RE: Calls disconnecting, when I barely touch the screen of my iPhone.
Direct touch allows apps to provide a part of the screen where gestures aren't captured by voiceOver. Think of self voicing or braille keyboard aps. The direct touch setting allows this to be turned on or off for the app. Screen recognition gives you access to app controls that may not be visible to VoiceOver. This will make some apps more usable. If the two finger double tap doesn't hang up a call then you may need to wait a beat after you pull it away from your ear before using the magic tap. The screen needs to wake up after it's no longer next to your face so it can register the magic tap. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) =>÷ Chaltain at Outlook, USA -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of William Outman Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2024 5:11 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Calls disconnecting, when I barely touch the screen of my iPhone. Interesting. I received my new iPhone 15 pro on Friday. This has happened to me several times since I got it. Just keeping an eye on it for the next couple of weeks and if it seems like an issue I'll be taking it back to Apple. Have you double checked the settings? I don’t know what those phones default to, but if for some reason direct touch is on, or maybe screen recognition, that could change how it behaves. RE: Calls disconnecting, when I barely touch the screen of my iPhone.
Thanks. I ended up going to Accessibilities; Touch; and Phone. There I turned on Prevent Lock from ending calls. Then I tried calling Time and Temperature, touched all over the screen, and retained the call. Thanks. I got the suggestion from the iDevices list about going to Accessibilities, Touch, and Phone. Naturally, turn off phone and back on, first rule out to do. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Arnold Schmidt Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2024 3:03 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Calls disconnecting, when I barely touch the screen of my iPhone. Re: Calls disconnecting, when I barely touch the screen of my iPhone.
Well, that's what's doing it, when you lock the screen. I accidentally did that to my dad the other day. I hit the LockScreen button and it disconnected the call. Don't do that. And if it's not that, definitely do what arnold said. That's the best decision. That I do. Even if I barely touch the side of the phone at the left or right edge it happens. I have to try to think to lock my screen. Then, if I need to go into it, so far, I haven't had problems making three-way calls or checking what the weather is here or someone's phone number in my contacts that a caller has had but misplaced. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of joseph hudson Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2024 12:22 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Calls disconnecting, when I barely touch the screen of my iPhone.
