2018-12-26 Thread Julie Bedford
Hi Barry
Just a thought - last year I was having problems similar to this on my itunes
(El Capitan) After a lot of messing around, I did a disc check on the internal
hard disc where I have my itunes. I recall a few errors appeared, so I
replaced the hard drive and transferred itunes onto it and all is working fine
now. Just my two bob’s worth.

Good luck

Re: CDs not playing

2018-12-26 Thread Barry Sexstone
Progress (of a sort). I have borrowed a Macbook Air and the CD player plays
CDs through this quite happily. Operating system on the Air is 10.14.1 (iMac
10.14.2) and iTunes is 12.9 (12.9.2.5 on the iMac)
The problem therefore appears to be with iTunes probably being corrupted on the
iMac. Any advice on how to reinstall iTunes without having to reinstall the OS.
Thanks
Barry

Re: Can we install older OS

2018-12-26 Thread Alan Smith
Hi Peter

I use Excel in Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 with High Sierra without problems.
Google and (RoaringApps) also claim Office 2011 is compatible with Mojave (!!).
I very occasionally use Word and it seems to be ok too. You can check Office
and Adobe compatibility at: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

I have no info about installing an old OS. Apple Support suggests that the
latest version of OSX (10.6) would be reinstalled in Recovery mode if the
latest installed version on the MBP is in the 10.6 series.

Cheers
Alan

Can we install older OS

2018-12-26 Thread Peter Faulks
My son want to update his Mac Book Pro Lap Top mac but I have told
him High Sierra will not accept his Microsoft Office or Adobe suite,
mail etc. (Am I right in this?)

Is it possible to install a previous operating system like 10.6.8 on
his machine without having to upgrade to High Sierra? He wants to re
install for his boys to use for school work and has OS 10.6 at the
moment.
