Re: youtube music catcher : PowerPoint converted to movie for Apple TV

2011-09-27 Thread peta
Hullo again Ronni

I have had another few fiddles with the PPS presentation. Basically same
problem as yesterday - I do not receive the options to include Fixed Timing
nor Audio - include audio (sound files, movie audio), nor Include the
slideshow soundtrack, nor include the slideshow recording.

So, I can certainly watch the presentation on my Apple TV (yea!). However,
there are no sound effects nor music.

Not to worry, the first part is great and hopefully one day I will work out how
to retain/include the sound effects/music.

Many thanks again,

Peta

 Hi Peta,

I’m ‘guessing’ you are using Keynote’09 to open the PowerPoint Slide

If so you can export the slide presentation to Quicktime movie format H264
which Apple TV ’should’ be able to play.
(I don’t have Apple TV so cannot test this out for you). I have exported
numerous Keynote Slide Presentations of my own to Quicktime .mov and then
created DVDs of them using iDVD for viewing on TV screens.

 1. Open the PowerPoint Slide Presentation in Keynote
 2. Go to ’Share’ Export To Quicktime
 3. Playback Uses: Recorded Timing (If you wish to keep the same settings as

I normally change these settings to ‘Fixed Timing' to fit my slide durations

 4. Click ’Next’
 5. Save As: Name.mov

 6. Click ’Export’

Re: youtube music catcher : PowerPoint converted to movie for Apple TV

2011-09-27 Thread peta
Good morning Ronni

Wow, it is very, very cold this morning.

I tried a few more times with the PPS presentation, both from Keynote and from
Powerpoint (on my Mac).

Same as previously. I am able to take this to the stage where I can play the
show on my Apple TV; however I have no option to slow the slides down, so they
are a bit too fast on the Apple TV to read the notes, or to fully enjoy each
slide quite long enough. Nor does the music play; I am unable to add my own
music.

Apart from curiosity, this is fine; the slides look great on the big TV and I
am still able to watch the show with its original effects on my Desktop Mac.

So many thanks for this Ronni. If I do discover a way at some point in the
future to achieve the steps of slowing the slideshow down, and exporting the
music with the slideshow, I will write in and let you know.

Have a good day,

Peta

Hi Peta,

I’m going to be with a client until later this morning, I’ll try to get back to
you later.

But quickly:

When you open the PowerPoint Slide Presentation in Keynote’09 does it play
through correctly? … slides at the correct speed, and with Audio (soundtrack)?

Also In Menu bar, View Show Inspector - Under Document - Presentation: is it
self playing or what?
 “
   - Audio: does it show a soundtrack here

Delay: what does it have here?

Got to rush out now, I’ll get back to you when possible.

Cheers,

Lynn,

Not free but very versatile; will capture and record any audio that you can
somehow get your Mac to play. I have been using it for at least 5 years, and
getting 5 years of free upgrades, so well worth it.
