Re: Preserving batteries

2023-12-04 Thread Michael Irons
Are usually leave my iPhone plugged in until the battery is charged between 90 and 100%. I unplug my phone and try to plug it back in and the battery is between 40 and 20%. I am not perfect at this. I have let the battery run down more than I wanted. From all the people I have talked to they have told me that it was not good to leave that iPhone plugged in all the time. I do have a phone that I use as a back up phone. I’ll leave that one plugged in all the time.Sent from my iPhoneOn Nov 30, 2023, at 10:04 AM, Dennis Long wrote:Yes it isn’t good to leave it plugged in all the time.  Just like it isn’t good to only charge to 70 or 80 percent. From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Jody ianuzziSent: Wednesday, November 29, 2023 9:05 AMTo: viphone@googlegroups.comSubject: Re: Preserving batteries Thank you! Modern lithium batteries actually do not have to be fully discharged or almost
fully, in fact, the recommendation is to not do this and to charge when you get
down to between 40% and 20% and to then charge to between 80% and 100%; it's
totally fine to unplug your iPhone from the charger when it's at 89% or 93% or
whatever.

I'd suggest to run down your backup phone as much as you can. I've had my
phone run down to 4 or 3% before recharging it. I use my phone for book

Re: Preserving batteries

2023-11-28 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I'd suggest to run down your backup phone as much as you can. I've
had my phone run down to 4 or 3% before recharging it. I use my phone
for book reading and watching movies all the time and it is really
cool.

Preserving batteries

2023-11-28 Thread Jody ianuzzi
I have a back up phone that I would like to use for reading books etc. When I
had a back up phone in the past I kept it plugged in all the time and
apparently this killed the battery. How can I use this backup phone in such a
way that I do not destroy the battery?
