RE: Persistent Annoying Issues In The Mail App

2020-01-30 Thread Nicki Keck
Tom, I am having them too. I am no longer having the threading issue only
because I turned off threading for now because it's more trouble than it's
worth to me right now. I keep hoping for improvement and being disappointed.
I, too, use a braille display sometimes and it's really important for me to be
able to use the mail app efficiently, which I don't feel able to do right now.

Subject: Persistent Annoying Issues In The Mail App

Hi all,
I’m running an iPhone 8 with IOS 13.3.1. Every time I update IOS I keep hoping
that maybe, just maybe, Apple will finally fix the following issues that I’m
having with the native Mail app.
First, when flicking through a list of messages then deleting one, it’s highly
unlikely that focus will remain at the message before the one that I just
deleted. There’s no telling where focus will be, but more often than not I end
up having to scroll or flick back down through the list to a message that I
want to read, at which time I can open it.
Second, if I open a message thread that I’ve never viewed, odds are pretty good
that the message that pops up is not the first message in the thread, and I
have to use the rotor, select Messages, then flick up until I find the first
message. As a side note, VO will speak the number of the message that I land
on, for example, Message 2 or Message 3, et cetera, but that information won’t
show up on my Braille display. And don’t even get me started on how flakey
Braille support can be.

Is anybody else having these issues, or am I the lone voice crying out in the
wilderness?

Tom

Re: Persistent Annoying Issues In The Mail App

2020-01-30 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I have the same focus issue. I've also seen issues where expanded
threads don't display correctly. For example, I'll see messages in the
thread displayed outside of the thread in the mail list. I'll also
delete the second message in a thread and then have two entries left for
the one message left in the thread. It doesn't indicate anywhere that
the thread is still expanded or even that there is a thread any more.
Unfortunately these issues are kind of intermittent, so it may be hard
to reproduce and debug.

And, as for deleting messages, about half of the time I stay where it
should, but just as often, I end up either back several messages, or
on the back button.

And I'm on the beta for what that is worth.

Persistent Annoying Issues In The Mail App

2020-01-30 Thread Tom Lange
Hi all,
I’m running an iPhone 8 with IOS 13.3.1. Every time I update IOS I keep hoping
that maybe, just maybe, Apple will finally fix the following
issues that I’m having with the native Mail app.

Is anybody else having these issues, or am I the lone voice crying out in the
wilderness?

Tom
