RE: I want to get apple tv and wonder what's needed to make it accessible and other info you can give

2014-11-15 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Larry,

If the Apple TV is hooked up to the TV via the HDMI cable and the TV has an
analogue audio output then this will work fine. I assume Rob is using the
headphone jack of the TV which he connects to a set of powered speakers. This
will mute the TV at the same time.

Sieghard

How do you get the apple tv to play through your television? I know the HDMI
port will send video and audio into your television but if you want to hook up
a sound system, you have to have either a fiber optic cable or some kind of
converter.

Here is a little more info for those of you thinking avout purchasing a Apple
TV.
My TV has a 3.5mm headPhone jack.
I used that jack to connect to my powered amplified speakers, so now my TV as
well as the Apple TV plays through my speakers without me having to purchase a
optical cable and a AB system that connects to optical devices.
And now I have a question.
If I press the bottom right button three times, will it toggle VoiceOver on and
off?

RE: I want to get apple tv and wonder what's needed to make it accessible and other info you can give

2014-11-15 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Rob,

You actually have to press and hold that button for a moment and it will not
directly toggle Voiceover on the Apple TV, but it will bring up a menu and the
first item is Voiceover. So, if you push and hold for a moment then the menu
comes up and if /Voiceover is on the option is to turn Voiceover off and you
just press Enter. Now when Voiceover is off and you don’t have feedback you can
still do this by repeating the same thing, push and hold for 2 seconds or so,
then make sure you don’t move the cursor and just press enter.

2014-11-14 Thread Larry Lumpkin
Hi. You will absolutely need a digital tv with a resolution of at least 720p
and more if possible. The tv must ahave an aHDMI output port. If you want to
hear audio athrough a sound asystem, your receiver or other equipment must have
a tos-link (fiber-optic) input port or you will need an analog to optical
adaptor of asome sort.
