Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard Battery Level Permanently 100 percent

2016-02-12 Thread Alan Smith
A few days ago the Bluetooth devices battery level indicators (for Apple mouse
and keyboard) suddenly changed to show 100 percent. Late 2009 iMac; OS X
10.9.5 Mavericks.

I changed the Magic Mouse batteries for some old ones. Still 100 percent. Did
Restart then SMC reset. No Change.

Precursor to the problem - neither keyboard nor mouse would wake the iMac from
sleep - I had to use the Power button.Bluetooth “wake” function has worked
since.

By the way, I checked “About This Mac” to get the OS X version, but I was sure
I had installed an update (10.9.6) fairly recently.

Regards,
Alan

Hi Ronni

No change in indicated battery levels after re-pairing.
The recent Mavericks "upgrade" installed was just an OS X security update!

There is no 10.9.6 update! Development of Mavericks OS X 10.9 was finalized on
10.9.5, the next release was Yosemite 10.10.5 and the most current version of
OS X is 10.11.3 El Capitan.

Fwd: Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard Battery Level Permanently 100 percent

2016-02-12 Thread Alan Smith
An update to the problem - -

I installed the Dashboard widget "Mighty Monitor" which shows the same battery
levels as the Terminal ioreg command. Hasn't fixed the real problem, but it
does help in monitoring battery life.

Next step - get the widget on to the desktop!

Lost Bluetooth Mouse Pairing

2012-03-08 Thread Diana Graham Stevens
Hello All

My MacbookPro (2 GHz Intel Core i7, 10.6.8) can't see the mouse any more.

When I open the Bluetooth Preferences it says 'Name not available' where it
should give the details of the MBP. It claimed that the mouse was connected and
discoverable but it did not work.

I tried new batteries, no go. I disconnected the mouse and now the MBP can't
see it.

My husband's InteliMac can see both the MBP and my mouse.

I have been using the MBP with the track pad most of the time and it used to
complain that it could not find the mouse but lately it has given up doing that.

Any suggestions are most welcome.

Hi Diana,

Is it a Magic Mouse?

First, have you tried restarting your MBP?

Second, have you tried going to System Preferences Bluetooth Preferences,
remove your bluetooth mouse, and repair it?

Cheers,

Re: Bluetooth mouse

2009-07-29 Thread Greg Manzie

Hello Peter and WAMUGGERS

I love my Logitech LX7 5 button cordless mouse. It is designed for
both left handed and right handed people, which is very important at
our house.

The mouse scrolls left and right, up and down etc. I have the buttons
programmed for Expose and was very put out recently when I had to go
back to a 3 button model for a while as my LX7 was stolen.

The LX7 has be superseded and I was not as impressed with the
replacement, so I managed to buy two from an American ebay site.

Crispin Zinsmeister is the owner of Reforger.com and was very
friendly and helpful. They recycle new and rebuilt equipment and I
was able to buy them for AUD $86.00, delivered to Mosman Park, for
the two. ie $43.00 each. I am very happy with this.

Here is a link to the ebay site http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?
ViewItemitem=370222444296ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123.

PS. I have taught myself to use the mouse with my left hand (I am
right handed) as my wife is a leftie (work of the devil). It took
about a week but I now prefer it, as I can mouse with the left and
type with the right. Sometimes when I use two computers at once, I
mouse with a one in each hand. This is very useful when performing
maintenance tasks. Anyone trying to learn to use the opposite hand
will be very frustrated at first but believe me, it's well worth the
effort.

Bad bluetooth mouse accuracy on pBook?

2006-02-26 Thread Paul Day

Howdy all,

Anyone else had trouble with the accuracy of bluetooth mice on their
PowerBooks?

I've tried three different Bluetooth mice with my 1GHz 12 pBook, all with
the same very inaccurate results. Fast movements (eg, trying to get from
the corner of one screen to another) are the worst, being almost random in
nature. I've tried two of the Targus Bluetooth mini-mice and now an Omiz
Bluetooth mini-mouse (which is a really nice little unit), all three with
the same results.

All three mice work fine with the two other (PC) laptops I've got and I
used to use a Bluetake BT-500 Bluetooth mini-mouse on my old G3 iBook 900
with-out any problems. Tried blowing away all my Bluetooth settings (by
manually deleting the .plist file), different types of batteries, trying
in different locations and turning off _everything_ within a 30 meter
radius that might cause interference in an effort to rule it out. I'm
running the latest OS (10.4.5) and latest Bluetooth software and firmware.

Anyone have any suggestions or is this common in the 12 pBook? :-/

Cheers,
Paul

I think someone else recently posted about a mouse tracking problem.
Can't remmeber if it was Bluetooth or not.

Perhaps you are currently having a run of back luck in some way, as
this type of issue does not seem to affect everyone. Hopefully not a
flaky Bluetooth module.

Re: Bluetooth Mouse Recomendations?

2004-06-30 Thread Adam Yap

Paul,

A few of us I think have already gone through this whole deal. My
recommendation after buying everything is:

1. If you can handle the single mouse button and lack of scroll wheel,
go Apple.

2. If you can't, the Microsoft one seems to have it's own share of
issues connecting etc, but the Logitech one probably is the most
effective. Only problem with the logitech is that it doesn't come with
an off switch. This can be really annoying, mainly because the thing
just keeps running out of battery. You can't just throw the thing in a
big and use it for a week, because it just won't work that way.

3. The best ones seem to be ones you can't get here. MacMice I think
has a great 2 button scroll wheel version.

Anyone interested in a bluetooth mouse?

2004-02-20 Thread Adam Yap

Bluetooth mouse just didn't work out, it's nice and all but just
doesn't agree with the way I want to hold it. Guess I've been using big
hulky PC mice for too long.

This is probably going to be a straight return to Winthrop but if
anyone's interested in it for $106 instead of the $119 RRP they're
welcome to pick it up off me instead. I'm in Nedlands and the mouse is,
of course, in brand new condition with box blah blah.
