Re: Deleating mail on the iphone

2014-03-02 Thread Daniel
Thank you for everyone giving me instructions on how to change it to trash. I
have now done so and they seem like they do go from the list of messages.

No, Archive will move the messages into the archive folder. If you want to

into Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars and double tap on your account.
Double tap on your account again in the following screen and double tap on
the advanced button. Now you can go down to move discarded messages and
select deleted messages folder instead of archive folder. You will now see
delete and trash instead of archive. I explained this in an earlier message
in this same thread just earlier today, so I apologize to anyone on the list
who's seeing this a second time in such a short period of time.

Re: Deleating mail on the iphone

2014-03-01 Thread Apple boy

This question pops up all the time. Just saying and will answer below.
To delete a message which can only be done one by one, focus to the
message and then do a one finger swipe up to trash. Then double tap.
Before you do the one finger swipe up make sure the rotor is on actions.
It usually is but if the command doesn't work then that might suggest
the rotor is on something other than actions.

Hope this helps.

Re: Deleating mail on the iphone

2014-03-01 Thread Christopher Chaltain
If you're seeing an archive option instead of delete or trash, then you
want to go into Settings - Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select your
account. Now select your account again and double tap the advanced
button. Now you can go down and set move discarded messages into your
deleted messages folder. Now you'll see the delete button at the bottom
of each message and you can flick to the trash option in your in box.
This is one of the reasons this question pops up so much on list.

No, Archive will move the messages into the archive folder. If you want

You will now see delete and trash instead of archive. I explained this
