Re: ooTunes

2015-10-07 Thread Joney
I found the app very self-explanatory. There are plenty of listings in there
that you can follow for different podcasts different sportscasts and all that
kind of stuff it's a great app. The developer will put links to sportscasts,
radio stations, things like that if you have them within the app. You simply
send an email. He's a nice guy, and really responsive.

Re: ooTunes

2015-10-06 Thread candyrlowe

There are many ways you can search. If you know the name of the station that
you want, you can type it into the search bar. If you want a particular game or
team, you may be able to locate them by typing the name into the search bar.
Another way is to brouse. When you browse, you can look for the sports section
and then you should be able to read each sports station. You can then add the
ones you like to your favorites list. It will take a little while, but,
finally, you will be able to go to the favorites list and go straight to the
sports network you like.
The tune in app also has many stations. You can do a search in about the same
way. If you need more help, just yell.

Re: Ootunes Scheduled Recordings

2014-05-25 Thread Ioana Gandrabur
Hi,

To my understanding the app has to be open and running to start recording. I
read the app cannot run in background if device is running low on memory.
I am pretty sure you cannot listen to an other app with audio or even answer a
call without stopping the recording.

The developer is very quick to respond so, if you want, write him and maybe
he'll update it to make it run more efficiently in the background.
My problem with these recordings is that I found it impossible to rename them.
It used to work but, according to the developer, since iOS 7 there's a bug
preventing this.

That's all I know about this.

Good luck using it:

Best,

Ioana

If I was in another app, such as BARD Mobile will my recording take place,
whether or not BARD is actually playing at the time?

The documentation I have found seems fairly sketchy. I am not sure how much
the app is being supported, but my next step might be trying to contact the

RE: OoTunes

2013-11-18 Thread Tom Rash
I did that and stopped it, thinking it would still be in the line of affect.
That didn't work. Do I actually need to be playing it in the background?
That's a little distracting, but I will give it a try.
Thanks.

RE: OOTunes

2012-08-22 Thread Jonathan Mosen
The top three things I like about Ootunes are:

1. Most important of all, Ootunes is always recording by default. With most
other radio apps, if you're listening to a stream and something interesting
happens, you'll be saying, I wish I recorded that. But Ootunes records
everything you listen to, and just discards it if you choose not to go in
and save it. So that way, if something interesting happens on a stream you
are listening to and you want to keep it, just go in and save the recording
permanently.

2. The shake to play/stop is a nice feature.

3. If you disconnect wired headphones, Ootunes keeps playing. many other
apps require you to play, or unpause, the stream.

Tunein pro allows you to record, but asJonothan already pointed out,
it does not record by default. I'm roling back to an older version of
Tunein Pro, and will stick with that. OOTunes is also somehow capable
of playing Cirius radio content if you have an account with Cirius XM,
though I'm not sure how well it works or if you can get all the
content they offer.

RE: OOTunes

2012-08-21 Thread Corey Michael Cook
OOTunes is laid out differently and for now you can still get the Clear
Channel, Cumulus and CBS stations on OOTunes. Overall I like the lay out of
tune in radio more but increasingly I am having to switch to OO for what I
want to listen to.

RE: ooTunes Question

2012-07-28 Thread Brett
Hi,

Are you sure you have ooTunes? I don't see any unlabelled buttons in this
app.

To search for a station:

Launch the app.

Click too and double tab on Stations.

Then double tap on Search Stations. This will bring up an edit field where
you should type your search, then click the Go button at the bottom right of
the keyboard.

Any results found will show in a list view just below the search edit field.
Note, it can take several seconds for the search results to appear
sometimes, so if you first see no results, give the program a bit more time
and you should end up with something.

Cheers,

Brett.

Cheers,

Brett.

Re: ooTunes Question

2012-07-28 Thread Scott Davert
HI Carla.
another way to stop playback is to do a 2 finger double tap on the
screen. To search, start on the home screen of the app. Then flick
right until you come to stations. Double tap this.VoiceOver will
land you on something that says search stations. Double tap again and
enter what you're looking for. Once done, tap the upper half of your
screen above where the keyboard is located, the results will be
displayed there. If nothing is found, OOTunes will indicate this as
well.

Hope this helps,
Scott

OK I'm trying to get ooTunes to work. I have everything set and when I go
to the search button and double tap that it just says search button so I go
to the next button which is unlabeled. I double tap that and nothing
happens so how do I search in ooTunes? Thanks.

Yes, it is available for Windows also.

I've looked at it and it looks like something we all ought to have ... but
does it really work?

Hi,
Actually, this isn't exactly the case, at least on the
mac. There's an app from digidna called Disc Aid. I think
they make it for windows too. There's a checkbox under
the advanced tab in the settings, it says something like
show apps even if sharing isn't enabled. Check that box,
then you can get your ootunes recordings. I was so happy
when I got that app.
Hope this helps,

Ootunes can do what it does because it is simply
 dumping the data stream it
is receiving over the Internet to a file. It isn't
 possible to record
directly from the iPhone's audio output, because the
 hardware isn't capable
 of doing so.

 Hi FI;

I don't think this is the type of recording I had in
 mind.
 Let me explain further.

The ootunes app records what it hears automatically.
I don't believe it uses a mic because the recording
 quality is too good.

In other words I would like to record music that is
 being played on my
 iPhone 4S.

I hope my explanation was precise.

I don't believe it uses a mic because the recording quality is too good.

In other words I would like to record music that is being played on my
iPhone 4S.

I hope my explanation was precise.

Hi Anthony. Just be aware that you need something like a Tascam IM2 or
a Fostex AR4I to get the phone to record in stereo, as it only has a
mono microphone. They are both fantastic, but I really recommend the
Fostex, although it is a bit big, so it depends what your priorities are.

The Tascam is good because it will also work with an iPad. Also, the
Fostex will only work with the iPhone 4 and 4s, because it cradles the
phone, or iPod Touch. My Dad has an iPhone 3gs and we tried to fit it
in, but it was too big. Just mentioning this, as not sure which iPhone
you have, plus might be useful for others to know.

Not sure if earlier iPod Touches fit in the Fostex or not, as both
mine are quite new. Yes ... I said both!!!

Hi Fonarak

In List Recorder Full version, the recording times do not have a limit.

Only your Device memory will limit the size.

Yes, List Recorder lets you send the recording by email as a

attachment.

Currently List Recorder does not have editing functions. I say

currently because the app developer is constantly updating and
improving the app. With each new version large feature improvements

happen.

And, the app is being strongly supported and user feature requests

You're supposed to be able to do that with the memo recorder, but

Is there a time limit on files? Can I also E-mail them as attachments?

Thanks for the info.

Hello Fi,

List Recorder has many different recording formats to select from.
I use M4a but there is wav, and several others.

You can easily rename the recordings. You can also utilize a very
strong organizational structure.

The app is designed for the visually impaired so there are no
accessibility issues.

It can be used as a simple recorder but once you start using it I
suspect a user will want to use the advanced features.

Hi,
Actually, this isn't exactly the case, at least on the mac. There's an app
from digidna called Disc Aid. I think they make it for windows too. There's
a checkbox under the advanced tab in the settings, it says something like
show apps even if sharing isn't enabled. Check that box, then you can get
your ootunes recordings. I was so happy when I got that app.
Hope this helps,

Ootunes can do what it does because it is simply dumping the data stream
it
is receiving over the Internet to a file. It isn't possible to record
directly from the iPhone's audio output, because the hardware isn't
capable
of doing so.

Hi Jennifer,

You won't get all of the channels, as Musicdoc doesn't offer all of them. In
ooTunes, double tap on Search Streams and type in musicdoc and execute the
search. Musicdoc will come up and show all of the channels. Personally, as
Musicdoc is free, I wold recommend just downloading that app as you'll have a
list of categories from which to choose and you may find that easier. I don't
see any advantage to using oo Tunes, as it's using the free Musicdoc program
anyway.
