RE: Weird Voice Dream Reader issue
I agree with Sieghard. It would be up to each app developer to install some kind of a flag that if VoiceOver is detected, and Screen Recognition is on, alert the user to turn off Screen Recognition. I won't hold my breath on that one. Everyone needs to just remember to turn it off, and if an app is acting weird, check to see if it got turned on by mistake. And, as Sieghard said, if an app is seemingly inaccessible, try turning on screen recognition to see if it helps. If it doesn't, then alert the app developer that there is an accessibility issue with their app. Richard "Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather." ~ John Ruskin My Web site: https://www.turner42.com -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Sieghard Weitzel Sent: Thursday, December 9, 2021 8:41 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Weird Voice Dream Reader issue Screen recognition should be turned off for all apps and should only be used in a situation where you are trying to use an app which is not accessible. Hello, It sounds like you have somehow accidentily turned on screen recognition for voice dream reader. Here are some things to try. Firs open the app and then use the home gesture to move to your home screen. Next open up the app switcher and make sure focus is on voice dream reader. Re: Weird Voice Dream Reader issue
I have no idea. Good luck. I know VDR is running fine on my iPhone. I had 14.8 and VDR worked just fine. Weird Voice Dream Reader issue
Hi, all. Using Voice Dream Reader version 4.13.12 on iPhone 12 Pro still running iOS 14.8. I fell asleep using VDR last night. When I woke up a few hours later and tried resuming the book, the app seemed to be running, but I only got the status bar. I closed the app, cleared out the app switcher, and tried opening it several times and still the status bar. I tried shutting the phone off and powering it back on, then I tried doing a hard reset. For this I pressed volume up, volume down, and held down the side button for about 30 seconds. The phone rebooted just fine both times. I usually have the phone locked and charging on my night stand and simply power off my Bluetooth headphones before going to sleep, so the phone was charging, and app was running the entire time. I don't have automatic updates on, and in any case there isn't an update for VDR. This doesn't seem to be an iPhone issue. The only thing I can think to do is to uninstall the app and do a fresh install. Oh, yes, I know there's an iOS update, but I've got several family members with Covid, so I'm trying to keep my phone on without messing things up with a new update. Any thoughts?
