Looking for social media app for iphone , status report is broken
Hello all, Status report , version 2.1 is crashing when reading a artikel. On ios10.3.2 It happpens when I open the url. The last update was from 2014 so I should look for a new app. The app should fatch updates from facebook, twitter, if possible linkedin and if possible, I would like to send messages to the diffferent accounts from inside the app. All suggestions for a accessible app are very welcome. I tried Buffer but didn't really like it. I didn't find it that stable and I still couldn't get my Facebook stuff, which is really why I wanted to change. Thanks though, it was worth a look. I also tried one other, but can't remember what it was now ... Again, I couldn't get the FB to work, so I've given that up because, as has already been said, the apps do work pretty well! Yes, thanks, I'm aware of all of this and spend a lot of time just in "Facebook". However, there are times when I just don't have much reading time and would like to browse some of the latest from both, as quickly as I can. Hi all, I am also having this problem with Status Report. The last time this happened I was able to uninstall the app, and re-installing it fixed the problem, but this time, that does not help. I only use Status report for FaceBook, so I can't comment on any of the other services! Hope they get this sorted out soon, as I prefer reading my Facebook posts this way rather then put up with all of the out of order posts and the latest garbage that FaceBook gives us with Voiceover! I have also just deleted the app and reinstalled it. But it still does not download facebook post. It looks like it works with the other services, but not facebook. It signs in to facebook, but nothing else. Hi, I'm facing the same issue. Signing out and in into facebook didn't change anything, and re-installing the app also didn't work. The last time I couldn't use it with Facebook, I waited for some weeks, and suddenly it worked again. No, it doesn't appear that you can. You can do Twitter and Facebook together, or any others that are listed there, but not two of the same kind. I love status report for simplicity, but I use it seldom, because although it works the first time, then I find are usually have to reinstall it in order that it will go and grab new statuses. I tried to contact The company responsible, but failed to do so. Anyway, the only way I found to fix it was to uninstall the app and reinstall. You also have two go through the process once again of signing in and out of Facebook. If anyone has found an easier way to get this going again, I would be most interested. I find the regular Facebook app to be accessible at least with speech. For Twitter I use Tweetlist 4 which is also accessible with speech. I guess then they should both work with Braille. I used this app a lot back in the day, but noticed that some postings from friends weren't showing up in the Status Report feed. I stopped using it in part because of this. I can't get either one of them - VB or Status - to work any more, and Focus for FaceBook always causes the iphone to crash! So, for right now, it seems like I'm stuck with the very restless and unpredictable native FB app! They have removed this app from the store and are no longer available for anyone to download. So over time I would assume that this app would eventually decease to work. Status report doesn't fetch facebook updates
Hello, I'm using status report to check my facebook feed, as it's very comfortable to use and shows much more postings than the regular facebook app or website. However, every few months, it doesn't fetch any uptades at all. Instead, the app closes, and you can only read the time and date of the presumable last refresh. I told the developers about this issue which they weren't aware of before, and they said they'd take care of it - somehow. Also tried to turn off the phone which sometimes helped, but no success. I'm using an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3 and the latest version of status report. Do you know how to make the app work again? Or can you recommend an alternative? I've never seen an app that works so well but at some point always refuses to do the job and has to be re-installed regularly. Hello Alexandra, Unfortunately, the Status Report app is no longer around. They have removed this app from the store and are no longer available for anyone to download. So over time I would assume that this app would eventually decease to work. So sadly I don't have any easy fix to your problem. As Facebook continue to change things I'd only imagine at some point it would stop working because of the changes they have done and this app will no longer receive any updates to resolve those problems. Hopefully, I can only hope somebody on this list might have a solution that could extend the life of the app. It was also one of my favorite app to use. Bummer, I had no idea that it had been pulled. Any idea why? I had my troubles with it and twitter a while back, but the devs fixed it and even address the link text not being read by Voiceover when I wrote them about it. Facebook still doesn't even do this. Is there a way to have more than one Twitter account on Status report?
If so, I cannot figure it out. Status report shows my original Twitter account, but when I tap add account there does not appear to be a way to have more than one Twitter account. If anyone knows differently, I would appreciate hearing from you. The Twitter account itself is okay, but unwieldy at times. Is anyone using the status report app successfully with twitter? I've signed in and authorized the app to use my twitter account, but I can't figure out how to read anything or post tweets. I had this problem for a long while and wrote the dev about it. I never got a response, but it magically started working on its own. That aside, I still have to hassel to reauthorise the app every time I sign out and want to sign in with Twitter. I was able to get updates from both fb and twitter. only thing was with twitter it pulled them only for the last three hours. Have tried both the refresh button and double tap and swipe down methods. FB refreshes fine, but that's it. In fact, when I reinstalled Status report, I did the whole twitter sign in and authorization thing first and after doing so, and going to the main feeds window, All Voiceover reads is the last update time. I wrote the dev back in November asking that the link text be addressed so that voiceover would also speak it and he wrote back at that time saying that he'd look into it. I'm glad to see that it has in fact been fixed. One thing I'm noticing though and I don't know if others can speak to it, but Since updating, I'm only getting updated feed entries from one service and not the other (twitter - Facebook). I've tried logging out of one service and then the other, but no dice. Is anyone else dealing with this issue? Hi Donna, When Voice Brief starts playing, stop it and then put your finger just above the home button and slide it up a little. You will then see a button which has DN and the word Arrow. Status report not updating and closing?
Hi all, Status report was working fine, when I go in and double tap and hold on the latest report, then swipe down, it says updating. then it says updates complete, then exits me straight from the app. When I go back in it hasn't updated at all, repeating the process ends with the same result. Have shut the app down from the switcher and has made no difference. Thanks for everyone's suggestions regarding facebook and for the info on how to refresh status report. I've now got Voice Brief which looks quite good, but using voiceover I can't seem to get back to the settings screen. I'm stuck in the area where voice brief reads the status etc. Can anyone tell me how to get back please as I need to increase the speech rate at the very least. Also regarding voice brief I've tried to authorise it to read my twitter account but for some reason the authorisation fails. Does anyone have any ideas on this please? Many thanks. If it is your page, you have an email address or Facebook txt address to do so. If it is someone elses page, you need to go to their page and swipe down till you find the write post button. Double tap that and a text field will appear. Write your post and tap the post button, usually top near the right hand side. If it isn't there, it is above the zero. Not sure why it moves when your post is first in the list. One thing I'm going to write to the author about is that if you've been reading a whole lot of Statuses and reply to one, you lose your place and are back at the beginning of the list. Getting back each time is very time-consuming. I'd like to suggest that when you back out of a report you're still on the same part of that list because you can always touch the top left button and end up back at the beginning if you wish. Only possible downside is that all of your networks are shown in one feed. They may have addressed this in a recent update, but last time I used it, my numerous Twitter friends and all my FB friends were in the same list, with no real indication from which service the post was for. I would give each service it's own feed, especially if you are friends with many people on both services, you could split it up a little. I understand for convenience it is good, but if you have people on a social network that post a lot, or if you follow between 50-100 or more people on Twitter, it can be confusing at times. It is a technique. Flick to the first report you have after the New button. Now start near the top of your screen, but not the Status bar. Draw 2 fingers a little way down then just use one to go the rest of the way. Sometimes I find it better not to keep the finger absolutely straight but to go round a little as I work downwards. It's been a while since I did it but think you have to link your FB and/or Twitter accounts first. Then type your Status and you'll find a button either side of the editbox (I think), one being Twitter and the other FaceBook. You need to select where you're sending and then find the Send button which is on the right-hand side, quite near the top. Hope that's accurate enough from memory to get you where you need to be. For some reason, you can't update Twitter feed. You have to double tap on the Facebook button to get it selected. To get the updates, you focus on the top of your feeds you do have, then double tap, wait for the tri tones, then slide down with the finger and you will get the updates. I hope this makes sense. First you want to locate the new button which is after the Services button. You can then write your status and send it in the mnormal way. If that's not enough detail, let us know. HiStacey. I love status report however twitter appears to be broken on it as I can't post or reply to tweets. When you are focused on the top of your feeds, double tap and hold then wait for the tri tones then slide down and it will update. It may take a bit. Status report is a little app that you can read both Facebook and Twitter updates in one place.
