Well, after a reboot, it still doesn't show for me. Maybe something weird
happened when I did a couple of complete resets. I don't think I'll worry
about it for now, as everything seems ok and battery is fine.

Here's the clincher, unless I'm missing something, I'm not finding an auto
brightness setting in iOS 8.0.2, Settings, Display and Brightness.
Interesting. I wonder if it still exists.

Hi, make sure that the auto brightness is off.
Go into settings, and swipe right until you get to display, and brightness.
Double tap on this option, and swipe to the slide, you can adjusted to what you
want it to be, swipe to the right, and make sure that auto brightness is off.
You will also be able to change the brightness anytime you want from the

Re: Screen brightness setting not sticking? Has anyone else seen this?

2014-10-15 Thread Charles Rivard
Set the screen brightness to z percent in the settings, under visual. That
should clear the problem. It's been a while since I looked, but it seems like
there is also a setting to automatically adjust the screen brightness. If
there is, turn it off. HTH.

Yes, I have also noticed this inn my iPhone 5s iOS 8. 0. 2. When I have
reduced the brightness I sometimes randomly discover it has gone to full
brightness without me doing anything consciously.

I'm not going to reset and fix what ain't broke, but that is very strange.

 Hi,

I have recently noticed that at times my battery degrades a lot faster

life. Since updating to iOS8.0.2 I have noticed that the brightness
setting frequently changes of its own accord. If you periodically check
your screen brightness setting, found in the Control Centre, does it
 change of its own accord?

I am intending to write to Apple about this issue, but wanted to confirm
if it is a common bug or one that only effects a couple of people.

 Many thanks,
 Brett.

Well, after a reboot, it still doesn't show for me. Maybe something weird
happened when I did a couple of complete resets. I don't think I'll worry about
it for now, as everything seems ok and battery is fine.
