They are aware of this. On my keyboard I was asked to press VO+space to see if
that opens the edit field.

I had noticed this too, but this in fact has been a bug if you want to call
it that for years off and on. The fact is that as long as you know it double
tapping first on last name and starting there, then go to first name and other
fields becomes second nature and as far as bugs go it’s so minor that for me
it’s not worth the time it takes to write an email about it. I am not saying
those who find it more annoying shouldn’t write that email, but to me it simply
makes no difference if I first enter the first name or the last name.

If you can even just get the contact in there, you always can go to it and
edit. That way, you can have first name first and so on.

I’m running 13.4.1. I think that’s the most recent release anyway.

Hmm, I’ll have to try choosing a different field before attempting to fill in
the first name. Thanks for that tip. Sounds like it still may need to be
reported though.

Re: Potential bug when creating a new contact from an unknown caller

2020-04-29 Thread Kimberly
I’m running 13.4.1. I think that’s the most recent release anyway.

Hmm, I’ll have to try choosing a different field before attempting to fill in
the first name. Thanks for that tip. Sounds like it still may need to be
reported though.

RE: Potential bug when creating a new contact from an unknown caller

2020-04-29 Thread Rob Armstrong
I’m not sure which iOS version you have.

I had this problem recently with iOS 12.4. I couldn’t enter anything into the
first name field. I selected another field like last name. I entered
something there. Then I was able to go back to the first name field and
successfully enter the name.

Subject: Potential bug when creating a new contact from an unknown caller

Hi,

It would be great if someone could confirm this or else tell me what I’m doing
wrong.

Whenever I get a call from an unknown number for which I want to create a new
contact, I find I can’t type anything into any of the edit fields such as first
or last name or email. This is true with both the onscreen keyboard as well as
a bluetooth keyboard.

Simply adding a new contact (not from an unknow number) works fine.

If this is a bug I will report it to Apple.

Thanks,

Kim
