It's possible to select it, but the text in the search box itself remained Special:Pre. The main issue is exec() and friends in safe mode. As pointed out in comment #2, it's patently broken in these setups. If there are enhancements we can make to help safe mode users that don't create issues for the rest of us then they should be incorporated into wfShellExec() rather than unconditionally failing like we currently do. However, that's outside the scope of this bug (on a tangent, anything not using wfShellExec() should be) and is a WONTFIX as far as I'm concerned. The second issue here is that when we're looking for diff3, we're expecting some rather specific output from --version (which is still true with the new installer merged to trunk). The original report obviously has a working diff3, we just don't allow it because its version output isn't matching. This should certainly be fixed and I'm repurposing the bug to concentrate on that. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 23613] New: tidying up of categories
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23613 Summary: tidying up of categories Product: MediaWiki Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: Categories AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: rp...@yahoo.com The more categories and subcategories we are adding to the entries the more problematic the current system looks. I think that a shape up in the categories is necessary. Let's assume that category A has 3 sub categories A1, A2 and A3 and these have each from two subcategories A11, A12, A21, A22, A31 and A32 1. There is no option to expand category A, so that it shows all entries within its subcategories which makes us want to add all categories and subcategories to the category list. 2. It would be a great help, if, by adding an entry to subcategory A32, it would also actively acquire all other categories above. 3. It would also greatly facilitate us if whenever we added an entry to a category, we would also be informed of the existence of further subcategories. 4. This should also be obvious in the category list of the entries. Instead of listing 12 different categories, something should be done to list less and yet be informed of the existence of the subcategories. Maybe we could call some categories key and list them, but still have some button to see all categories or maybe they could become visible when the pointer is placed over the key category. There are entries with a tree of maybe 15 categories. If nr.1, 6 and 12 were determined key we would only need to add then to cat. 15 and then 1,6 and 12 would be visible in the category list... 5. Some tool should also be made to help us better organize all this chaos... I hope that something will be done to better organize categories as simple users.
