[Bug 29595] Search suggestions broken on als.wikipedia.org
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29595 --- Comment #15 from Clemens Kienzle clemens.kien...@gmx.net 2011-07-11 07:23:04 UTC --- Strange that the search suggestions work for you, they don't work for me (or any other users I've talked to). It will take me to the article if I enter the whole title, but it won't display any suggestions as I type. Holder undid the modifications because several templates stopped working. Most importantly: http://als.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorlage:Titel On als.wikipedia, all articles are saved under the Standard German keyword, but the Alemannic title is displayed through the above template. For example, on http://als.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kartoffel the title is displayed as Härdöpfel. Something in the changes you made caused this template to stop working. So instead of Härdöpfel it would display undefined. Since this affects nearly all pages, it is pretty serious. Maybe we should first figure out why Vorlage:Titel doesn't work with your modifications, and then figure out the search function? Should I open a new bug for that? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

The arrow leads from the article title to the redirect text. It's not an arrow standing besides unrelated text, where separation would be useful. I like the overall background color, since it's the most common diff style. Two tweaks: I added a padding: 2px 1px; to .diffchange, this makes the marked area extend to the top/bottom of the line. However, overall I don't think @doubleflip would be needed, Translate is more an exceptional extension in terms of directionality. Core MW is OK without it: I added sitedir-ltr/rtl (on body) for the site content language, and mw-content-ltr/rtl classes for the page content language, and that seems to be enough for most things. (I also had to add rules like .mw-content-ltr .mw-content-rtl { ... } to circumvent the CSS priority system, for cases where there was different directionality within the content.) I think it would be more useful if there was something like /* @flipclasses */ .class-ltr { margin-left:1em; } that would generate .class-ltr { margin-left:1em; } and .class-rtl { margin-right:1em; } -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29814 --- Comment #2 from Michael Dale d...@ucsc.edu 2011-07-11 16:03:55 UTC --- It would be good to know if your using the quicktime component or java. They both have stability issues but one may be worse than the other and we can target the one that sucks less. Also we may recommend safari 5 users add the http://code.google.com/p/webm/downloads/list webm component if that ends up better maintained and would not be broken when you issue seek requests. As a practical concern safari 5 bug are challenging, because I don't have a mac readily accessible to test on. I think Ogg quicktime component still does progressive download to your seek point, so seeks appear broken. In theory someone could update the quicktime ogg component to use the ogg index if we can hunt down the maintainer. But in practice we are probably better off putting our efforts towards webm component testing and bug reports since it seems to have a little more activity: http://review.webmproject.org/gitweb?p=webmquicktime.git All videos in TMH will have at least one webm transcode. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25120 --- Comment #2 from Siebrand s.mazel...@xs4all.nl 2011-07-11 17:32:52 UTC --- What is mentioned in comment 1 is exactly the issue. In particular, when messages end with a newline (\n) that was noted in Translate using a single \ without leading whitespace. However, we use to have TM suggestions that did insert whitespace at the beginning of every line, or if translators copy-pasted the TM suggestion instead of using the JavaScript insert arrow, it might also have leading whitespace. Annoying, but almost impossible to fix, because however unlikely, \ (a single space) might be valid message content in gettext. The only fix that I see is save time time gettext validation (source to translation) for exactly this issue, and if the entries do not both end with '\n' just mark it fuzzy.
