RE: Dual SIM iPhone SE?

2021-12-23 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi Fazil

Don’t quote me on this but I would suggest using the e sim for your local /
primary provider because that is the one that is going to stay with you longer,

Then when you travel you can purchase / obtain the standard nano sim from a
provider and it’s a lot simpler and quicker to swap over the nano sim card.

Swapping a nano sim is a 30 second operation

Changing the e sim I believe can be timely within providers systems.

Good luck with your travels.

Re: Dual SIM iPhone SE?

2021-12-23 Thread Cris Ali
I have my American number active on the e-sim of my iPhone. This way I
have the physical nano sim card tray available for travel. Since I
usually travel to more than one country, I find this very convenient.
When I am in a European country I insert in the tray a sim card from
that European country. If I am visiting the Middle East, I put in the
tray the sim card of the Middle Eastern country I am visiting. It is
important to remember that it is much easier to buy a physical card than
to activate an e-sim card. The e-sim has to be ordered ahead of time and
then later be activated by calling customer's service of the phone
provider, while the physical sim can be purchased from any phone store.

Cheers,

I personally think it's probably safer to switch your main provider to eSIM
unless you know for sure the local provider where you are going will have eSIM

RE: Dual SIM iPhone SE?

2021-12-23 Thread Fazil M.
Thanks much, Sieghard.

One more question:

Does it matter whether I am taking E-SIM from my main provider or from a local
provider in Saudi Arab? Or, does the E-SIM have to be from the main provider
only?

Thanks

OK, I do apologize for that one. But the information that I posted earlier the
rest of it is correct. Because I talk to an Apple representative about this.
Meaning if there an in VNO, they may not support eSIM. So it's best to check
with the carrier at hand first.

Re: Dual SIM iPhone SE?

2021-12-23 Thread joseph hudson
Hello, FSTC, is a knock off carrier such as virgin mobile in Canada, then
they're more than likely not going to support the eSIM. And secondly, the
iPhone SE 2020 does not support the eSIM.

Re: Dual SIM iPhone SE?

2021-12-23 Thread Cris Ali
Not all foreign providers have e-sim capabilities. In theory you can. Ask your
foreign provider if they implemented the e-sim technology on their network.

RE: Dual SIM iPhone SE?

2021-12-23 Thread Richard Turner
Ask your provider.

Or, ask Apple.

I know you can have an eSIM from local and get physical SIM cards when
traveling.
I have no idea if the reverse is true.
