Wifi is usually faster. I use either or. Hi, I have very good Wi-Fi for downloading as well as uploading, except now and only with my phone. I will count myself fortunate! It just isn't doing me any good right now! I have determined this issue is on the phone and only the phone. It is certainly possible for Wi-Fi to be slower than cellular, but, this is usually not the case. Your Wi-Fi router/access point is more than seven years old, I could foresee cellular being faster, assuming you have access to LTE or 5G ultra wideband.A poorly optimized Wi-Fi network can also be slow, especially if you live in a congested area, like an apartment complex.But, if Wi-Fi is set up correctly and is reasonably modern, it will usually be pretty fast. And, like Richard said, You are not going to run into nearly as many data limits with Wi-Fi as you would with typical cellular.
