Barry,

Alan was the one with the question.

Somehow, my answer to him ended up after his message.

I’m not sure how that happened as I usually make sure I am top posting when I
reply.

If you read beyond Alan’s question that you replied to, you will find my answer
that says much the same as yours.

Hello Richard. Place your finger at the very bottom of the screen and slide up
until you hear 3 ascending tones which will open the App Switcher. Sliding up
from the bottom with two tones is equivalent to the home key

Starting at the top of the screen and sliding down to tones will give you the
Control Centre. Sliding down from the top of the screen for 3 tones will give
you the notification Centre.

 Alan,

I gather you can do the gesture to unlock the phone.

Instead of lifting your finger when you do to unlock it, keep slccding until
you get about to the level of the power switch and lift and you should have the
app switcher.

Esther, on phones 10 and up, to go to the App Switcher, swipe up from bottom of
screen until you hear two pops. You are there then. You slide up with three
fingers to close programs. That is it.

In case you weren't sure, to go to Control Center, slide one finger down from
the top of the screen to the first pop and to go to Notifications, down from
top to the second pop.

Once you get used to not having a Home Button and the new way for App Switcher,
Control Center, and Notifications, you may like it just fine. I do.
