Progress (of a sort). I have borrowed a Macbook Air and the CD player plays CDs through this quite happily. Operating system on the Air is 10.14.1 (iMac 10.14.2) and iTunes is 12.9 (12.9.2.5 on the iMac) The problem therefore appears to be with iTunes probably being corrupted on the iMac. Any advice on how to reinstall iTunes without having to reinstall the OS. Thanks Barry
