Ask Siri to open it, it has to be there since it is one of the Apple apps.

Hi. My girlfriend has an iPhone 6 running IOS 9.0, as I do. I don't know how
this happened or when, but the Facetime app is missing from her phone and we
can't find it anywhere. I've gone through all of her home screens and various
folders, and tried finding it using spotlight search, with no luck. How would
it have disappeared, and how do we get it back? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Facetime Is Missing

2015-09-25 Thread 'carol.pearso...@googlemail.com' via VIPhone

OK, it's probably there still. This happened to me in Version 8.

Ask Siri to go to Facetime and see if you get it. If you do then that
probably means that it's hidden between two others somewhere. Try to back
out and see where that takes you, but remember you may not see it. It could
also be hiding in a folder which has been, perhaps inadveertently, created.

I can't remember any more detail as to how I got it to be seen again but
think I just moved some things off the page.

RE: Facetime Is Missing

2015-09-24 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
How did you look for it, maybe it ended up in some folder. Easiest way to find
it is to use Spotlight search and look for "Facetime". If you have handwriting
in your rotor, you can also turn the rotor to handwriting when you are on the
home screen and write an "F", Facetime should be there as one of the apps.

Indeed. Handwriting is an awsome tool for quickly looking for an app. It's got
to be on the phone.

Re: Facetime Is Missing

2015-09-24 Thread Tom Lange
Hi Sieghard. As I said in my post, i'd perused all of her home screens,
including a variety of folders, and I used Spotlight Search, with no luck. So
I did a Google search to see why it might be missing and how to get it back.
As the following article will show, I think she turned on restrictions and
disabled facetime. I did the same on my phone and, sure enough, facetime
disappeared. Removing the restriction brought it back on my phone, but I had
to put it back into my Extras folder where I'd stashed it. Here's the article
that I found.

Find a missing FaceTime app
If you can’t find the FaceTime app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, these
steps can help.
To find or restore a missing FaceTime app on your device, follow these steps:
Make sure your device supports FaceTime. FaceTime isn’t available or might not
appear on devices purchased or used in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and
Pakistan.
Search for the FaceTime app in Spotlight.
In Settings > General > Restrictions, make sure that FaceTime and Camera are
on. If your Camera restriction is on, you won’t be able to use FaceTime.
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
Still can't find the FaceTime app?
If you still can’t find the FaceTime app, back up your device using iTunes or
iCloud, then restore your device. After you restore the device, set it up by
selecting your region and language. Then, restore the data using the iTunes or
iCloud backup.
