Hello Sieghard,

The advantage of Navigon is that you can have all the maps stored on the phone 
so that you don’t need a 3G connection to use the app. For us in Europe, this 
is very useful when out of the home country.

Apart from the fact that you can download maps to the phone, I am curious what 
you consider advantages of Navigon over free apps like Apple Maps or Google 
Maps or paid solutions like the SeeingEye app which has much better 
accessibility and gives you also a lot of information you won’t get with 
Navigon. I also bought Navigon when I first got my iPhone 4 in 2010, but I 
don’t think I have used it in at least 3 or 4 years because of how good Apple 
Maps and Google Maps are and also because of the fact that I bought a 3-year 
Seeing-Eye subscription.

Updating apps - Was Re: Navigon Update

Hi, I think you have asked this question in 3 or 4 different formats. 
The bottom line though, is that you cannot store the apps on different 
media like usb sticks or a connected usb add-on for the iPhone. They 
must always be installed like all other apps. So, if you are trying to 
update and you don't have enough room, you will have to delete some apps 
to make room. It's also possible that other things are taking up too 
much space, like pictures or music or videos.

enough storage. I wonder could I move some of myaps to my usb drive and use

Check in Settings under usage and see what apps are taking up the most room. 
You can always delete the ones you don't use. I tunes remembers the ones you 
have purchased so you won't get charged again if you delete one by mistake.

I am having a problem with Navigon, I want to enter my home address but for
some reason it refuses to recognize my street!  I had it working once before
and it knew my home address but when an upgrade several months ago refused
to work correctly I took it off the phone but, but I put it back, did the
update and downloaded my map, only for the state where I live.  When I do
get a list of streets to come up and swipe screen to the more button several
times only one street begins with East and I know after living here for 35
years that my street does exist and that other apps have told me my correct
address.  This is weird, cause if I type in the edit field it won't find it
which is what I tried to do first.

WHat I'm really curious about Raul is if the transit inapt purchase is of 
value. THe price is reasonable if the information is helpful. Obviously trying 
it for myself would be the way to determine the value, but I have not read here 
that anyone has tested this out.

Hi Katie,

Well, I could not activate that option yet.  I called Garmin, thanks to Raul's 
info, but while waiting fro the rep to return while I was on hold, I was cut 
off.  In summary, I should have received an option to navigate by bus, but I 
only have vehicular and pedestrian thus far.  I'm in Albany, NY, and I hope 
it's available here. I'll report back as soon as I have something to report.

After doing the update and getting the fresh maps, Navigon still thinks 
Portland Oregon is called Lake Jeanclia.

their support just tells me to go to their inaccessible map error reporting 
page.

Sorry to ask the question again, is the new version as accessible as prior
version 2?  

I am using iPhone 4 and have accessibility issue with Navigon after version
1.8.  Thus I have restore back to 1.8 version.  Now I am hesitating to
update to the latest one.
