Next big version of the Mac OS ?
Hi folks, Just had an interesting thought today ! When Apple gets through all the decimals in OSX 10 (that is beyond 10.9) I wonder how they will designate it ? Will it be OS11 ? (X being the Roman numeral for 10) Will it be OSXI ? (XI being Roman numerals for 11) Will it be OS Eleven ? Any other ideas ? Hi Stephen, Apple is said to already have diverted the majority of its OS X and iOS resources to development of the next two Apple operating systems: OS X 10.10 and iOS 8. Re: Next big version of the Mac OS ?
Mm ! So the decimal will be misused somewhat to achieve the new name ! Being OSX 10.10 Interesting. PS: Hi Bill. I am not quite with you re using the name “OSX 10.7.5” for the next BIG OS change. Surely that has been used already ! Re: ipad 2 ios 7 - video
Hi Gary, Have you updated to iOS 7.0.2? If not that is the first thing to do. iTunes can convert video to iOS iPad format. Are you playing (trying to play) these videos in safari on your iPad 2? Do you have the VLC for iOS installed on your iPad? VLC plays all your video formats for free. VLC for iOS 2.1.3 https://itunes.apple.com/app/vlc-ios/id650377962 If nothing above helps: Try a System Reset. It cures many problems and it's quick, easy and harmless... Hold down the On/Off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the Slide to power off text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc. Cheers, Ronni Sent from Ronni's iPad4 On 5 Nov 2013, at 11:46 am, gdorn gd...@me.com wrote: hi since updating my ipad to ios 7 last week, the videos no longer show a pictorial icon, nor play ( quits on play) a downloaded itunes movie - Sketchs of Frank Gehry ( star architect known for many iconic buildings, including guggenheim museum Bilbao) is okay resyncing via itunes 11.1 make no diff movies are mostly Utube downloads converter to ipad version by Grappler tlaf.com/grappler thanks for any suggestions gdorn gd...@mac.com -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml Guidelines - http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml Settings Unsubscribe - http://lists.wamug.org.au/listinfo/wamug.org.au-wamug

Safari 6.1 does not do this, requiring me to select the printer from a standard tool bar menu. Re: Mavericks - Sync contact, events
As long as you are not experiencing ANY problems/issues on your current setup. And don't just rush in without doing all the pre-updating of your current applications, check your non generic applications, add-ons/plugins and printer etc are going to be compatible work in Mavericks. Then do the Backup Preparation, this has all been posted on WAMUG before.
