There's a setting specifically for deciding this. Go into the "Home Scren" area
of settings. There, you can choose whether newly downloaded apps are added to
your home screens or simply put in the library. Other settings in there let you
decide if notification badges are shown in the library as well as in the home
screen. You can also decide whether searches are shown on the home screen. I
believe this has to do with when you use spotlight search. Hope that helps.

Re: Disabling unlock sound iphone10r and downloading apps

2021-02-24 Thread Brad Snyder
1. To disable the lock/unlock sound on iPhone XR, or any other iPhone, go to:
Settings > Sounds & Haptics, swipe to Lock Sound, located near the bottom of
the list, and perform a 1-finger double tap to toggle off.

2. When purchasing or downloading an app from the AppStore on iPhone, you must
quickly double-press the Side button, or Home button on devices without a Side
button, in order to confirm a purchase or download.

are you using Face ID? because when you have it on you can use face ID to
authenticate instead of your Apple ID password. basically it's asking you to
double click your power button to purchase the app.

I'm using an iPhone 11 and the current IOS. When I attempt to download the

Hi Morné,

I assume you created an Apple Id which would be an email address and a
password? I also assume you either have a credit card associated with said
Apple Id or that you purchased maybe a gift card so you have a balance which
allows you to get paid apps.

If so, you can find an app you want, then look for a button that says “Free”
or “$0.99” or whatever the price is in your currency. Since I don’t have an
iPad I am not exactly sure where that button is on the iPad. Anyhow, you
will have to double tap on that button, it will turn into an “Install”
button and after you double tap on it you will be asked to enter your Apple
Id email and Password. Typically your Apple Id will already be there or if
not it may ask you the first time and then it will be there and you only
have to enter your password.

I know it’s tempting to choose a relatively easy password especially for
somebody who is new and unfamiliar with the virtual keyboard, but do
yourself a favour and don’t use just a word with maybe a number somewhere.
There are too many accounts which get hacked and it’s better to choose a
strong password that’s a bit more time consuming to enter than to have your
account highjacked and deal with that. A Strong password should be random,
don’t use a word from the dictionary or even one spelled backwards, use
upper and lower case as well as at least 1 or 2 numbers and a symbol like an
exclamation mark or Dollar symbol etc. I usually think of a silly sentence
and then use the first letters of each word, you could for example do
something like this:

I like my iPad 3 and information from the Viphone list!

These are 10 words, “I” and “Viphone” are capitalized, there is a number,
the 3 from iPad 3, and an exclamation mark at the end. This could turn into
the following password:

Ilmi3aiftVl!

This is just an example, but I find it easy to remember sentences like this
hence I can remember the passwords and they are among the most secure
passwords you can come up with.

Regards,

Sieghard

Subject: Downloading apps from the app store

Hello list,

Okay, I got to know my iPad 3. My next step is that I want to learn how to
download an app. I know how to get to the appstore but I’m’ not sure what to
do next. Is there a potcast or something else where I can find information
on how to do it?

Kind regards

Morné

Re: Downloading apps from the app store

2013-03-15 Thread Jennie Facer
I will tell you how I do it.

1. From the App Store, double tap on search.
2. Towards the top of the screen, there is a search field. Double tap on this
and type what you are looking for.
3. Now is the tricky part. If the app you were looking for comes up, then all
you have to do is flick right until it says the price button.
4. Then double tap on buy app.
5. Enter your Apple ID password and it should install.

Now if the app you were looking for doesn't show up right off the bat, you have
to flick right until you hear voiceover say "Picker item adjustable". Now flick
up to get to the next app. Keep flicking up until the app you want is heard.

The other thing I wanted to tell you about the App Store is that you can double
tap on the app's heading and it will tell you the specifics of the app by
flicking right. You will find this heading near the top of the screen. It
should be right after the search field.

I hope this helps a little bit. I don't have an iPad, so my instructions may be
a little different, but the main part is the same.

Clarification on Downloading Apps from the App Store

2012-09-21 Thread Les Kriegler
When you initiate a download of an App, VO will say downloading dimmed. If you
wait without touching the screen, VO will say "Open Button" when the download
has completed. It's a nice addition.

Re: Hi there I have a problem with downloading apps and games, once I download it does not finish to download...can you help me

2012-06-28 Thread Paul Ferrara

How do you know the download does not finish?
Best way to see if an app downloads correctly is to flick through your list
of apps until you reach the one you are downloading.
Listen for VO to tell you its download status, and when the name of the app
is spoken and it says double tap to open, the download is complete.
