Actually, most of the names that WhatsApp is not reading now for the couple of 
days, have been there for years and years and WhatsApp has been reading them 
just fine until a couple of days ago.

The number are saved in international format.

For  the contacts whose  number is showing but not their name, you may need to 
edit their phone number is in the right format.  If their phone number does not 
include the international code what’sapp won’t  be able to read them as the 
correct contact.  You can definitely save your local contacts without the 
international code and The phone will still allow you to call them. But not so 
with WhatsApp

I guess you’ll have to go to settings and then privacy and then contacts  where 
 you will find different programs requesting your contact information  you have 
to enable WhatsApp. When I say settings it’s the iPhone settings and not the 
WhatsApp settings.

I have logged out of my iPhone8 this morning and then logged in back in 5 
minutes.

When I went to WhatsApp, it asked for my permission for something and I said no 
without hearing it.

Now WhatsApp is showing just the phone number of my contacts, not their names. 
I want to hear their names, what should I do in order to hear their names, 
please?

I guess you’ll have to go to settings and then privacy and then contacts  where 
 you will find different programs requesting your contact information  you have 
to enable WhatsApp. When I say settings it’s the iPhone settings and not the 
WhatsApp settings.

I have logged out of my iPhone8 this morning and then logged in back in 5 
minutes.
When I went to WhatsApp, it asked for my permission for something and I said no 
without hearing it.
Now WhatsApp is showing just the phone number of my contacts, not their names. 
I want to hear their names, what should I do in order to hear their names, 
please?

I guess you’ll have to go to settings and then privacy and then contacts  where
