No problem. Just so you know, It’s just a bit after 4 pm here in British
Columbia and while I have been lazy so far today, I’m going outside now. I had
to cut down 3 trees in our backyard because they were either dead or not
producing fruit any more and there is a huge pile of branches and stuff which I
have to start to cut up. I probably won’t reply for the next 3 to 4 hours.

Good luck,
Sieghard

RE: Voice app for iOS announcement

2019-06-16 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Once again, you have to record a phrase to trigger the shortcut and there would
have been several permissions to agree to during the setup.
Sorry if I can’t tell you exactly to do this and that and it will work, but if
you can’t figure it out maybe you can call Apple Accessibility and ask, they
have the ability to share your screen and maybe guide you along.

Re: Voice app for iOS announcement

2019-06-15 Thread Richard Turner
After you end up in the app store, double tap on open, that will open the
shortcut app on your phone, there will be a get shortcut, and there may be
another phrase about download somewhere in there, but if you keep going, you
will get to a screen where it has a done button at the top, and a record your
phrase button toward the bottom.
Double tap on that, and record your phrase, then double tap the done button and
you will now be able to take a picture in camera.
Apparently there is a way to use this also in other apps through the share sheet
Time will tell.

Richard

RE: Voice app for iOS announcement

2019-06-15 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Holly,

As I said, you can use SIRI shortcuts to take a regular picture, I have
included links to download two separate shortcuts I have for doing just this,
one uses the phrase “Say Cheese” and one uses “Take a Pic”. I am actually not
sure if the recorded phrases get transmitted, you may have to set them up
yourself, but the shortcuts work. The “Take a Picture” shortcut causes the
female SIRI voice to count down “3, 2, 1” then the picture is taken and SIRI
announces “picture taken”.
Keep in mind that when you run these shortcuts you will most likely be asked to
give permission to run it, for it to access the camera and photos etc.

Re: Voice app for iOS announcement

2019-06-15 Thread Holly
I wrote a feedback email to the developer and he said that he has already put
in a fix for this issue. He said it will take a little while to show in the
app.

In the meantime, just say ‘capture’ when you hear the announcement that edges
are visible. Stay off the ‘take picture’ button, as the app hears Voice over
announce the ‘take picture’ button and thinks it should snap a pic.

Re: Voice app for iOS announcement

2019-06-15 Thread Holly
Hi Julie:

Yes, I am getting the hang of it now. Seems to work very well. Wish Siri
would take a picture by voice command. Wonder if that will be in the new IOS
version.

Hi Richard. I already had the app installed so got the update. The OCR is
truly impressive. I wasn’t able to get the 2 voice commands to work at all
however. I did allow access to the mic when running the app. Any suggestions?

This is an app developed a few years ago by a 15 year-old. I just received
the following from him and downloaded the app. While it doesn't do all that
Voice Dream Scanner does, it is quite impressive. Read on and act quickly on
June 14, 2019.

  Hey Richard,

I'm really sorry about the bad experience you had with the last version of
Voice. Four years ago, when I had released the app, I was only 15.
Unfortunately, since I was still learning programming, the app itself was still
very buggy and crashed a lot. I tried my best to give you guys the best
features for free but my programming skills were not good enough at the time.
As years went by and it was time for me to apply to colleges, I slowly stopped
being able to support Voice and it slowly stopped working. Over the last year,
I have received thousands of emails from you guys saying the app is completely
broken.

I've got huge news today. Over the past few months, Voice was completely
remade from the ground up, with the best and latest technology. The OCR quality
is spectacular, even on completely distorted, badly focused, and incorrectly
angled photos with poor lighting. There are new voice control features. You can
simply say the words "Take Picture" and Voice will take pictures for you. You
simply say "Read" and Voice will start reading it to you. Voice will give
extremely accurate field of view reports when it detects a document in front of
you. It works in over 30 major languages and gives you the most powerful OCR
reading tools right in your pocket.

I have decided to make the app free for only the next 24 hours. After that,
it will be on the app store for $4.99. I have always wanted to keep this app
free for you guys, but the problem is that maintaining the app becomes very
difficult when it is completely free. I would rather give you guys an extremely
low-cost app that is the absolute best and regularly supported, rather than a
completely free app that is mediocre and unsupported. Those of you that install
it while it is free will also get future updates for free. Let your friends
know so they can also get it while it's free!

  Here's the link:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/voice-take-picture-have-it/id903772588?mt=8.

I hope you find this application helpful. I am open to any suggestions and
feedback, feel free to be as brutal as you like. I will try to respond to your
email in less than an hour. I plan to bring even more exciting stuff in the
very near future. Thank you for your time.

Richard is right. The best thing is to plug a headset after you start the app.
I hope that future releases would address this issue. I tried the app and it
does impressive job in recognizing English and Arabic.

That is because it hears VoiceOver say “take a picture.”
After opening the app, you may want to plug in headphones, or simply wait until
it says 4 corners visible, and say Take A Picture or just say Capture.

Don’t plug in the headphones before loading the app, there is a bug that will
be fixed in the next release that forces it to the speaker.

Hello,
One thing I have noticed is that once you give the voice command it takes a few
seconds for the picture to take. For those who might be having issues, hold the
phone steady for a few seconds after you say the command.

rick, what I noticed is that after I did the commands capture, then read, about
three times in a row; it stopped working temporarily.
Then it began working again.
I suspect it is an issue with phone RAM resources maybe getting full and

This is an app developed a few years ago by a 15 year-old. I just received the
following from him and downloaded the app. While it doesn't do all that Voice
Dream Scanner does, it is quite impressive. Read on and act quickly on June 14,
2019.

After that, it
will be on the app store for $4.99. I have always wanted to keep this app free
for you guys, but the problem is that maintaining the app becomes very
difficult when it is completely free. I would rather give you guys an extremely
low-cost app that is the absolute best and regularly supported, rather than a
completely free app that is mediocre and unsupported. Those of you that install
it while it is free will also get future updates for free. Let your friends
know so they can also get it while it's free!

Good to hear a familiar name.
Did you allow Speech Recognition?
Check in the the iPhone settings, and scroll down to Voice, and make sure
everything is on.
I am going to test those commands right now.

The thing is, the only way email will go to my phone, is if my email program is
closed on my PC, so don’t think I could forward myself an email from my PC to

Re: Voice app for iOS announcement

2019-06-14 Thread Andy Baracco
Actually, I have done what you did from time to time, and if I had to, I would
have again. I receive about 500 messages per day from various Email lists, and
I find it much more efficient to process them on the PC.
I do have a Gmail address that I do not normally give out, and I have my phone
set to get Email from that address when the need arises.

Andy, I too, do all my email on the computer. I don't blame you for not
wanting to go through all of that. The only other time I sent an email from my
phone was to send some email messages to see that I could do it, otherwise I
go through all my email on my computer. But before I knew wether I could find
the app by searching it, I thought I would try forwarding the message with the
link to my phone to see if it would work well or not. By now, you probably know
that you can search for voice ocr in the app store, that's exactly what we did
with the 2 se phones, that don't have any email set up.

That's exactly what I did as well and it reads like a charm. After
you enable microphone and voice etc. you can either dt to take picture and read
or use your voice to say "take picture" "read" etc. It works really well and
gives the percentages on when it is scanning the pictures. I know that Voice
Dream Scanner you can set to automatic so that it will take the picture and
read automatically but this app does really well. And for free we get updates.

Over the past few months, Voice was completely

enable microphone and voice etc. you can either dt to take picture and read or
use your voice to say "take picture" "read" etc. It works really well and gives

I've got huge news today. Over the past few months, Voice was
completely remade from the ground up, with the best and latest technology. The
OCR quality is spectacular, even on completely distorted, badly focused, and
incorrectly angled photos with poor lighting. There are new voice control
features. You can simply say the words "Take Picture" and Voice will take

Voice will give extremely accurate field of view reports when it detects a
document in front of you. It works in over 30 major languages and gives you the
most powerful OCR reading tools right in your pocket.

I have decided to make the app free for only the next 24 hours. After
that, it will be on the app store for $4.99. I have always wanted to keep this
app free for you guys, but the problem is that maintaining the app becomes very
difficult when it is completely free. I would rather give you guys an extremely
low-cost app that is the absolute best and regularly supported, rather than a
completely free app that is mediocre and unsupported. Those of you that install
it while it is free will also get future updates for free. Let your friends
know so they can also get it while it's free!

Here's the link:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/voice-take-picture-have-it/id903772588?mt=8.

I hope you find this application helpful. I am open to any suggestions
and feedback, feel free to be as brutal as you like. I will try to respond to
your email in less than an hour. I plan to bring even more exciting stuff in
the very near future. Thank you for your time.

This is an app developed a few years ago by a 15 year-old. I just
received the following from him and downloaded the app. While it doesn't do all
that Voice Dream Scanner does, it is quite impressive. Read on and act quickly
on June 14, 2019.

Hey Richard,

I'm really sorry about the bad experience you had with the last version
of Voice.

Over the past few months, Voice was
completely remade from the ground up, with the best and latest technology. The
OCR quality is spectacular, even on completely distorted, badly focused, and
incorrectly angled photos with poor lighting. There are new voice control
features. You can simply say the words "Take Picture" and Voice will take
pictures for you. You simply say "Read" and Voice will start reading it to you.

That's exactly what I did as well and it reads like a charm. After you enable
microphone and voice etc. you can either dt to take picture and read or use
your voice to say "take picture" "read" etc. It works really well and gives the
percentages on when it is scanning the pictures. I know that Voice Dream
Scanner you can set to automatic so that it will take the picture and read
automatically but this app does really well. And for free we get updates.

This is an app developed a few years ago by a 15 year-old. I just received the
following from him and downloaded the app. While it doesn't do all that Voice
Dream Scanner does, it is quite impressive. Read on and act quickly on June 14,
2019.

Let your friends
know so they can also get it while it's free!

 .

I hope you find this application helpful. I am open to any suggestions and
feedback, feel free to be as brutal as you like. I will try to respond to your
email in less than an hour. I plan to bring even more exciting stuff in the
very near future. Thank you for your time.

Richard, thank you for telling us about this app. I'm not sure how to use this
app. Of course I can take the picture, and I know where you go into for the
pictures, though it seemed as if there were only 2 pictures there, that were
taken on april 10th. As with other apps, would you be able to read the scanning
after you take the picture? Thank you again for telling us about this app.
