RE: An Accessible Thermometer

2021-05-30 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
The Withings Thermo, not sure if it is under the Nokia brand now since they
bought Withings, but I have had one of these for many years and even though I
sometimes don't use it for many months or even a year, as long as I have the
app installed and I'm logged in it always works reliably and accurately if I
take it out of the drawer. It is on the expensive side, however.

Does anyone know of an accessible thermometer app that I can download to take
my temperature?

At work, we’re required to log our temperature, and the digital thermometer

The iPhone cannot take your temperature.

It has no way to do that.

You have to have a separate thermometer.

Independent Living Aids and LS Products Inc. probably have the same one.
I'd check all three places and compare prices.
But, what is the name of the one you have?

RE: Accurate accessible thermometer

2017-06-01 Thread Tony
It is a Medline ear and forehead thermometer.

They valued it at $31.00 so you can probably get it for well under $20.00.

It has good volume and one button for forehead reading, one for ear reading,
and one for degrees F/degrees C.

It uses 2 alkaline batteries.

I once bought a talking thermometer at a drugstore. They aren't a
specialty item. That is probably why his insurance is paying. As I
recall, they are not that expensive.

Take care,

Subject: Accurate accessible thermometer

Hi all,
I need to get an accessible accurate thermometer for taking my
temperature. I had a thermometer years ago that spoke with a Spanish
accent and I don't think was all that accurate. I'm wondering what people
are using these days that works reliably. I would just to soon not have
to fool with something that requires my phone to read out, but if that's
the best thing out there, I'm willing to go for it. What are people using
that works easily and efficiently and is accurate?

Mary

Hi Mary,

I guess taking a look at the maxiaids.com website might give you some options
for non-connected devices.
I bought a Withings Thermo thermometer, it works both via bluetooth and WiFi
and does work well, but it was a bit fiddly to set it up, if I were to rate how
easy it is to use on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 5 or 6, but it does work.
It is contactless, you hold it almost against your skin at your forehead about
in the middle and then move it to either the left or gith tside to about your
temple area, the reading then happens very fast, but it sometimes seems to take
a while for it to appear in the app.
There is another one called a Kinza or something like that, but I don't know if
it's easier, it's I think a bit less expensive than the Thermo.

Sieghard
