Recovery of deleted files

Re: iMac screen :-(
I believe the lampshade has an adapter that you can hook up an external vga monitor. Although $900AUD doesn't sound like a horrible cost for fixing the 20 imac. If you ever wanted to sell it, I don't think you would get a buyer without a good screen (unless they wanted it for parts). Yesterday the screen went blank at start-up and I am told by the people at Joondalup that it has gone and a replacement screen cost around $900. I don't want to pay that amount to fix it. The computer is working fine and I can access it using Target mode to my PowerBook. I am looking at various options. Firstly does someone have a broken iMac with a 20 screen that I could buy. Apparently it must be 20. Secondly does anyone have a G5 iMac for sale? Or even another G4? Or a large screen that I could plug in, apple or not? Am open to suggestions or deals. Don't tell me about insurance! :-((( Lloyd -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Unsubscribe - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] __ Do You Yahoo!? I left it to scan/run over night and it found all the client's trashed files. Good luck Paul
upgraded iphoto
I've recently bought the new iphoto/iweb software and then upgraded; iphoto is now version 6.0.2 Question Where on earth are the thumbnails? Before I could navigate say 2006 folder from Finder and find thumbnails for a particular photo..now I can't find them at all. Where are they? I've rebuilt thumbnails etc but can't find them. OS 9.0
Has anyone graduated past Mac OS 9.0 and no longer requires the installation CDs? Would be pleased to purchase. Reply direct. Merv -- Science teaches that we must see in order to believe, but we must also believe in order to see.
Re: Recovery of deleted files
Hi Bill, I was somewhat in the same situation as yours only recently. Here are some links for software that will recover deleted files. Hopefully nothing has been written on the disk since the deletion. One suggestion might be to use the harddrive as a 'target' and try to recover so that nothing is written on the drive. I'm sure someone with good knowledge will let you know. Good luck. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/1133 - Shareware http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19622 - Free http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22589 Regards, Philippe on 11/3/06 1:30 AM, William Crabb at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello Wamuggers, Is there software to recover deleted files, my employee accidently deleted some important files, I'm hoping for some positve news, Bill -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Unsubscribe - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
