Re: A WhatsApp question about voice messaging

2017-11-09 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi,

If you double tap and hold very briefly then slide your finger then the phone
will vibrate a little bit and then you will hear the tri tones and then you can
speak your message without holding your finger down. When you are done, touch
anywhere on the screen to send your message. It takes practice. Have a blessed
day!

The Chats tab, here you have an entry for each person or, I assume group,
double tap and all your messages will be there with date and time and you can
play them and delete them or not.
It's an Inbox style look, just as you have all your emails or all your text
messages listed in Mail or Messages, here you have all the people you are
chatting with.

So you are saying sighted users don't have to hold down the microphone
button?
If so then that's nice, but I guess the message still sends as soon as you
stop, Sandra also wanted a way to first review the message and, if desired,
delete it and start over.

Hi Sandra,

I assume you mis-typed and meant to say that you hold the "voice message"
button WhatsApp to record your voice message?

In addition to this method, you can start your message recording by tapping
and holding the voice message button, then yo use your other hand to turn
off voice over with the triple click on the home button and then turn it
back on.

After you turn off voice over you are free to remove your finger from the
voice message button, and WhatsApp will continue recording ... it will
record the speech of voice over as you restart it (most people are ok with
this), and then you just double tap the voice message button when you want
the recording to stop.

Chip

That's how you sent voice messages in What's App. I guess the only alternative
would be to record with another app which saves the file as an MP3, then you
would attach this file and send it via What's App as an attachment, but That of
course may defeat the purpose. There is no way to change anything in What's App
to do what you want, it's meant to be easy and quick, you push/hold to talk, as
soon as you let go the message is sent and that is that.
Once the message is sent you can listen to it, I guess if you didn't like the
way it sounded you could send another, but you can't first review as you can
with iMessages.

Sieghard

Subject: A WhatsApp question about voice messaging

hi,
I have a WhatsApp group, and we are wanting to send Voice Messages. however,
the only way I can find to do this is to press and hold the home button while
talking. Upon releasing it, the message you sent. this doesn’t work for us,
this is a language group and so people want more control over their messages.
does anyone know of an easier way to make voice messages, which you can review
listen to et cetera before sending?

thanks, Sandy
