And because an entry in user contributions feed (e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AContributions/Svickfeed=atomlimit=50target=Svickyear=month=) represents an edit, each edit should have its own id, but currently, the id is the URL of the changed page. I think this causes repeated showing of the same edit in Google Reader. I validate contributions ATOM feed with http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi . validator says: : column 81: Two entries with the same id and I change url feed=atom to feed=rss, validator says : column 84: guid values must not be duplicated within a feed http://. : column 1: Missing atom:link with rel=self so I think feed function has id check bug. and rss feed function has not correctly template. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25679 --- Comment #8 from barras...@web.de 2010-10-30 16:06:02 UTC --- (In reply to comment #6) My point is that the other wiki communities didn't have a chance to opt-out of this change, so why should Simple? There are very specific guidelines now for the logo, and the logo Mono proposed is the only way to follow them. We are not other projects, we are the simple English Wikipedia. If you want to change something that affects the simple English Wikipedia, then ask the community. It's really simple. Another point is, that the proposed logo has not the exact same text as the current one. [Bug 25718] New: API call Title-getLocalURL does not respect $wgArticlePath when given a query
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25718 Summary: API call Title-getLocalURL does not respect $wgArticlePath when given a query Product: MediaWiki Version: 1.16.0 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Keywords: easy Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: General/Unknown AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: j...@pobox.com MediaWiki's includes/Title.php defines a Title class with a getLocalURL function. If $wgArticlePath is defined (for pretty URLs) when this function is called, it returns a pretty URL. However, if a query parameter is given (without an action), $wgArticlePath is not considered. Compare code: Without a query parameter: http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/tags/REL1_16_0/phase3/includes/Title.php?view=markup#l801 With a query parameter: http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/tags/REL1_16_0/phase3/includes/Title.php?view=markup#l824 This shows up with extensions that add query parameters to some pages. So you'll either have to use $wgActionPaths or start a bug asking for some sort of $wgShortActions array which can be loaded with an explicit list of actions that should take the /wiki/Article?action= form instead of the default index.php?title=action= form. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 25451] time and date calculation wrong (causes PHP warnings), with patch
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25451 --- Comment #16 from Platonides platoni...@gmail.com 2010-10-30 22:57:37 UTC --- @timezones: no, the non-DateTime code uses gm*() which do not use timezones either, so this is actually correct Even when the timezone was appended in the PHP? :) Regarding duplication, I'd prefer to have it as an array of constants-formats and then choose DateTime or gmtime() depending if it's available (' GMT' appending makes is a bit trickier). Another option would be to create a DateTime class for PHP 5.1 to use as fallback everywhere. I looked at going to date_create() if gmmktime() returned false, but as gmdate() internally casted the string to 32 bits int, the result was also wrong. Also note you miss a second DateTimeZone() parameter to skip the PHP date warning. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 25718] Title-getLocalURL does not respect $wgArticlePath when given a query
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25718 --- Comment #5 from Kiran Jonnalagadda j...@pobox.com 2010-10-30 23:03:04 UTC --- getLocalURL() already has special handling for when it sees 'action' in the query parameters. This bug report and patch are for queries that do not specify an action. Therefore, $wgActionPaths does not apply here and action=raw isn't affected. Here is where 'action' is checked for: http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/tags/REL1_16_0/phase3/includes/Title.php?view=markup#l804 The patch assumes $wgArticlePath is setup for pretty URLs. This may or may not be handled by the wfAppendQuery() function called elsewhere from within getLocalURL(). I'm not sure where wfAppendQuery() is defined. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 225] secure login on wikimedia via ssl

Previously it had been introduced as an option, but now all of our users use HTTPS to secure their email between their browsers and Google, all the time. In order to do this we had to deploy no additional machines and no special hardware. On our production frontend machines, SSL/TLS accounts for less than 1% of the CPU load, less than 10KB of memory per connection and less than 2% of network overhead. Many people believe that SSL takes a lot of CPU time and we hope the above numbers (public for the first time) will help to dispel that. If you stop reading now you only need to remember one thing: SSL/TLS is not computationally expensive any more. http://www.imperialviolet.org/2010/06/25/overclocking-ssl.html -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. Discussions were made on En.wiki on how to improve the image after it was implemented. Why not try to improve it now before implementing it. That way, we would have just 1 discussion with everyone on simple before implementing instead of 4 or 5 arguing about it after. [Bug 25718] Title-getLocalURL does not respect $wgArticlePath when given a query
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25718 --- Comment #8 from Daniel Friesen mediawiki-b...@nadir-seen-fire.com 2010-10-31 02:43:32 UTC --- Even if you rel=nofollow a url, it's possible that someone may use WikiText to link to the same url and this link may not contain rel=nofollow, it's also possible for the external link to be from another website, so there is no way to ensure that there are never any non-nofollow links sitting around pointing to urls that you don't want search engines to spider. rel=nofollow also does not stop spiders from following a url, spiders have taken more of a stance lately of reading rel=nofollow as I don't endorse this, don't count it towards a pagerank rather than NEVER use this link to go to that url. Even if you rel=nofollow something they may still follow the link to that page, so the only way to keep a spider from ever spidering a url is to use robots.txt it's the only reliable tool (We know rel=noindex is used on the pages themselves, but who wants search engines spidering every noindex'ed page they can see, it's a waste of requests on high traffic wiki). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
