Can you explain more as to how you can have two accounts on an Echo and how to switch? I'd love to know, but it may also be that this is simply not possible yet with Amazon Canada, we also don't have the option yet to set up a Family group. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of kellmast...@gmail.com Sent: Friday, December 7, 2018 10:47 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Alexa will also get a Skype skill, was: Apple Music comes to Amazon Echo smart speakers starting December 17th | MacDailyNews Seems like you would each add your separate apple music subscriptions to your separate Amazon accounts and go as normal from there as two accounts can exist on one Echo device and switching between them is easy peasy. I recently signed up for the free Amazon Unlimited trial and was seriously thinking of keeping it because of how well it works with my Sonos system, but my wife and I have an Apple Music family membership and I certainly won't keep the Amazon Unlimited subscription if I can use Alexa to play from my Apple Music subscription. I am curious how this may work with family memberships where my wife and I both use Apple Music with our own Apple Id's. It says you get 2 month of free Skype calls to mobiles and landlines in 34 countries. It doesn't say anything that you have to keep that subscription afterwards and I think you can still make calls to other people who have Skype. This is no different than if you use Skype on the iPhone or your computer. I am pretty sure it works off whatever you have for your Skype account already. Though listed as a skill to set up on the Kindle fire, Skype with Alexa doesn’t work on it. Furthermore, at least for now, you are actually subscribing to a Skype 100 minute around the world plan, would you find out about after getting the email notification. After a chat on Skype with one of their reps, I learned that I would have to upgrade in order to be charged anything, so, for me that was a good thing. > On Nov 25, 2018, at 1:48 AM, Julie Dawson wrote: > > How does one enable the skype skill? > Live simply, > Love generously, > Care deeply, > Speak kindly > And leave the rest to God! > Please join me on > www.gamesgaloreandmore.com > where through learning, friendship, activities, and growth, together we can > build a site to be proud of. > > > - Original Message - From: "Merv Keck" > To: > Sent: Saturday, December 01, 2018 6:34 PM > Subject: RE: Alexa will also get a Skype skill, was: Apple Music comes to > Amazon Echo smart speakers starting December 17th | MacDailyNews > > > Hi, > I wrote to Sonos Support and asked if Apple Music will have the same voice > support that Spotify now enjoys on Sonos. Given how often such things are kept under the hood I am not surprised about the answer you received, Sonos probably is not letting the cat out of the sack until the feature is rolled out. I guess the good news is that in a little more than 2 weeks you and everybody else will find out. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Merv Keck Sent: Saturday, December 1, 2018 10:35 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Alexa will also get a Skype skill, was: Apple Music comes to Amazon Echo smart speakers starting December 17th | MacDailyNews Hi, I wrote to Sonos Support and asked if Apple Music will have the same voice support that Spotify now enjoys on Sonos. You don't have to be a prime customer, to subscribe, to music unlimited, it just works out a bit cheaper if you are. I definitely have Apple Music. I had Amazon for a while, got it on prime day deal, and then canceled it, because I didn’t use it very much. I like Apple Music. And since I just got HomePods, there’s no way I would go back to Amazon music instead of Apple. I don't have either Amazon music or Apple Music at this time but have thought about subscribing to one but not both. Because I am a Prime member, Amazon is less expensive but I have found that purchasing music from them is really difficult these days and for that reason I am more reluctant to use them. So, having said all that, do people overall have any preference between these services? Wow, I'm really excited to hear this. I've been struggling over which music subscription service to keep (I subscribe to both amazon unlimited and apple music). Admittedly, I was leaning toward unsubbing from apple music, but didn't because I have so many personal playlists I just didn't have the time or the inclination to recreate on the amazon service. Also, I find creating playlists far less intutive on the amazon platform. So this news makes me very happy.
