Tweetings was my go to Twitter app after it was apparent TweetList4 was
abandoned. More and more however, I have found myself going back to
Twitterrific. There were some scrolling bugs that I didn't care for, but have
since been fixed in Twitterrific and it's gotten better at maintaining one's
place. While I do like Tweetings a lot, there is way too much app crashing and
hanging with VO that haven't really gotten better with updates. Also, I have
noticed that with Tweetings, entire chunks of tweets will simply not show. If I
don't check into it for a while and refresh the main home list, my tweets can
jump from say three hours to one hour ago, etc. Twittterrific doesn’t' do this.
Twitterrific also has the URL shortening which is very helpful to cut down on
Voiceover chatter. That said, I do prefer Tweetings' way of reading out
retweets and quoted tweets.
The official Twitter app was fairly decent for a short bit, but it's been
forever since I really tried to use it as accessibility didn't get better and
in fact, got worse.

Just for the record, I've never had Tweetings crash or do anything like that,
on both an iPhone 5 and a 6s Plus. Gap-filling can be set to automatic, which
should take care of the missing tweets. URLs I'm not sure of, but if you mean
Twitterrific reads only the t.co links, I'd rather hear the short version of
the actual link so I know where I'm going. Both are solid apps, and each has
things the other lacks. All I can suggest is to try both, or at least find
podcasts on both, to help make the choice.

I find Tweetings absolutely rock solid for keeping my place. I use a lot of
Twitter lists, and I find Twitterific doesn't do a good job of retaining one's
place in lists. My only criticism of Tweetings is that opening links is
unnecessarily cumbersome and takes too many taps, but it's a fantastic client

I wasn't aware of the gap filling setting. I'll try that out.
If I had to choose, tweetings would be the one I'd go with at the end of the
day. It offers a highly customizable experience.

RE: starting to Twitter

2015-11-20 Thread Cristóbal
The one aspect where I find using Tweetings to be cumbersome and could use
some improvement is with adding/removing users and managing them in lists. This
was where TweetList and TweetList4 shined. It could be too that I just don’t’
know where and how to better do it within the app.

I agree. Tweetings in general is very good at keeping one’s place.

I find Tweetings absolutely rock solid for keeping my place. I use a lot of
Twitter lists, and I find Twitterific doesn't do a good job of retaining one's
place in lists. My only criticism of Tweetings is that opening links is
unnecessarily cumbersome and takes too many taps, but it's a fantastic client
overall.

2015-11-20 Thread Greg Wocher

Hello,
I do have a difficult time with tweetings keeping my place in the list.
It never seems to go back to the right place after I go to a link from
within the tweet. I also don't like how tweetings displays the time the
tweet was sent. It will either say 1h or 32 meters instead of 1 hour or
32 minutes. I use the native twitter app all the time and I find no real
accessibility issues with it.

Hi Greg, there was a temporary issue affecting all apps in iOS 9, but as long
as you have 9.1, once you return to the list of tweets after viewing a link,
tapping the screen roughly in the centre should return focus to the right
place. Works every time for me on two devices at least.
It's pretty cool that with iOS, we have so many accessible choices.

2015-11-20 Thread Greg Wocher

hello,
Ah I see what I was doing wrong. I am not tapping in the center of the
screen. I do like tweetings plus when I was using Android tweetings was
the client I used. On the PC I am using Chicken Nugget at the moment.

Hi Greg, there was a temporary issue affecting all apps in iOS 9, but
as long as you have 9.1, once you return to the list of tweets after
viewing a link, tapping the screen roughly in the centre should return
focus to the right place. Works every time for me on two devices at
least.

It's pretty cool that with iOS, we have so many accessible choices.

Hello,
I do have a difficult time with tweetings keeping my place in the
list. It never seems to go back to the right place after I go to a
link from within the tweet. I also don't like how tweetings displays
the time the tweet was sent. It will either say 1h or 32 meters
instead of 1 hour or 32 minutes. I use the native twitter app all the
time and I find no real accessibility issues with it.

better do it within the app.

I agree. Tweetings in general is very good at keeping one’s place.

I find Tweetings absolutely rock solid for keeping my place. I use a
lot of Twitter lists, and I find Twitterific doesn't do a good job
of retaining one's place in lists. My only criticism of Tweetings is
that opening links is unnecessarily cumbersome and takes too many
taps, but it's a fantastic client overall.

Just for the record, I've never had Tweetings crash or do
anything like that, on both an iPhone 5 and a 6s Plus.
Gap-filling can be set to automatic, which should take care of
the missing tweets. URLs I'm not sure of, but if you mean
Twitterrific reads only thet.co <http://t.co/>links, I'd rather
hear the short version of the actual link so I know where I'm
going. Both are solid apps, and each has things the other lacks.
All I can suggest is to try both, or at least find podcasts on
both, to help make the choice.

I'm one of the few who uses the Twitter official app on my 4S with

Ithink it
used to be, then it was paid, and I haven't heard as of yet
what's the
deal now with Twitteriffic?

about it! I will be using my iPhone 6 running 9.1. can anyone direct me to the
easiest to use app and give me some pointers to start me off?

thanks in anticipation, Sandy
