Another Safari issue with Ios 8.1 With Ios 7 I could start flicking from the top of a webpage to the bottom of the webpage. With Ios 8, this no longer seems to be the case. Almost all of the time voiceover reads the status line at the bottom of the screen instead of continuing to the bottom of the webpage. Why not wait a bit longer and then update straight to iOS 8.1.1 instead of updating to 8.1 now and then maybe in a few days you’ll have to update again. I just listened to the Today in iOS Podcast and Rob also thinks that iOS 8.1.1 could come out any day now. My guess is that it might be next week or maybe the week after so updating once to a version which specifically addresses the performance on your device makes sense to me. If you got along with 7.1.2 until now another week or two shouldn’t matter, right? I know that someone reported difficulty with the workaround that Anna mentioned. I have been using it quite successfully on many websites. I think there may have been one where it didn't work, but the great majority of them have been working wonderfully well with this workaround. Of course I hope Apple fixes the problem, but the workaround is pretty easy. I think you'll like iOS 8 on the 4S. I can't answer your question about the A cappella voices, as I've never been fond of them, and as such, have never got any. Unfortunately, while Voice Dream Reader works beautifully with iOS 8 for the most part, it does crash every once in a blue moon. Hi Scott, Just a thought, but iOS 8.1.1 is going to specifically improve the performance of iOS 8 on older devices such as the iPhone 4S or iPad 2 and I think it is basically just around the corner. Why not wait a bit longer and then update straight to iOS 8.1.1 instead of updating to 8.1 now and then maybe in a few days you’ll have to update again. I just listened to the Today in iOS Podcast and Rob also thinks that iOS 8.1.1 could come out any day now. My guess is that it might be next week or maybe the week after so updating once to a version which specifically addresses the performance on your device makes sense to me. If you got along with 7.1.2 until now another week or two shouldn’t matter, right? I have an issue with Voice Dream and IOS 8. Before IOS 8, I could use the rotor to set character or word navigation, and I could move through the textbox. This was handy for me as I sometimes wanted to verify the spelling of what was being read. As of IOS 8, I can’t navigate through the textbox. Using word or character settings on the rotor. Voice Dream’s navigation settings allow sentence and line but nothing more granular. My only problem is that Voice Dream seems to be silently removed from the background much more frequently, so a media remote won't work to play the book after a while. Opening the app and hitting the play button fixes things, but I almost never had to do it in iOS7. I can't speak to the A Capella voices as I use Ivona. That’s funny, because on my 5S running 8.1 I can’t navigate by word or character using the rotor in the text box of Voice Dream Reader.
