I'm glad you were able to install iTunes successfully. Anything can happen
between Saturday and today. Maybe Apple fixed the problem that people were
having with installing iTunes. I sure hope so. I hope it all works out for you.

2014-01-27 Thread Carol Pearson
Liz,

I thought I would have the same problems yourself when I went to install iTunes
today. It reached about 98% and then just sat there. Anyway, I got away from
the computer for some reason and couldn't get back for some while. When I did,
it seemed that the install was successful and that, eventually, it did make it.

I just passed this on for what it's worth. I haven't yet started to use it, by
the way, but I can only assume that it really did install correctly.

Yes, you can use the Apple software update program to download the new version
of iTunes once you uninstall your old version of iTunes and the Apple
components on your computer.

Hi,

I deleted everything that was Apple including these two. They will all
come

back when you re-install from a fresh download. I didn’t lose any data.
When you do a backup, it will warn you that you need to copy your apps on
your iPhone to iTunes if you want them to be brought back in case you
need

to restore.

Hi,

There is apple mobile device support and apple software support. Should
I

delete both before trying to reinstall itunes or just the apple mobile
device support?

Can I then use apple software updates to reinstall itunes again?

You have to uninstall iTunes and Apple components to install the latest version
of iTunes. You can't copy over an old install with this update. I spent a lot
of time yesterday updating iTunes deleting old components and reinstalling
things. Plus I had to fix my Outlook 2007 as MobileMe services kept giving me

Re: There is apple software support and apple mobile device support so should I delete both before reinstalling itunes?

2014-01-26 Thread John Diakogeorgiou
I would highly suggest deleting all the Apple software and
reinstalling from scratch. My problem was different than yours but it
solved it. I went as far az cleaning the registry as well. You
probably don't need to do that though. Also doing this doesn't cause
you to lose your ITunes settings.

Hi,

I deleted everything that was Apple including these two. They will all come
back when you re-install from a fresh download. I didn’t lose any data. When
you do a backup, it will warn you that you need to copy your apps on your

RE: There is apple software support and apple mobile device support so should I delete both before reinstalling itunes?

2014-01-26 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi,

No, with this problem, you can’t re-install over the top because you get a
message that the installation has to stop because you’re missing a DLL file.
After removing the components, you have to completely remove iTunes and
re-install from scratch. Believe me, I had enough trouble in the past 24 hours
with this update to last me a lifetime.

Hi,
There is apple mobile device support and apple software support. Should I
delete both before trying to reinstall itunes or just the apple mobile device
support?
Can I then use apple software updates to reinstall itunes again?
