that I am using only 18.7

If the System takes up 8.74 GB that means I am using 9.96 for apps, here Auible

2.49 Gigabytes, Facebook is next with 540.7 Megabytes so these two apps alone

It is around 2GB. Can you update via a computer using iTunes?

Since you only really have a bit over 12 GB to start with on a 16 GB device, it
is a pretty high percentage of your storage space.

Hi,

When you choose to update, iOS checks to see if there's enough room. If not, it
offers to delete some apps and then put them back after the update is complete.
I've done this a couple of times, and it always worked fine.

Best,

Anna

On my iPhone SE for instance, it was only 1.36GB. Bigger than maybe 1.50 or so
it doesn’t get; so you’d have more than enough space update.update.

It is around 2GB. Can you update via a computer using iTunes?

Since you only really have a bit over 12 GB to start with on a 16 GB device, it
is a pretty high percentage of your storage space.

Thanks. I don’t know how to update to IOS 12 using ITunes because phone
already updated to IOS 12. I have no idea how to go back.

I read that it is better to update with ITunes rather than on phone.
